Just a quick updated on their Halloween contact lens selection.
I was extremely embarrassed and shy to ask the reception people if they sell these contacts because it almost seems like you’re asking the dentist which candy they recommend… but please note that it’s ILLEGAL to buy lens anywhere else than your eye doctor. I’ve read up on it and it’s to discourage buying really crappy and unsterile products from off-​market.
They were very nice on phone and in person, you should REALLY order 2 weeks-​3 weeks before Halloween because some items are more custom drawn. I saw: zombie, vampire, spinning top, hellraiser etc designs. NO SCLERA, that’s more theatrical purposes. I got my traditional vampire lens a week after order. insurance does NOT cover this of course, it’s cosmetic and I paid $ 60 I think for 2 lens. You can come back after you wear them and they will reseal the lens in the vials they come in. I unfortunately did not find the lens super comfortable. It might be because I have some chronic dryness from previous contact use and am used to the very breathable and light daily disposables. These are somewhat thicker but vision was great, I used drops to moisten eye etc.
Will re-​order for next Halloween!

My husband I live in Rockport and were looking for an Optometrist for our annual eye exams. We found Colony Eye Care on the Internet and could not be happier. They have a great staff and Dr. Salchek was extremely patient with my challenging visual problems.

Best eye care center in Sugar Land! They are always friendly and helpful. Dr. Davenport is an excellent doctor. The optimap is a great alternative to having your eyes dialated.

This is the best eye care place I’ve found! I see Dr. Polnick and LOVE her! She is really friendly and down to earth. The staff there is the same. I highly recommend Colony Eye Care Center to anyone in the Sugar Land area.

Being myopic with astigmatism isn’t exactly fun. Since I’m not particularly enthused about LASIK, I make my way around this world with contact lenses and occasionally glasses.
Colony Eye Care Center, specifically Dr. Salchak, serves my needs with thorough and detailed eye exams as well as providing my sight-​enabling necessities. There are other eye doctors here, as well. However, being a patient of Dr. Salchak I can only speak for his services. The other doctors, from my observation, seem capable and reputable also.
The testing and equipment used here is the most current and high quality. Rather than the old standard of dilating your pupils, which is annoying, you can have an Optos Digital Fundus (or image of your retina taken). It’s very quick, easy and practical, not to mention cool. Any irregularities will be visible and noted, making eye care/​treatments possible at an early stage. Note: not all insurances pay for this procedure, but at a cost of only $ 29.99 it’s well worth it.
The technicians are very helpful, friendly and are happy to explain what the tests are for and how they work. Dr. Salchak is pleasant, gladly takes his time with you and makes sure you understand the diagnosis of your eyes and how it compares to your past visit. He will make sure that you see clearly.
The glasses center has many top designer and nice looking frames for glasses and sunglasses. The newest innovations are available for glasses including polycarbonate light weight and scratch resistant lenses, which I am thankful for since the thickness and «rings» on the glasses lenses will be reduced. Otherwise, I’d go round with glasses like Professor Farnsworth from Futurama. Other options for lenses are available to suit your specific needs. The techs in this area explain costs to you so you are never hit with a surprise charge you weren’t expecting. Orders are ready usually within a week, sometimes less, for glasses and special order contacts. Contact lenses can be ordered in six month or one year supplies. They are usually ready for pick up within a week.
I’ve not experienced any too-​long wait times. This place is punctual and efficient and they know what they are doing which is very important in this type of business. I’m confident in trusting my eyes to Dr. Salchak and Colony Eye Care Center.
