My first waxing service in Houston, and also the best of a lifetime. It’s hard to find a good waxing pro, and I got lucky from the first try here. The place is clean, and Farah does her best to accommodate your needs. Excellent job in 15 mins? Not a problem! The price is good, too.

I was talking to a friend about Survivor, the reality show where people voluntarily live on an island with no first world comforts for a chance to win money. He was concerned about whether female contestants get razors to shave with, because nobody wants to see hairy pits. SERIOUSLY? We’re desensitized to blood and guts and gore, but oh no, hair is just too revolting for TV? This is the society we live in now. I just can’t.
Since you’re not fortunate enough to live in Europe, where they go au naturale (and also don’t know deodorant’s a thing), you’ve probably waxed or shaved hundreds of times. Hair grows back too quickly after a shave, so you’re left with bearing the pain of waxing. Since I’m not crazy enough to do at-​home waxing, having a specialist who knows what she’s doing REALLY makes a difference.
Farah knows her shit and she’s a waxing goddess. She uses hard wax instead of strips, and her technique minimizes pain because she immediately applies pressure to the waxed area. I can’t begin to express how much it helps, especially for those SENSITIVE areas, nawmsayin? She’s very quick but thorough. I tried looking and couldn’t find a single hair left.
Another reason why Farah is so awesome is that she knows you’re nervous. She’s cheerful and chatty throughout the procedure, so your mind is distracted. She’s very knowledgeable about waxing, so feel free to ask her all your pre/​post care questions. Also, her playlist is on point. Who knew The Weeknd’s voice would be the perfect musical complement to getting your fill-​in-​the-​blank waxed?
Here are some tips for success prior to your appointment:
1. Exfoliate. There are few things in this world as evil as ingrown hairs. There’s the devil himself, Hitler, then ingrown hairs.
2. Shower. You know how you’d smell otherwise.
3. Trim, or she can do this for you on site, and you’ll just feel like a hairy beast.
4. Be on time. It’s not that hard. She’s literally booked back to back, so don’t be that jerk who runs into someone else’s time slot.
5. If she doesn’t answer when you call to book an appointment, leave a message. She’ll call back to confirm.
6. The Unilocal check-​in offers 20% off for two services.
Farah tells me that some people get addicted to waxing. I’m not a masochist, so I don’t know how that happens. But for the least uncomfortable experience, get waxed here.

Today was my first experience with body waxing. Farah was absolutely amazing, everything was very quick but thorough. She is very friendly and knows how to put her clients at ease. Such a cute boutique, literally 2 minutes from my house. Quit using EWC about a year ago… so happy to have found Farrah! She’s so funny & I also love that the painless wax add on is an option, she really makes it as painless as possible anyways, but since I didn’t even know that was available, I will totally be trying that next time! I was very impressed at how quick and painless the Brazilian wax service was. I felt comfortable and it was done in a blink of an eye. Plus side is no regrowth for the longest time! Farah is truly professional and knows what she’s doing. I’m so glad I found this place!

I came to this place through a living social voucher and it has been the best experience so far with Brazilian waxing. Farah was very friendly and easy to talk to. My favorite thing about her is that she is super fast in waxing. The whole thing was over in about 15mins. The hot towel really does help with the pain and overall it was bearable. I will continue with her services here in the future.

I came to Farah through a LivingSocial voucher. The voucher was for a brazilian and underarm, but she accommodated my request to swap the underarm for an eyebrow since they cost the same. She was also able to schedule me the week before my appointment, which was great since I’m used to scheduling at least 2 weeks im advance.
***Just a heads up: her studio is housed in Image Salon Studios, a salon «mall» of sorts with different beauty services in each suite. So don’t go looking for a sign that says The Waxing Boutique, look for Image Salon Studios. Farah’s boutique is just one suite in the studio.***
The studio itself is pretty tiny; just enough room for a waxing bed, a counter for her supplies, and a hair styling station in the corner (she does hair and makeup too). Farah went over the basic questions, ie have you ever gotten waxed before, etc., and we got started. She used hot towels beforehand, which was nice. The wax itself was a hard wax, and of course she never double dipped.
I will say one thing: this was by far the chattiest wax I have ever had! Personally, I appreciated that about her. Farah was really easy to talk to, she kind of reminded me of Mindy Kaling. I felt comfortable and at ease, even when she was forcibly ripping hair out of my body (ow). She made me laugh throughout the wax, and that’s something that not all estheticians can do. In terms of pain, this brazilian was average, bordering on minimal.
I wasn’t as satisfied with my eyebrow wax — they looked great after but the hair grew back really quickly. It was my first eyebrow wax, and I think I’ll stick to threading.
Overall, I had a great experience here. Farah made a good impression on me and I am planning on returning next time I come home!

Getting Brazilian waxes for almost 2 years now, I decided to try a new place to support small, local businesses, which led me to The Waxing Boutique. After calling last minute for a Brazilian Wax since I was in the area, Farah was extremely accommodating and offered me an appointment within the hour, Farah personally escorted me from the entrance to her quaint, clean shop and about 20 minutes later with little pain, voila!
Overall, I am very satisfied with Farah’s service. She is meticulous, fun to talk to, knowledgeable and makes the experience virtually pain free. Her prices are also competitive with other waxing place.
Things I noted:
— No double dipping (extremely important for sanitary reasons)
— No pushy sales for products afterward
— Calming ambiance
— Wax used is stretchier than European Wax Center’s wax
I will definitely be going back to The Waxing Boutique for future waxing services!

The waxing boutique is my new waxing spot. I’ve tried many different places an types of wax but nothing seems to suit my skin. Getting my arms and legs waxed isn’t usually the issue but I also get my face waxed which isn’t so simple. Almost every place I’ve gone to for my face waxing, I’ve broken out after. My face usually turns very red and bumpy followed by break outs. However, after getting my face waxed at the waxing boutique, I have not yet broken out! I will definitely be returning.
