The staff was super friendly and welcoming! Once she found out that it was our first time she gave us a ton of samples to try. We were able to get the High 5 Fiber loaf fresh from the oven! The Savannah Bar and Hummingbird Muffin were great!

We have bought loaves a few times now and love this place– since we are all bakers at home as well it’s hard to give 5 stars… but I will say every bread(sweet, plain or everything) has been spot on for a chain recipe… have only had breads so I will say«I’ll be back» and surely will.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. I was offered good sized samples. They make their bread fresh daily. Ask for samples!!! I ended up buying a bar(I think it was the Savannah bar but I’m not sure) that was really delicious — had multiple berries, oats, and even some coconut in it. I don’t usually like coconut but it was still delicious and the coconut was subtle. The cheddar garlic bread was so good!!! After I tried a sample, I definitely knew I’d be buying this.

Can’t say I was too impressed with this place. Yes, the wheat is ground right in the store, and yes, the bread is freshly made, but almost everything else was a disappointment. We walked in to a deserted, dingy looking place. The music was so loud we couldn’t hear the young girl who greeted us. We walked up to the counter and when the girl found out it was our first time to visit, she offered us samples. Unfortunately, once again the loud music kept us from hearing the names of things she was offering and rather than asking her to repeat herself over and over, we told her we would just order sandwiches. My husband ordered the roast beef and provolone that he said was not really much different than what I make for him at home. I had the chicken salad that was totally amazing! I loved the cranberries, walnuts, artichokes and other goodies that were mixed in with the chicken, mayonnaise and herbs. The drink selection was disappointing because it was all bottled sodas, juices and sports drinks. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to get iced tea. When we ordered our sandwiches and drinks, we were asked if we wanted the combo that included a sandwich, chips and a drink for a cheaper price. Of course we agreed to do that. Later, when looking at my receipt, I noticed it said sandwich, COOKIE and drink combo. She didn’t tell us that and we would have really preferred the cookie over chips! While we were eating our sandwiches, an older lady came from the back and told the two girls at the counter that they could leave for the day. She then returned to the back where we never saw her again. After eating we were going to buy some scones and biscuits to take home, but since we were basically alone in the place, we decided to do without. We got up and left without seeing a soul. Not even a «goodbye» or «thanks for stopping by» was offered. I loved the chicken salad and may go by sometime again when I’m by myself, but I’ll definitely get it to take home. The atmosphere was not very hospitable and hubby said he’s not interested in returning.

We had lunch here and it was a good experience. The staff is courteous and service is prompt. Our sandwiches were good and the food is healthy! I don’t know how they get the honey wheat so good — I’ve tried to make it and it doesn’t come out as good as theirs does. We sampled a couple of other things that they made and all was good. We’ll be back!

I don’t know why this place is getting great reviews. The bread is good, but I’ve had better. As for the sandwiches? Well, I’ve had better! My husband ordered a BLAT sandwich which he commented was very bland. I had the Big Sky Chicken Salad sandwich and I could take it or leave it.(I think I will leave it because of the price.) The only bright side were the cookies. The oatmeal raisin cookie was surprisingly very good. I liked the crispy yet chewy texture. I would rather wait in line at the local competitors that provide a variety of breads. They have more to offer, they are more reasonably priced and their service is quicker.

Hands down best place for a quick bite. I’ve had the spinach and cheese biscuit as well as the pumpkin chocolate muffin. Both were great! I suspect the biscuit would be even greater warm. The true star is the TURKEYCHIPOTLESANDWICH. Get this. You won’t be disappointed. A yummy chipotle spread, thin slices of turkey, avocado, pickled onions, shredded cabbage and tomatoes. Pro tip: add bacon because bacon. I’ve been back twice and can’t get enough. Thanks great harvest for my favorite sandwich yet!

This place came highly recommended from a friend. Definitely would not have seen it in the old Randall’s area without a heads up. I came by to grab some«local»(it’s actually a chain but.) breakfast for the team… something different from the usual donuts, kolaches, and pastries. It’s a great place to pick up breakfast as it’s open so early and fast to come in/out. Staff was very attentive and let me sample freely. She was really patient in explaining what each bread/pastry was about. I love the focus they give each customer. I was most impressed with the Savannah Bar. It’s the perfect swirl of fruit, oats, and oatmeal in a granola bar style. It’s not the cheapest breakfast, but it’s fresh made and friendly staff. I got to meet the baker, too! The staff were really eager to tell me that they had lunch available and made sandwiches. They also do catering. I signed up for their membership and just received a 20% off coupon via email, so do sign up. :)

I was excited to try this place due to the positive reviews, but I find this place pretty average. Being the only bakery type of place in Sugar Land, it is one of a kind in town, but nothing that makes it stand out. I guess I was disappointed that I did not see much pastry or bread out to look at, though it may be late the time I went. They also offered sandwiches, but I was full at the time. The lady there did offer some samples of the bread to try. I could only think of brownie in my mind when I was there, so I only asked to taste the brownie bread, which was delicious, although a loaf was about $ 7 something. It was pricey, but I felt it was good enough that I did purchase it, but I am not sure whether I would visit again soon with it being a little pricey for my pockets.

I was so glad to find this gem on Unilocal by accident and was able to catch them before they close! I came right at 6:50PM and I usually don’t ever go to places right before they close and peruse. I was greeted right away with a friendly staff behind the counter. She even told me that they have sweets available too since she had already packed them up. Fortunately, I was not gonna buy any sweets because I was more interested in getting a loaf of bread for my peanut butter chocolate spread at home. I am a bread lover and honestly it is my guilty pleasure. I saw honey wheat bread and immediately decided on that. It was $ 5.75 exactly like it was priced so they don’t seem to add taxes. The sweet young lady rung up my order and bagged my bread into another paper bag. I couldn’t wait to go home, so I ate the first slice of bread in the car and I was pleasantly surprised! It definitely still had the fresh taste and smell. The bread was not dry and you can actually taste thr slight of honey in it! I will be back to try more!

What’s there to dislike about bread? Nothing, I tell you, nothing. At Great Harvest Bread Co., the warm embrace of yeasty, doughy goodness is accentuated and enhanced by it’s fresh, preservative free nature. This bakery harkens back to a time when it was commonplace to walk to the sweet smelling local baker for a loaf rather than the mass-produced madness that is the bread aisle. I visited yesterday for the first time and walked out heavy laden and highly satisfied. We bought the garlic, cheddar cheese bread(cheese baked right in the loaf, if you please) and the farmhouse white with a whipped, raspberry honey to top it all off. We also bought some delectable scones. I was offered(and accepted) a very generous sample of the garlic, cheddar cheese. To complete a very pleasant experience, the customer service was wonderful and welcoming. I’ll be back. Not only to buy some more bread, but to try some of the sandwiches. See ya later, assembly-line loaf! I’ll try to miss you.

Everything made fresh daily! The employees are super friendly, they are generous to let you try all the flavors(Big slices too!). We had a free coupon but decided to buy 2 big loaves, took forever to finish because their bread was very dense.

As of my latest visit: Four stars. I’ve had the their berry scone, a brownie, and a snickerdoodle cookie. And they were quite delicious. Definitely planning to pick up bread from here the next time I need to make a quick appetizer for a party.

Great Harvest Bread Co is the perfect example of why you don’t let children run your storefront. Among other flaws, the teenage staff was so unprofessional when they thought no one was looking, and this really grinds my gears. Maybe they thought the counter was some kind of magical wall that we couldn’t see or hear through? One of the workers there(the tallest male), was very helpful. He kindly offered us samples and tried his best to explain a couple of the oddly named breads. Dakota? Anadama? Popeye? What the hell is up with the names of some of the breads? And why aren’t there printed descriptions anywhere to be found? After much frustration, we ordered sandwiches made on bread with more self-explanatory names. Cold sandwiches, might I add, since they don’t serve any hot. The roast beef sandwich was very plain but decent. The chicken salad sandwich is so sickly sweet, they should just rename it Dried Fruit Salad sandwich with chicken. I am pretty tolerant of fruit in my chicken salad, but come on… And although I didn’t try their Portobello Banh Mi(or «Bahn Mi» as it was spelled on the menu), I was turned off that this bread company didn’t have French bread on site… What kind of banh mi is this? The fresh bread is their only saving grace. We bought a loaf of Honey Whole Wheat Bread, and I think I am now a bread snob. I will never go back to commercial grocery store bread. The quality, taste, and nutritional benefit of in-house baked bread made with freshly milled whole grain flour is unmatched. The Hummus bread was a little bitter for my taste. The Popeye(spinach and cheese) bread is definitely worth trying. One of my favorite breads was the Dakota(Honey Whole Wheat with sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame seeds kneaded in), which has a great texture if you’re more used to whole grain bread. Sadly, this bounty of bread does not make up for the childish staff and sub-par sandwiches. Shortly after we received our food, some of the workers’ teenage friends came in to hang out. One of them even went behind the counter, which really pissed me off. This daycare is in serious need of adult supervision. With Panera Bread and Whole Foods only minutes away, dishing out more popular and equally delicious freshly baked breads, Great Harvest better watch their buns. Literally. UPDATE(3÷17÷2015) — The owner reached out to me and tried to make things right. I do appreciate that they’ve told me that the problems are currently being addressed. I have yet to go back to see if anything has, indeed, improved.
