After living in Japan years ago, I’ve been on a search of authentic Yakitori. This is it!!! As others have pointed out, the pork belly is a must have. And the beef tongue was the best I’ve had period! Service was spot on — our waitress was spot on and all of the staff were great. This is now on my must return to list of places.

I’ve never wrote a review anywhere but not doing so for this place would not serve it JUSTICE! Stumbled upon this fantastic place by accident! I usually go on Unilocal to just go to the nearest food of choice there was, it happens my first choice was out of business and I’ve never been happier that I’ve had to delay eating to come across here! When we first got there, Aunty(manger/owner of the restaurant) greeted us and told us it be a few mins because the front was out of AC and would not allow to sit there, which was fine, need I mention she served us her home made sangria sake free of charge for the inconvenience which wasn’t a problem at all! I immediately felt at home by her hospitality. Also when we sat at our table she gave the WHOLE restaurant a shot of sake(choice of hot or cold) on the house for the inconvenience of the AC which really, again, wasn’t an issue at all!!! It wasn’t hot one bit! On to dinner, hands down the BESTKALBI I’ve ever had in my life! This was life and all things beautiful in it! She also gave us EACH complementary Kim chee and more had we asked. We ordered a half pitcher of her specially sangria sake with real fruit and I regret that I didn’t order the full. This has been, if not the best, then the top 2 places I’ve eaten in my life! Aunty is very talkative, personable, caring, joyful, Happiest, hard working LEADER. She knows how to run a business and to do it with passion, I’ll be back for more!!!

Here is the proverbial place in an off hand location that’s purely spectacular. If you want a «dining experience» this place is the real deal. The service was great and the food amazing. I would strongly recommend the skewers from the yakitori grill for appetizers. I would be willing to try anything on this menu. If you’re in or around North Charleston try this wonderful restaurant.

Each time we go, the wait staff and owner are always friendly, chatty, and attuned to your needs. All of the food is fresh, and made in house. Highly recommended. I’ve been there 4 times now, and have brought friends, family, or significant other there each time. I’d go more often if it wasn’t so far from my house. The only time I had a not-perfect meal there was with the Ika-Maruyaki entrée. Every other entrée, appetizer, and side that my friends had gotten was terrific. Perhaps it was a bad pair with the bubble teas my friends and I had gotten from Cuppa Mama, but none of us could take more than one bite of its oddly bitter taste. I was told it was a popular item, so maybe it was just our imagination. No worries though– Myles and staff to the rescue! Entrée replaced with Teriyaki salmon with no arguments, leaving one ever satisfied customer.

Best restaurant in the area. I have been coming to Goose Creek for over 20 years and just found this gem. Amazing welcome. Great staff. Most importantly, I have a shellfish allergy and Japanese restaurant is always a challenge. But they went out of there way to make things from scratch. Wagyu beef was the best steak I ever had in South Carolina. Honey Toast was off the charts. Can’t wait to come back.

Best take on authentic Japanese yakitori we have found in charleston area! The flavored were tasty. We had the goyza, chicken katsu wraps, and the special which was ribs and a katsu shrimp. The miso soup was so flavorful, the house ginger salad was very tasty! Next time I’m going to get the dessert!

This was a very good restaurant. The service was great and the owner was so sweet and friendly. Our server was great too. The Yakitori was delicious. We had the Kami(duck), Wagyu(beef), and Tsukane(chicken), and by far my absolute favorite was the Wagyu Beef. It was melt in your mouth tender. So good, I really wanted to share with my husband, but my tastebuds would not allow me to. My husband had the short ribs for an entrée which he said was amazing. I was too busy with the Wagyu to give a second thought to anything else. I also had a glass of the Sake Sangria. It was really good. I love fruity drinks, so if you like fruity drinks like I do, then you will really enjoy it. I plan on returning to try more of the menu items soon. What a treat for summerville.

Is there anybody can say a bad thing about this place? I don’t think so. If you look at all these great reviews and you finally go there, you understand why. The owner welcome you with a big smile, all servers are well trained, they treat each customers like a family member and the food is great. It’s hard not to love this place! I tried the sake cocktail, a few yaki tori(wagyu was my fav) and kalbi. They even devide the entrée as 2 if you ordered other food and you want to share the entrée. we went there for my husband’s birthday, the owner even sang the birthday song for him :) it’s one of the best restaurant in Summerville!

I knew it would be odd to have a good tasting ramen in Charleston but figured why not? The flavor of their broth is that your typical Asian chicken soup for the soup is good and pure but ramen broth is not normally pure. Don’t get me wrong now, I loved the soup, that is about it. The pork is tasteless because it was used in the soup for it had been brewing for hours cause it was super soft. Love the vegetables in it for it was tasty. Noodles were nice and firm as it should be. Bottom line, it was not a bad experience for this is their version of the Ramen. I will stick to my flavor tho for the best one that I had was at VEGAS at Manta Ramen… yum!!! Almost forgot, we had the yakitori as well for it was very different because the meat was not grilled at all which I found it weird but it was soft which means that it was pre-cooked then stuck in a skewer for I did not taste the grill flavor. It wasn’t all bad for it was ok cause it was nice and soft but would had really been killer if they would had really grilled it. The people there was really nice, but the owner needs to chill out a bit for she was very loud and annoying in a way.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Starts put with sample of sake sangria. It was really good, don’t normally drink sangria but had to order a glass of this stuff. Yakitori was amazing. I recommend the pork belly and wagyu beef. I did the yakibuta ramen. Really good as well, great flavor. Must try the honey toast. No joke

This place was fantastic! I don’t even know where to begin in describing how much I loved this gem of a place. I loved that the waitress took extra care to explain the menu to us. I love that they were willing to make a totally«off the menu» dish for my very picky daughter. I love that they brought samples of the sangria of the day. The beef wrapped asparagus was delicious, as were the spicy beef & chicken meatballs. I will definitely return & recommend it to everyone I know.

MYLESANDJUN! We were determined to go to Summerville and try something new. Myles and Jun has amazing reviews and we were sold. We made a reservation on SeatMe through Unilocal and make sure that you do. It is a small to medium sized restaurant so ensure you have a table! Their two tops are a great size, they aren’t small! We were greeted with a complimentary shot of their sake of the day [which was fantastic] and when you check in on Unilocal you get a free small sake! Our server was beyond nice and she was very knowledgeable on the menu. We decided to go the Dim Sum route and get a lot of little things and we HAD to try the Yakitori. We ordered the tuna tartare, pork belly, squid salad and mussels. For Yakitori we ordered the crispy chicken skin, beef heart, beef tongue and duck. The tuna tartare was ok, the pork belly was ok but not as big as expected. The squid salad was squid on an actual salad not marinated squid salad like at traditional Japanese restaurants and the mussels were ok but we could have lived without them. The Yakitori was interesting and I like that they have proteins that you can’t really get anywhere else. The crispy chicken skin was good and was very reminiscent of pork rinds. The beef heart and tongue were very tender, a must try! The only thing that was a huge bummer is that they were out of ramen when we ordered. After all that we were still a tiny bit hungry and if we had eaten ramen I know that we wouldn’t have been. Myles and Jun was great, it was a little expensive but it was an experience. I am happy we chose to explore Summerville and Myles and Jun!

My vocabulary isn’t extensive enough to explain how much I enjoyed Myles and Jun. To start, don’t let the location fool or scare you… It’s definitely worth the drive from Charleston. When you enter Myles and Jun, you are not entering a restaurant, you are entering a culinary experience led by Jun herself. Once seated, Jun greeted us and asked us if we ever been there and had Yakitori. After we answered that question negative, she gave us the full explanation while we were sipping a sangria based of sake. All herbs are grown by Jun herself and everything is cooked with the utmost respect of their heritage. After that explanation, we started gazing over the huge menu. SOOOOOMANYOPTIONS!!! We just started picking what we think we needed to taste, knowing, we were ordering way to much for two people but hey, once you get here, you want the full monty. We went for the crispy pork belly to start, AMAZING. After that, Wagyu beef yakitori, MIND-BLOWING, than beef tongue, chicken tenders and the third yakitori i forget but again, FANTASTIC. As main course, we both order teriyaki, one shrimp and one chicken. Although we were pretty full after the broth soup and the salad, we were excited about the dish itself that comes with their signature sun-dried tomato butter on the rice and grilled zucchini. Yet again, the flavours were mind blowing especially after adding the white sauce to the rice. Although, I must say… The rice wasn’t really what I expected to be and a bit of a disappointment compared to everything else. But even after the main dish, Jun kept on surprising when we got a complimentary red bean ice cream scoop. No preservatives or added coloring, just one scoop of delicious frozen goodness. If you still wonder why they keep on getting 5 stars on here… You should definitely just go and try it yourself, we’ll talk afterwards

I would not dare give this place anything under a 5. We had just left the Unilocal Tap Event at Oak Brewery and asked Erika where to eat in Summerville. She suggested this place and told us the owner was great and gave out Sangria and other stuff and was constantly trying to make the customers happy. We decided to give it a try. I mean, heck, 180+ reviews and still a 5star. Amazing. We took part of Erika and Chris’ advice and ordered the Chicken Teriyaki. Heather got the Tuna appetizer. I also decided to explore a little and got the Beef Tongue app. While ordering they insisted we try some Sangria. It was delightful! Our waitres was very attentive. The food started now. WE received the clear soup with mushrooms first and it was absolutely perfect. Not too hot. Not too cold. And the flavor was outstanding. Next came the beef tongue and salads(they brought an extra soup and salad without charging us for it). The beef tongue was so flavorful and not tough at all. The wife was a little spooked by it but I loved it and would recommend highly. Y entrée and her Tuna showed up next and now the owner was there. She is fun and really interested in you knowing everything about their style of cooking. She was so nice. The Chicken Teriyaki was absolutely the best I have ever had. So tender. Had mushrooms in it as well. And the rice they serve with it was the perfect combo. I really did well. My wife could not quit eating my dish she liked it so much. And her Tuna was great as well. With Unilocal check in you get a small Saki which was a nice little finish to our meal, or so we thought. The owner insisted that we have a desert which was some sort of bean ice cream with whipped cream, a little chocolate sauce dribbled on top and a sprig of mint. FREE! And it was so good. I totally understand how this place can keep 5 stars and I will not change that. I would venture to say that this is by far the best meal I have had in Summerville. We will be back! As an aside, Scotty, the local Unilocal Rep showed up halfway through our meal. He was with Tim. This was their first time as well here and look forward to seeing how they liked it. Betting they were not disappointed.

This place is amazing! I wanted to go to a place that served Ramen and after searching on Unilocal, this place came up. I am not disappointed at all! Walked in and was quickly greeted by the owner and tried a small sample of the sangria… AMAZING! Once we sat down We went ahead and ordered the crispy pork belly appetizer, and it was so delicious! After looking over the menu trying to figure out what we wanted(everything sounded amazing), I went ahead and got the ramen and Jamie got the wagyu beef and the lamb yakitori with a side of the rice. The wagyu beef literally melted in my mouth, it was so tender. The ramen turned out to be really good, and was really glad that I ordered it. After we ate the beef and the lamb, we decided to get another order of the beef and then try the duck. Everything that we had was so delicious. This place is awesome and we will definitely be back again.

If you’ve never come close to tears from how perfect a dish could be, then you NEED to come here! A perfect date spot, although kids would enjoy it also. The owner is a gem! Very kind and polite and even remembered our first visit a year before. If I could eat here every day, I would. If I had to choose a last meal, it would be here. Items I recommend: Crispy pork belly appetizer. You will question how you ever lived without trying this at least once. The bacon wrapped quail egg yakitori melts in your mouth. The honey toast dessert was mind blowing, I never knew anyone could make a dessert rise above the rest, but this chef did it. I don’t even like Nutella, but the mix of nutella and chocolate drizzle worked excellently with the red bean ice cream. My only regret is that I didn’t try this place sooner. Actually, I recommend anything off the menu… I’ve never had anything here that was less than euphoric. It is so deliciously perfect, that anything you have the next day will be like eating pure disappointment with a side of depression at best lol If Zeus and Jesus wanted the perfect meal, they would come here… and they would cry when they tasted it, it is so SO good. If I had to drive you here myself, I would, it’s THAT good! And if there is a line, just remember good things come to those who wait!

It was an over good experience. The owner passes out fresh made delicious sangria to guests. *always a good way to get 5 stars :) Everything we ate was delicious. Even the beef tongue. Red bean ice cream was good. I don’t know why they put chocolate drizzle on it but it was good. Service was good but they did seem a little short staffed. I felt welcomed and I will be back! The restaurant has a big window front where the parking cars can blind you with their lights coming and going. Maybe some window tinting would help.

Such a surprise visit! We stopped in before a movie in the area for a dinner and boy were we in for a treat! We started off with waters and their house sake sangria(they brought us some free samples — yum yum). It was incredible! I chose to start with the gyoza which were good — not the best I’ve ever had but definitely tasty. I then had the beef and lamb skewer and a chicken skewer. Both of them were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Another member of my party got the chicken teriyaki which was so juicy and tender. Plus, they have this special house rice which is such a nice change from the usual white or brown. We were out of the door in time for the movie and with money in our pockets still. I can’t wait to go back!
