Large portions, friendly staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. Their Cajun plates are amazing, and they make an amazing ribeye steak. Definitely try their pistolettes!

Wound up here because the boyfriend did a search for all you can eat crawfish. Turns out it’s not an all you can eat. It’s sold by either 3 lbs or 5 lbs and is vastly over priced given how plentiful the crawfish harvest is this year. Since we were already here and hungry we decided to go ahead and eat. I wish we hadn’t. The waitress was nice enough, if a little flighty. I do wish she had informed me my burger would come sans sides and those had to be ordered separately. The burger was decent, patty much smaller than the bun do the beginning and end bites were largely bread. A little over kill with the onions. The boyfriend ordered a steak which came out pretty decent, nicely seasoned if the meat was a little fatty it wasn’t a big deal. He got a side salad with it, which was a make your own at the buffet bar. Was shredded lettuce which is always a little weird. He couldn’t locate any dressing and was beginning to despair by this point. His other side was coleslaw. Don’t know how that was as it was never brought to us. The waitress dropped off the«bill» with the food and disappeared into the night. I say«bill» but it was just what we ordered and in the short hand often used in restaurants. There was no mention on the«bill» about the coleslaw so perhaps that’s why we didn’t get it.

Stopped here on the way back from New Orleans back in June – we just had a few pounds of the crawfish, and they were great! Not a fancy spot at all, but the staff is nice and friendly and the food is good. Only complaint was that the beer was kinda old, but I don’t think this is a big drinking spot, so I’m not sure how often they restock. Def recommend for the food!

Good food. I had the crawfish Pistolettes because everyone in the reviews had it. The chicken/sausage gumbo was good. Fried Catfish meal was a bit bland for my taste. Coleslaw was pretty tasty. Overall, I was satisfied but nothing to compare it to yet.

The crawfish pistollettes are great and the homemade fried okra was also really good. And truly southern sweeeet tea!

SO disappointing! We’ve been here numerous times and usually the crawfish pistolettes are excellent. This time we also got boudin balls and crawfish balls and cracklings. Where do I begin? The boudin balls and crawfish are tiny one bite. Flavor was just so so. The crawfish pistolettes were good, but not great by any means. The crackling had no crack to them. They were soft and spongey with very little seasoning. They were actually BAD. It had been probably a couple of years since we had been to the Boiling Point. We usually stop at Don’s for our boudin & crackling fix on our way through, but skipped Don’s to stop here. Big mistake! Now I remember why we haven’t been here lately: terrible service!!! She actually scoffed when we asked for napkins. I highly recommend you skip the Boiling Point.

Horrible. Crawfish took 30 minutes to come out, and they were super hard to peel. Seems like the were sitting forever. Never got asked if we needed another drink in the hour we were in the place! One waitress for 10 tables.

Pistolettes are good, but not the awesome I previously reported. The crawfish boudin is mostly rice and very few crawfish. The oysters were really good, but I only had three on my poboy. The service is a mess. We waited forever for a poboy and appetizers and should have left for the quality of food this time. Hopeful it gets better, but won’t drive out of my way next time.

Terrible food! This a dive that won’t make DDD. I got shrimp salad and it was was ex small shrimp and my husband got a shrimp poboy a gumbo which was on a large hotdog bun and the gumbo he couldn’t finish. Won’t be back! I think there specialty is boiled.

The fried oysters are amazing! The seafood buffet is decent, but I think it’s a little over priced. Super sweet waitress and great sweet tea. They also have good gumbo.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I really wasn’t sure about it. I usually like to try local flavors and this one did NOT disappoint! I had never had boudin and was given a «sample» of the spicy and mild, except these samples were huge, they looked like they were a half a sausage each. I ate both and loved it. I was pretty full already when one patron insisted that I try a pistolettes. HOLYMOTHEROFGOD there is a Santa Clause! What a decadent piece of heaven THAT was! I won’t DARE mention the Oeey Gooey Cake! I’d weight 600 lbs if I lived within a couple hours of this place. Don’t let the outside fool you, this place ROCKS!

Had the crawfish and hamburger pistolettes. Super good and cheesy. Also ordered the 16oz ribeye. Ribeye was cooked right and seasoned well. Fries arrived about 20 minutes after the steak did. Waitress polite and funny. Homemade desserts $ 4 include«ooey-gooey cake», baked banana pudding, lemon pound cake, and german choclate. Worth it.

Dropped in to The Boiling Point last Friday, August 1 with our favorite couple to fulfill my craving for some pistolettes. I must say you cannot find a better pistolette than they serve there. I had a seafood pistolette for an appetizer and the crawfish platter for dinner. While the crawfish dinner was good the best thing on it was the crawfish pistolette. Not a fancy place by any means but good food and friendly wait staff. If you are in the area drop in and enjoy some very good Cajun seafood.

We were on our way to Florida from Arizona. Hidden Ponds RV park recommended this restaurant. Delicious Cajun food, good waitress service. The only negative side is that they take too long to serve the food. We were there twice and had the same problem.

Took the family here for dinner after reading reviews. It was late so the crowd was small and we were served quickly. The waitress was awesome and the food was amazing. I made sure to try the pistolettes after reading other reviews. The seafood pistolette was amazing. I could make a meal out of them.

Wow. For us Californians this was one Awsome Meal. We followed the advice of fellow Unilocalers. We started with seafood Pistoletts. Never have I had anything like this, so delicious this fried donut type food filled with a saucy sea food mixture. I ordered the Crawfish Platter that was a huge portion of Fried Crawfish, A2-Fay(creamed spicy crawfish over rice) salad and a cup pg Crawfish Gumbo. All good, Oh so Good. My husband had a small dinner of Pop Corn Shrimp Dinner. A huge portion more than he could eat as it came with slaw and hush puppies and fries. He started with a Pistollete and a sausage Gumbo. Nice and spicy. No complaints from us. We would eat here again.

I was not impressed with The Boiling Point. The food presentation, while not something that I would usually comment on, needs to be mentioned. I was given a disposable Styrofoam plate with food seemingly thrown on to it with no regard to plating or presentation. The staff was inattentive, my food under seasoned, and only my entrée was delivered hot. The Food: I ordered grilled catfish, which was under seasoned and not very good, which came with a roll that I could have picked up in the freezer section of a grocery store, salad that was only lettuce and diced tomatoes, and finally peach cobbler that was mediocre at best. The Verdict: Steer clear of The Boiling Point. There are other Cajun restaurants in the Sulphur/Lake Charles area more worthy of your patronage.

The crawfish pistolettes are delicious. Tastes like a seafood donut… Also the gumbo(both kinds) were very tasty. Very friendly service, locals place. Good place to stop on your drive through… right off Interstate 10. Real dizzle Cajun food.

Best coleslaw I have ever tasted! Even mom ate it and she hates coleslaw! There is nothing fancy here, just good old fashion cajun cooking. The catfish was spicy, just the way I like. Great service, beer on tap, and tasty food. What more could you ask for?
