First & Last Chance Espresso

If you’re on your way to or from Stevens Pass you’ll want to visit Cynthia Burnett and get yourself a nice espresso drink and she’ll even toss a couple chocolate covered espresso beans on top for ya. Drive thru if you’re whipped from a day of skiing, or walk in if you’re freshly energetic and heading up into the pass. The name says it all, it’s your last chance either direction to get an espresso FOR A LONG TIME.
Cynthia also has lots of eclectic things for sale so it’s quite amusing to go inside if you haven’t been before. No more parrots though, she became allergic and had to find new homes for her beloved birds. Just about broke her heart. There are honeybuckets if you need to go potty and some outdoor seating if you’re into watching people fly by on Hwy 2. Not very amusing but sometimes it’s just nice to get your ass out of the car.
Cynthia’s super cool (and takes no shit) and has sort of loosely co-​authored a book with her mother Michelle Murphy entitled «The Barista Diary» about life as a barista in the middle of no freaking where. Basically, something of an autobiography of Cynthia’s life. Check it out and you’ll see what I mean.
