I was in school, and I needed money in a pinch. I had to get a loan for my ps3 and about 10 games(they rejected a couple), two wireless controllers(with wires), and all the trimmings, a digital camera, a Nintendo Wii(controllers, and games), and my first guitar(Bessie, she was an electric black, and the one I learned to play on, dusty, but in pristine condition, I even restrung her), and Bessie’s buddy-Mr. Portable Amp. All-in-All, all I got was under 200, and the payments were just under 30 dollars a month if I needed couldn’t get them out(which, seeing as how I was in school as a veterinary assistant, the job search, I found out, was quite bleak). So, unfortunately, I was late on a payment. This, in itself, wouldn’t have been so bad, but, they called me the day of(THEDAYOF) my late payment, and said, «You have until the end of the day to make your payment, or everything will go to sale, we close at 6PM.» Then, I get there a few days later, with money to make a payment(I was hoping that they’d figure if someone’s late, they can’t do it in the middle of the week, unless its a Friday, and they have to beg people for money, either way…), and true to their word, everything was sent to sale. What made this experience stick in my craw, was the fact that not only had they called me the day of, but when I got there, they had already sold the Wii, and quite a few games, not only that… The PS3 alone, was going for 180, 1 freaking 80(Bessie, by the way, I was only given 20 for, with her buddy). I couldn’t even get everything on loan over 200 for my tuition fees. Heartbroken is a very grand understatement. — See more at:

It’s called First Cash Pawn now actually. And I should’ve followed my gut and went back to Crown Pawnbrokers in NWDC. I got the runaround about that I needed bringing in the receipt for the new camera and then I get there then they say it needs to be the in-store receipt when I told them my ‘1st visit that I bought it online they didn’t say they probably wouldn’t accept it then and then on my 2nd visit they decided to accept my online receipt. I paid 470 for a brand-new camera and didn’t expect to be I feel practically ripped off for such a nice and brand-new item. I was told all of MD and practically everywhere else(one of the worker’s words) there’s a 1⁄3 value cash back policy. So I got just under that a whole 150 for it and 40 for a practically new 150 dollar ipod. Even in a pawn shop if you want back somewhat decent dough for your items ESPECIALLY brand new or like new items PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE go somewhere else.
