Convenient location because I’m in their delivery zone. I’ve never been to their actual storefront, but that’s okay, I do like eating at home; sometimes. Pretty decent menu. Some tofu filled options. One’s I’ve tried: general tso’s tofu, sesame tofu, and crispy tofu w/bean blend. All good, but I’ll have to say it’s a tie between the sesame and bean blend. Nice staff and super fast delivery($ 15 minimum). Pros: + Good variety on the menu. + Good taste. + Good location. + Fast delivery + Good value(Free drinks with your meal). + Vegan/vegetarian options. Cons: -/+ Person taking my order had to get an English translator. Not the biggest of deals, but a little annoying, because the order took an extra 10 minutes to make. They were super nice though. Overall, they have a little of everything. Their Lo Mein is really good and all of their food is well-prepared. If you live in their delivery zone, order now! If you don’t, I’d still give them a shot.

Not bad at all. My family discovered this place about a month or so ago and have ordered delivery maybe 3 or 4 times since. Only tofu dishes reviewed here 1. Tofu with Crispy Bean Blend — Breaded tofu with spicy crispy bean crumb fried pieces… amazing. probably not the healthier choice, but I LOVE this. Reminds me of a really good salt and pepper tofu but delicious-er 2. General Tso’s Tofu– Cooked well done… just how I like it. Not too spicy but solid. 3. Sesame Tofu– Delicious Broccoli. Tofu was okay. Maybe because I like my dishes at least slightly spicy. But I definitely would order this again and it was tasty. I got this with the fried rice which was a little too eggy for me but again that’s my preference. 4. Vegetable lo mein — despite looking like it wasn’t going to be very tasteful or well-seasoned it actually was pretty good. Not super oily like a lot of lo mein had to be but pretty good. My husband and I ended up eating the whole thing even though we have plans to only have it in addition to our actual meal. Good sign. Each time we ordered has been delivery and delivery time is scary fast. I mean we don’t live super far or anything from the location but still there is another local Chinese food place that usually takes almost an hour to deliver despite being even closer to our home. That’s a plus when we are starving. This will definitely become our new delivery staple. Nice addition to the area.

We dined in during the happy hour that was advertised on the menu we picked up earlier that week. Waitress brought the bill with no discounts. I asked about the 20% off for happy hour and she said, non apologetically, happy hour is cancelled. Period. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it because I didn’t want to upset my daughter, but I see this as false advertising. I gave them another chance because, honestly, the chef is fantastic. But had to deal with the same waitress. There was a tiny body hair on my sushi. I just asked for the one piece to be replaced. The chef actually remade the whole dish. I was impressed. But when the waitress brought it to me, she started to examine my daughter’s hair. Then she said, your daughter has curly hair, we Asians have straight hair. She was actually blaming me for the little tiny body hair on the sushi. I was actually offended! This was unnecessary. Immediately after this there was a small argument between her and the chef. I think he said something to her about it, she yelled back. But I’m just making assumptions since I don’t speak the language. Also, no alcohol is served here. Be aware.

Mr. Weng’s just opened close to our house. My husband and I had noticed and decided to give it a try next time we had the chance. Fast forward to tonight(New Years Eve). I had a yen for Sushi, so we loaded up the 6 yr. old and and the baby and headed to Mr. Weng’s. The restaurant is small, it looks like it’s meant for the lunch crowd, a cute little sushi bar sits up front if you want to sit there. The place was totally empty, which suited me just fine as we had two kids with us. The menu is pretty big, typical Chinese fare and then a medium size variety of sushi options. I saw they offered bento boxes(which I’m a sucker for), plus other sushi combos. We ordered the rice noodles and pork pot stickers for the kids to share(the kids loved both of these dishes, they were very tasty). I ordered a salmon teriyaki bento, which came with a salad, miso soup, and 4 Pc California roll. My husband ordered the $ 25.00 sushi combo. The sushi/sashimi combo was awesome, fish was fresh, delicious… I loved my bento box, miso was great, salad dressing was tasty. All in all I have zero complaints. I should also add that the waitstaff was very attentive to my children, even giving them lollipops at the end of the meal! Plus food came out super fast. All in all, I Loved it here, and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!

If you like good food, order the salted shrimp. It is so good I cannot experiment with ordering anything else.

This is the most bland Chinese food I’ve had in years. Nothing is seasoned well. I ordered shrimp and garlic sauce there’s no spice nor seasoning. I wanted egg drop soup with wontons added. They wanted to charge $ 2 per wonton so I skipped it. My egg drop soup has mushrooms, carrots, and peas in it(which I’ve NEVER seen). There is no flavor and no seasoning. I also ordered dumplings. I was expecting the dumplings like the ones in the picture in the menu(which are my favorite kind), I received thin poorly flavored, low key disgusting dumplings. I almost stopped in Frenchy’s but wanted to give this place a shot. Never again. Chinese food is some of my favorite food to have but today was a complete waste of $ 16.

Seafood Hot & Sour soup for 2@$ 5.95 Egg Drop soup for 2@$ 4.00 Beef Chow Fun@$ 8.95 The quantity and price of the soups can’t be beat. Had 2 sick elementary aged kids and this took care of lunch and dinner for them on a sick day. The beef chow fun was my reward for leaving work and having to nurse 2 heathens back to health. If you’re craving chow fun around West Airport & Eldridge, this place is definitely worth a shot. The soups are delicious and very well priced!

I’m glad Mr. Wengs opened near my neighborhood and unlike some of the generic Chinese food places along West Airport, they serve premium Chinese food as well as very good fresh variety of sushi. They have some of the best staple American-Chinese food like General Tso Chicken, Kung Pao beef to more authentic Taiwanese braised pork, sizzling rice soup, and boiled fish in chili oil. The lunch specials are great value as well as sushi happy hour. The staff is always friendly as well.

I wanted to try something new, so I decided to order to-go at this place. Since this restaurant is very near my workplace, I was hoping that it would meet my expectations. I was excited when I saw the menu as it had a lot of variety. This is both a Sushi and Chinese restaurant, which is kind of a unique combination. In this area where there aren’t many Chinese or Sushi restaurants nearby, there is much potential for business as long as the food tastes ok. The place was small, but it had a good number of tables. When you first walk in, you will see the sushi station. The restaurant is clean, and service was pretty fast. On the evening I visited, there weren’t much customers. There was a group of three people eating in, and one guy ordering to-go. I think both of my orders could be better, but it doesn’t mean I wasn’t satisfied. I ordered the fish in hot oil and the crispy fried chicken. The ingredients were fresh, and the amount of food for each dish was very good. I think the crispy fried chicken was good as it was crispy but not hard, and the pieces of chicken were a good size. If you like the taste of Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, this is a preferable option. I also got two boxes of white rice packed nicely in my to-go box and a lot of sauces. However, I thought the taste of the hot oil fish was bland, and I’m not too thrilled about the packing of the to-go. The order of the fish in hot oil also spilled from the to-go container so it was messy when I got home. In addition, although I don’t mind coming back again once in a while, I did not feel the dishes I ordered were memorable. I would like to come back to try other dishes and the sushi on another day though. Perhaps it will be more memorable next time. Also, if you ordered a certain amount, they will give you a 10% discount on next visit. For example, I ordered around $ 20 so they gave me 10% off of that so next time I get $ 2 off my next visit.

This place did not live up to my expectations. For all the reviews that said the food was good. I don’t think so. The eggroll and sushi rolls that came with the pork katsu bento box was horrible. This place is off my list, and I’m never coming back.

I work in the Industrial part of Sugar Land and sadly we have only fast food restaurants. So when I saw Mr. Weng’s I was curious but expecting it to be just another Chinese place. Today at work I ordered in via their website. It was easy to navigate and get my order in. When I went to pick up my order I was amazed at the interior of the restaurant. It is not just any little Chinese restaurant it actually looks like a very nice Japanese/Sushi Restaurant. The lady at the cashier was having trouble and somehow over charged me by a dollar. I wasn’t upset or bothered by it so I told her not to worry. She was very concerned by the mess up and wanted to make it right(which I do really appreciate) she ended up in return giving me a $ 5 off next visit which I thought was VERY nice. At that point walking out with my food I was hoping I would be back to use it. I traveled 15 min. home before breaking into my food and was a little worried it wouldn’t be as fresh but boy was I wrong. My family and I split: Fresh Water Eel(Unagi)(Sushi), Super White Tuna(Sushi), Philadelphia Roll, Dragon Roll, Seaweed Salad and Chicken Fried Rice. The sushi was AMAZING! For the price you cant beat it. I was shocked at how FRESH the fish was. Some big well known Sushi restaurants in the area don’t have as fresh fish! The Chicken Fried Rice was VERY delicious and I would 100% order it again. I wasn’t sure why people were saying it was bland. I thought it was very flavorful and better than most of their competitors. The only thing I didn’t care for was the Seaweed Salad. I’m not sure if there was enough sauce for my liking. I will defiantly be back and will most like make this my weekly stop.

I really enjoyed my food. My dishes were freshly prepared and was not too salty-like most other Chinese restaurants. I had the beef noodle soup, pork with bamboo, and string beans — very tasty. Service was great too!

I have been waiting for this place to open! It is literally five minutes from my house. My boyfriend and I love to try new sushi places in Houston! We shared salad and the vegetable tempura appetizer. The salad dressing was very tasty, I’ve never had anything like it before. The tempura was cooked perfectly! We shared the Rainbow roll, Sakura roll, Dragon roll, and Volcano roll. I modified my dragon roll, instead of shrimp tempura I wanted softshell crab they did it for only $ 3 extra. The volcano roll was yummy but the liquor they used to make the flame got into our sushi. It’s still tasted good just had a hint of booze. Next time I’ll order it without the fancy fire. Over all the fish was very fresh! The Sushi had great flavor. The staff was really nice. The prices are also reasonable. Cannot wait to go back and try more appetizers, sushi, and their Chinese food dishes.

My boyfriend and I were at Frenchys but when we saw Mr. Weng’s, we decided Chinese would be better. The restaurant is pretty small, it’s clean and has a sushi bar. When I came in, I was pretty lost, no one was at the front to greet us. It’s okay though, I don’t mind that too much. The place was empty, so I’m guessing they’re more carry out? I ordered the Orange chicken, and my boyfriend ordered the Kung po chicken. Both were supposed to be «spicy» It wasn’t… but luckily I liked it that way. We ordered and only waited 10 minutes. I am impressed with the lunch fried rice. Most places give us disgusting dry/tasteless fried rice. This fried rice is moist and fresh. The crab puff was small, but great. Everything was good! I can’t give it a five stars because… I just don’t feel it being a 5 stars. Just me…

Delicious Chinese food. I ordered the rice noodles, general tso’s chicken, and Mongolian beef for dinner with my husband. It smelled fantastic and we devoured everything. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food that is given. We’re definitely going to be eating from here again!

Americanized Chinese food, sushi, and some Chinese food. From looking at the selection, I feel like they are trying to do too many things. My suggestion would be to cut down on some items and focus on the rest. The sushi is really fresh as they just opened. The pork chop for the pork chop fried rice was relatively thin compared to the other establishments that serve the dish. I had the orange chicken. I’ll probably be back to try other lunch specials.

Best Chinese food I’ve had in awhile! This restaurant is close to my husband’s work. So I probably won’t have the opportunity to go often, but hopefully my husband will. Dislikes first: the crab puffs were a bit runny. Still tasty though. I actually would get them again. Likes: my husband ordered Mongolian beef. It was pretty tasty. The fried rice was pretty good, although not super flavorful, it was a great texture. Loves: the egg rolls were awesome! The Philadelphia roll was probably the freshest I’ve ever had. The beef with broccoli was so flavorful. We ordered from the lunch menu and the portions were great. A bit too much for me(but not enough to even take home) and my husband finished his plate and felt nicely full, not overly so. Great new gem in sugarland!
