My sister had a delicious soup. My sandwich and my brother’s sandwich were good. However, as the staff was extremely busy, I took two plates up to the counter, one of which was covered in egg yolk. I was told by the owner or manager, in a sharp tone, to sit down and take the plates back to the table! I was so taken aback that I just stood there for a moment and then the waitress came over and took the plates. Unkind and unprofessional way to talk to anyone.

This place is great. There’s an elegance to the design that betrays its location in a little(albeit attractive) mall, and the staff was friendly, genuine, and helpful. The menu is limited because they change it every day, and focus on making a few very well prepared items. I had a bowl of perfectly spiced tomato soup and a side of roasted Brussels sprouts with rosemary. My lunch mate enjoyed her panini(I forget what kind) and her cup of tomato soup. My friend and I were having a meeting and they let us sit for as long as we wanted after we finished eating(which, of course, we wouldn’t have done if people had been waiting for a table in this small establishment). When I was paying, I noticed that they carry Molly Chomper hard cider from a new cidery in nearby Ashe County, and I got a bottle to try. I love their décor, their food, and their ethos of supporting other local small businesses. Great place. Can’t wait to go back.

Went in there for a cup of coffee and was so pleasantly surprised! Incredibly nice staff, the food looked amazing and fresh and the atmosphere was so charming! I also accidentally left my debit card there and they immediately mailed it to me with a kind note. Such a great find!

We stumbled upon this gem. Open 11−3…delicious food and extremely nice people! We arrived just as they were getting ready to close(after a delightful hike up Grandfather mountain) and they could not have been more accommodating. So glad we took a chance on this. Yummy! :)

Reid’s is a breath of fresh air in Banner Elk on 105. The food was amazing. Great quality, intriguing choices, homemade pickles and pickled veggies, and delicious sides along with top quality entrées. Loved the soup too. Simple but high class décor with Mazama pottery and French press coffee. Try it – you’ll love it. Can’t wait to go back.
