I had surgery here last year(July 2014), and while my experience at the location was pleasant(at least to my knowledge… I was under anesthesia for about 90% of the time), my experience PAYINGFORTHIS is the absolute WORST service I have ever encountered. I was told PRIOR to my surgery not to worry about anything when I went up to the register to take care of any remaining balances. I asked if there was anything that I needed to pay for, and they said that it was fine. Had they at least TOLD me before my surgery that I would have to pay some kind of additional fee, I wouldn’t be so upset, but they literally told me nothing of the nature. I was in the center for less than half a day. Came in the morning and left before lunch. LESSTHANHALF A DAY. I received a bill for services rendered up to $ 30,000… fortunately I do have insurance, but even then, my side ended up being $ 3,000+. I had NO idea that I would have to pay $ 3,000 out of pocket on TOP of the other fees I paid for the surgery itself. This was a FOOT surgery that lasted less than a day… they didn’t bring me back to life or anything. If I had known about the $ 3,000+, that’s one thing, or if I was dying and stayed at the center for a couple of days, that’s another thing… but again, Oakbend did not tell me ANYTHING about these fees before my surgery. I called 3 – 4 times(you can check, they’ve «recorded my conversations») to clarify the situation, but I was unable to reach any management whatsoever. They circumvented my calls. Then, I started receiving random bills for another woman who was of the same race as me(Vietnamese) for $ 1,000+. I called again to tell them to stop billing me for that woman. They did for a month. Then I received her bill again. And again. And again. I set up a monthly payment plan for MY bill, but it suddenly stopped, they never told me about it. I only noticed because I check my credit card statements and noticed that I wasn’t paying off my Oakland Medical Center payment, and I like to make sure I pay all my bills on time! I called again. Supposedly they switched to a new system and«notified» everyone… not true. I set up ANOTHER payment plan again, and I was told that I would receive a 10-day notice prior to each monthly payment. It’s been two months, and I receive no notices. I only pay on time because I actually set up a notification on my phone to alert me. This is beyond ridiculous. You can never reach management if you call. They never give explanations. Their records/paperwork is clearly terrible because they keep billing the WRONG people multiple times and they never send out«notifications’ like they say they do. I’m a pretty patient person, but this is OUTOFCONTROL. I will NEVER go here for any service ever. THEYNEEDTOFIXTHEIRCUSTOMERSERVICEANDTHEWAYTHEYHANDLEPAYMENTANDCOMMUNICATINGWITHTHEIRCUSTOMERS.

This is one of the worst practices ever! They do not care about patients. The medical assistant Gladys is the rudest staff I have ever seen in any practice! Wonder how they can run a practice with this kind of employees! Be very careful as others in the practice will not say anything but they are all working together to cover each other. The doctors behave as if they would rather side on their rude and lazy support staff.

I am an active duty service member serving overseas with my wife. The place we are stationed does not offer great prenatal great, in particular the first trimester screening. Neither doctor at Dr. Swords clinic is willing to see my wife for her screening, even though she will be giving birth in the Houston area. The office stated they are not willing to take her case on because she will bot be seeing them for the whole process. The standard pregnancy visits would all be conducted in the country we are located and all paperwork would be forwarded to the office. This office is still unwilling to support a military family who is in need and stationed overseas.

Worst visit to the doctor, ever! I actually had this doctor tell me «I’m not going to argue with you!» Instead of listening to his patient, he chose to ignore me and force his opinion as the only and the only«right» opinion. For the first time in my life, I walked out of a doctors office in complete disbelief and frustration that a person in this kind of position would rather hurt than help his patients! Instead of trying to stop and help me(his paying client), he could care less and let me leave with no solution to my illness. I am a mom of two very young kids and its not easy for us moms to just get up and take ourselves to the doctor all the while bringing along little ones who are also sick. His crude choice of words and tone repeat in my mind and all I can say is Im so so so disappointed that this doctor had less than no compassion! Im sure not all doctors in this group are this way, but, if you can, please avoid Dr. Anzadula. It was complete waste of my time and money. And, to top it all off, I’m still sick and have to find a new doctor and pay more money out of my pocket because the first one didn’t feel like doing what he educated himself to do.
