This place went from having the best oatmeal I’ve ever had, to the worst oatmeal I’ve ever had. No texture, just a slimy paste like someone let instant oats cook for too long. This place has kind of fallen in the last year. What happened?

This place is awesome great sandwiches(monstrous) but if you have a teenager(16 year old) it would not be a problem to eat it all. My son had a roast beef sandwich with chips and his friend had a Hawaiian burger(½lb) with fries both were full but was able to share an Oreo bar without giving me a bite. The prices were reasonable. The pecan pie is also great. Will definitely be coming back when we have our next game. The lady was nice and so helpful even though we can 30 minutes before they turn off the grill. Didn’t feel we needed to leave after 7 pm.

Food was good and plenty. Service slow and snarky. Asked for a knife to cut my sandwich. Was told(with tude) that they didn’t have any. Um ok its a resteraunt! Two of three entrees came at the same time. Had to seek out the third.

Best place in sultan! Donuts go fast on the weekends so be sure to get there early. Recently they have ready to go breakfast sandwiches, which is a tasty and filling alternative to their sit-down menu. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and always leave with at least an apple cup!

If you don’t mind carbs or wheat or sugar(oh my diet!) Sultan Bakery is awesome! Fabo homemade bread, get the white, so good. we stop on way to or from(or both) skiing at Steven’s Pass. we’re the ones in ski pants or long johns and bad hair. get the Apple Cup, if you get there early and they haven’t run out. on ski days, they run out often. if out, then, get a chocolate hunk cookie. so good. the cheesecakes and Snickers pie look so yummy! but, I stick with the above mentioned. and a coffee or a cold soda to go. for lunch get a sammy to go, white bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato, turkey, or roast beef, hold the pickle. extra mayo. or grilled cheese and ham, oh for good! take it to the park and eat it or as you drive to skiing. diner, get an open face roast beef w/gravy. nom nom! and get a couple cookies to go. always a great stop on the way to skiing or to Leavenworth.

We stopped in on our way back from hiking, since it looked like THE spot on the way out. Well… it’s definitely A spot… I can’t speak to most of the menu since I can’t eat anything with gluten in it and most of the menu consists of sandwiches. I ordered a caesar salad, which is different from a chicken caesar on their menu, but the woman running the register was obviously new and unfamiliar with most things, so I ended up with a chicken caesar. Whatever, I guess I could have been more specific. Though, after I asked to make sure they didn’t have GF bread, and asked to make sure there weren’t any croutons coming on the salad, I thought it was funny that the split pea soup came with two huge slices of bread… She was new, so I’ll give her a break. So I dig into this chicken caesar salad and realize part way in that it has pineapple chunks in it. I think that may have actually been from the coleslaw, but either way, I definitely wasn’t expecting pineapple in either. The salad was pretty standard cheap diner caesar. I actually thought the split pea was pretty darn good, especially with some sriracha. It was served in a styrofoam cup, though, and seemed like ti was either sitting in a heating tray or microwaved, so that was a bummer. I also had a few cups of coffee — not bad, but definitely weak. My friend got fish n chips, but it only came with two pieces of fish, which were more like fish sticks than anything. I ordered a side of fries because I wanted a little more food, but I wish I hadn’t. They were pretty awful and tasted freezer burned or something. My friend also said the bread wasn’t worth eating after trying it. I guess I’ll finish it off with a few extras. The service was super slow. I get that it’s a busy place and there are only 3 – 4 people working, but there were people waiting a half hour for pretty simple dishes. It didn’t seem like the kitchen was run very efficiently. There was some gnarly ice in the lot that a few people got close to hurting themselves on, and it should be taken into consideration by the owners of the place. Lastly, if you have open insulation and extra tube bulbs and things in the same room as your food storage, don’t have it right above all the food, and don’t have it in open and direct view of the dining room. Not the smartest idea.

Love love love this place!!! Been going here for over 10 years and its always perfect. The maple bars, bismarks, and bear claw maple bar are hands down the most amazing doughnuts everrrr. The sandwiches are HUGE and portions are huge with meals in general here. Only thing is I wish they stayed open later!

They need to change the name to Sultan Café, I stopped by for a loaf of Sourdough bread the and nice girl behind the counter was polite and informed me that they don’t sell bread… Wah Wah Wah jokes on me for stopping at a bakery for a loaf of bread I guess.

This place has become a family tradition whenever we head to Stevens Pass ski resort. The food is always delicious and the portions are gigantic. I have had every breakfast menu item and every donut in that place over my life and there isnt a bad option. Even if you are too full to eat a donut make sure you get one to go. You will thank me later.

A local favorite!!! Parking is easy and a great hole in the wall stop on your way to Stevens pass. The interior is plain. Simple tables with grandpa plastic table clothes but it works. Remember they have customers tracking in mud or snow so what you need to focus on is the food and people watching. A handful of locals can be seen bumping into each other and catching up. Monroe/Sultan has a preserved country pace of life and community spirit and the sultan bakery is one of the hidden gems. 5star on bakery goods and 4 on food. The portion sizes are huge.

This place is definitely a must when heading to the mountains. The food and baked good are the best. The customer service is awesome even when the house is packed.

I had dinner twice here after climbing and backpacking, primarily because of the horrid traffic. I’ve also just recently had cookies and dessert, at the insistence of a friend. Given the available options, perhaps this is OK. The food portions are massive, but the quality is less than stellar. The quesadilla was really salty and greasy and really had no flavor. The pasta was limp and also flavorless, but there certainly was a lot of it. A few days ago, I bought an Oreo cake bar(not sure of the exact name) and chocolate chunk cookies. The Oreo bar’s cake part was really sugary and not very chocolatey. Maybe I was expecting too much, based on the reviews and my friend’s begging insistence that I stop off there? The chocolate chunk cookies were, however, very good. They had just come out of the oven and were gooey and extremely chocolatey. Good cookies are merely a vehicle for getting the chocolate into one’s mouth, and these cookies completed this task in fine fashion. So, cookies good, most everything else so-so. If the traffic is bad, I might stop off there again, but only just for chocolate chunk cookies.

This place is great. I have tried a variety of things from this place, from their doughnuts, their breakfasts, their lunches, and their desserts. Everything I have tried has been great. The only off about this place is that can’t seem to keep anyone employed there. Each time I go in there, there seems to be a help wanted sign and never the same people behind the counter. I find that very odd for a place as busy as this place is each and every time I go there.

I’m going to give them three stars because this was certainly a popular place for breakfast. They must be doing something right. Unfortunately for us, we opted for lighter fare and went with pastries/doughnuts. The selection of such wasn’t impressive and the taste was less so. Coffee wasn’t great either(choice of Farmers Bros or Starbucks in canisters). If that was all this place had to offer, I may have given them two stars. However, the huge breakfast plates coming out of the kitchen looked really good. And people were obviously enjoying their breakfasts. If you are into home-cooked comfort breakfast food, this seems to be the place to go(just don’t bring a young child who will embarass you by commenting on the largeness of some of the customers –ironically, we saw much fatter people later that day at the resort we stayed at).

Good lord. Slices of bread bigger than my head. We got the turkey BLT, open face turkey sandwich, and a kid’s grilled cheese meal, in addition to one of the desserts they offer in their display case. Our meal ran us $ 25, which is half of a Seattle priced lunch and double the serving, and effing delicious. Service was fine. Not super warm or fuzzy. It’s clear they are used to a ton of people passing through, but they are thorough and quick. Debating if the cost of gas is worth it to go there once a week.

I’ve been driving by this place for four years on my way to Skykomish-area hiking or over the hill to Wenatchee and beyond. I now consider passing the Sultan Bakery by to be one of the great mistakes of my life. THISPLACEISAWESOME!!! We stopped in for breakfast on a busy summer Friday morning. The line moved relatively quickly and the woman working behind the counter was very friendly. We ordered real meals and a couple of cookies to take with us on the day’s hike and took a table outside. The food runner/server quickly gave us napkins, utensils, and water and was equally personable. Our meals came out really, really quickly and were delicious. Pro tip: substitute a biscuit for toast and thank me later. The atmosphere inside the bakery is pretty sterile, but the tables outside were great. Far enough from the highway and screened by some shrubs so there wasn’t much noise from passing cars and trucks. We ate a coconut chocolate macadamia cookie at Copper Lake later in the day and it was equally wonderful. I won’t make the mistake of passing this place by again.

Ginormous portions! This is what I’d call a «Mans Meal»! Meatloaf must have been the special of the day because lots of people were ordering it, and it was HUGE. I saw plenty of sandwiches and they also were fit for sharing. I had a slice of lemon cheesecake, which was a deal at less than $ 5, but a tad too sweet for me. The bran muffins were larger than Costco size, and quite good. This is a hoppin’ little place for a small town. I’ll definitely return, and would recommend highly to friends.

Bottom line. Great food. Service is OK. Been here enough to know. family run and they tend to have bad attitudes and are rude. Great Food Rude Staff. Don’t expect to get the warm and fuzzies in this small town establishment. Weird setup. You order at counter and have no waitress/waiter. Kinda weird place. But the food is great.

This place was recommended by a friend and I agree it is worth every STAR!!! First: I must say that clicking on the«directions» link had us turning off US-2 on 5th street and driving around on a little wild goose chase. Finally pulled over and asked someone for directions. So if you come here STAY on US-2E and it will be on your left(north side of US-2). Second: lots of great choices for dinner. I chose the Roast Turkey dinner which was awesome, tasty and huge portions!!! Third: the pastries looked incredible but sadly I was so full there just wasn’t any room. :) Can’t wait to come back!!!
