Horrible customer service. The tables were dirty. There were bootleggers trying to sell you items right as you walk in the door. Their menu is unclear about pricing and additional charges on certain menu items. The prices on the menu are different from what is advertised on the menu board/wall. I cannot comment on how the food tasted because the cashier was confused about the order because my friend and I were deciding between two things. We ordered one and she gave us the wrong one. Instead of offering to fix our order, she was rude and defensive and told us she would give us a refund. I will not try to patronize this business again.

Absolutely love this place! There is such a wide variety of items on the menu that can suit anyones tastebuds. The crabs are well-seasoned & not salty(which I appreciate). The fish is fried to perfection & crispy beyond words. I highly recommend trying the hushpuppies too! This is a must try place for anyone who is in the area & want something good to eat without breaking the bank!

Damn!!! I love this place. I’m working all week in PG and finding good food close to my hotel has been a struggle. Unilocal lead me here and I’m glad I followed. It’s a little fish market with a broad fried and steamed menu of anything fish and crab you can imagine. I was stunned. I had the soft shell crab sandwich which was a steal at $ 7. I also ordered the cream of crab soup to take back to the hotel. Am I coming back? Hell yes!

I have been going to this place for the past 4 years. I absolutely love their Tilapia dinner and my husband loves the black bass and the trout dinner. We usually get our crabs from this spot too, the large or jumbo male crabs are excellent when in season! The boot leggers can be annoying at times but other than that. great food.

Generally this is a good spot for seafood and crabs. It can be a little hit or miss on some days. But, it is staffed by the same cooks, counter person and groups of people each time I visit. The rush of hustle men that impede the entrance is strange. But, they have the goods I guess. Anyway I digress: The food is great. I haven’t had the full menu. But, the seafodd is fresh, fried well, and is a good serving size and price. Their shrimp are a medium to large size. Their platters come with Potato wedges and slaw. I’ll have to check out the rest of the menu, esp. their southern cusine.

I am a fan of this restaurant in Suitland, MD. But don’t be twisted. I was there on last week and I paid with my check card. I looked at my account today and they charged me for the same meal that next day, which I didn’t visit the restaurant that following day. I have called my bank to report this fraud charge. Be very careful, the food is good, but nobody is going to pay double for something they did not charge. If you pay with your check card and/or credit card please check your accounts. They also charged my God-sister double too on the same day.

I don’t know why they changed the way they fry their fish but it is disgusting. They have lost a customer. Bought the fried whiting platter and the coating was yuck and the fish was mushy.

Wow! Went to this spot for the first time tonight and ordered the chicken wing & trout filet combo which came with potato wedges and cole slaw, Everything was very tasty and seasoned well(not salty). Oh I also had a taste of a friends fresh collard greens and they were the bomb too! When I’m in the area again this will be my #1 spot for a fish dinner.

Let’s start off with the fact that my shellfish-averse behind has NO business in this joint.(and we’re not going to address the fact that I’m dieting and shouldn’t be eating anything fried. Oh well. Sue me.) Since I moved to Clinton I’ve been looking for good eats. My brother in law brought dinner for my sister from this place and it looked AWESOME so the next time he was picking up I asked for crab cakes*(I asterisk this because AGAIN, I shouldn’t be messing with shellfish). He came back with a ½ pound fried crab cake sandwich(two cakes) combo that included potato wedges and cole slaw. Lawd. I was in love right there. They are served piping hot — with a crispy, exterior that still lends itself to falling-apart goodness. Lots of lumps, not too much filler. I also haven’t the issue with the shells that somebody else mentioned. Yesterday while I was about and about looking for another hidden gem me and the Mr. decided to stop here for lunch(he’d never been). This man is so picky it isn’t funny… as in three of the last four places I picked he has put on the«we’re not coming back» list. I totally redeemed myself yesterday. He is just as much in love as I am. I may have to try the fried fish next trip(or hit some of the other soul food options they’ve got as they look HELLA tasty), but those fried crab cakes are EVERYTHING a chick needed. Plus, for $ 10.99 including sides we came out better than we would have had we gone to our favorite burger joint. I was also pleasantly surprised NOT to get hassled by #TeamBootleg(as I was the last couple times I was there).

Gross. They did not have many of their menu items available when we called in. And when we got there, they had more than what was on their take out menus. All sides are extra, even on the combo meals. We wanted grilled scallops but they didn’t have it, so we got fried. They were just really gross. The fried shrimp was dry. We wanted the spicy shrimp, but they didn’t have it. The crab cake sandwich tasted like it had scrabble shell in it. The hush puppies were bad. The greens were they only thing that was ok. I want those calories wasted back! $ 28 for 2 people, so not like a deal or anything either.

Great fish and reasonable prices. Lots of food for the price. It would be nice if they had a menu like most fast food places.

The fish is always fresh and the staff is always welcoming. I wish they fried the hush puppies in different oil — they tasted like fish puppies.

The $ 4.99 lunch special is a wonderful deal if you’re craving fried fish. Just be sure to order the fish fried simply in cornmeal and you will be happy with the down-home/fish-fry results:) And they give you a LOT of fish. 5 or 6 huge pieces of whiting came with mine along with fried potato wedges and cole slaw and 2 pieces of white bread; the sides were pretty good, too! I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and although we don’t claim many«talents» one thing we have in abundance are delicious and cheap food carryouts – namely bbq and seafood/fish – so I’m used to being able to get very well prepared fried fish dinners for cheap. I dunno what it is with the DC-area, but in general I find many places do not quite know HOW to best prepare the abundant fresh seafood that this area offers! And that is tragic. This rant probably doesn’t belong“here” but needed to get that off my chest! My husband has actually been driving down to Horace and Dickies( ) in DC when he wants fried fish(and to me H&D is just OK), so I informed him he can now just head around the corner – as long as he specifies CORNMEAL, please!

There’s a well known saying that Americans will eat anything fried, and it’s probably true. At least, it is true for me when it comes to fish. Yes, if you fry it, I will eat it. I have a soft spot for fried fish; I always have. And, the $ 4.99 fried trout dinner at Today’s in Suitland is one of the best deals anywhere in the DC area. It is an unadulterated steal for the amount of fish(and the quality of fish) that they serve up. For that paltry sum, they offer three pieces of wholesome trout filets(with complimentary cocktail and tartar sauce), huge potato wedges, and a small container of Cole slaw.
However, of course, all of that would be rather meaningless if the fish were not well prepared. But, in fact, it is. The trout comes out hot and crispy and is totally engrossing. Each bite is a tangible and textural interplay of the corn meal dusted exterior and the flaky interior. While, on the whole, the fried trout is not the best that I have ever had, it is, nonetheless, legitimately first-rate and, certainly, in the top tier. The sides are serviceable and complementary and nothing to hoot and holler about necessarily. However, the other seafood that they offer is staggering in both its breadth and expansiveness. Other than buying fish or shellfish(like crabs) whole and raw, which customers can certainly do, they can also order cooked seafood of all varieties… Oysters, scallops, clams, shrimp, whiting, perch, catfish, flounder, tilapia, cod, red snapper, and much, much more. And, yes… it’s all gloriously fried. Of course, if all of this fried goodness does not seem enticing, there is the option of ordering Korean B.B.Q. of all things. For $ 6.99, customers may order grilled beef, chicken, or PORK(which comes with fried rice and kimchi)! With a deal like this, who needs Annandale? Eat your heart out Honey Pig(Gooldaegee) Grill!
