This place is great, being one of the Reyes family restaurants you can be assured the food is awesome. It all started in Greenville, Tx with«Grandma Reyes» then Bino opened this one in Sulphur Springs and one in Commerce. The only other Reyes family El Charro is in Commerce, Tx and it is great as well.

The Mexican food here is authentically served from a can – or at least that is the way it tastes. Very bland. The hot sauce is good, but if that is all one can say about a restaurant, then why would one spend more than $ 2 here. The wait staff is not overly friendly, but adequate. There is usually no crowd, so no worry about standing in line. The last time I was there, El Charro did not accept credit or debit cards. Why would anyone go to a restaurant that has not joined the 21st century? There is parking in the back. If someone else was paying, I would eat at El Charro.

El Charro is a joke in terms of being a «Mexican» Restaurant. My husband and I tried El Charro and didn’t even finish our meals. He had the enchilada plate and I had a combo plate. However, prior to our orders arriving we «dined» on the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is a glorified chopped rotel, not much can be appreciated there. Our meals weren’t any better. I only ate one item on my plate and it was second rate at best. My husband and I wont be back

I’ve been eating here my entire life; this is the home of the best soft cheese enchiladas ever! Perfect rice and beans. Great guacamole tostadas. Really good chips and simple tomato salsa. The waitresses are so friendly and service is always great!
