Found this place while looking for something to eat that wasn’t Mehecan or some other 3rd world cuisine. I thought that i was going to go without eating tonight until i ran up on this little hole in the wall bar and pizza joint and the workers were of the first world folk and the customers were too. All the other places were filled with 3rd worlders working and customers. The combo sandwich was just $ 5 with first worlders cooking it.

I was looking for a place that delivered pizza. my kids wanted pizza. Not too many places deliver to us in Bedford Park but I found Orsi’s and read the few reviews on Unilocal and thought, why not? I called and first off, the gentleman on the phone was super nice and pretty much gave me their full menu over the phone. I am a burger freak and I read that their burgers were«awesome». I ordered a small cheese/pepperoni pizza for my kids and a swiss cheese with mushroom burger for myself. My kids said the pizza was very good. My burger was DELICIOUS. 4.5 stars! How come I never noticed this spot before?! I have tried burgers from so many different spots all over Chicago land and Orsi’s burger is on my top 3!

So I first came to this bar/pizza joint back in April of 2014 when I took a conceal and carry class in the banquet hall next door. They ordered pizza and it was pretty darn good ! I told my significant other about it and she decided to try. It was great !!! we order the largest pizza sausage, quarter pepperoni and 2 order of fries. The sauce is a little sweet in a great way sausage is great and the crust is crispy. So my plan is to order the pizza when I get there and have a few beers while I wait for the pizza. I might become a regular need to check out the night life will keep you posted.

This is a timeless dive bar, Chester’s Tavern that is. Orsi’s Pizza just happens to be the same animal occupying the same space. An interesting dichotomy. «The glass is always half full at Chester’s Tavern, never half empty»! I had my first drink here when I was about 8 years old, a bottle of 7-UP with a bag of Jay’s Potato Chips. I was in «little shit heaven»! The bottle was poured for me into a small glass. Before I could take a sip, the effervescence travelled up my nose and just about blew my eye sockets out! But it did not slow me down from devouring my first taste of grease disguised in a bag of Jay’s Potato chips. There is a lot of history here; for example back in the day«People» would swarm the place for Sunday BBQ. Plenty of cigar smoke, plenty of charcoal smoke and plenty of smoke screen personalities. I’m talking wise guys… Like anything else, time dictates change, upgrades and remodeling. The original bar remains intact as well as the open kitchen in back…“a thing of beauty for those who enjoy that aspect”! Food and drink compliment each other here, that’s the way it works. The thin crust tavern style pizza… this is the way it’s supposed to be! Chester’s Tavern was, and always will be a neighborhood joint where you enter through the alley door, walk in like your supposed to be there, quickly scan the kitchen area… the rest is up to you. «Know what I’m sayin»?

Bucket of beer and a Pizza $ 20. Great stop after softball games. Good bartender and staff. They have a back room that is large enough for parties. All are welcome…
