Coco’s is a Sugar Land staple. This is a café that serves Taiwan-style Chinese food and has been doing so for almost a decade. I’ve been going to Coco’s for YEARS now because they have really cheap, delicious food. They can be a little slow on service when the café gets crowded, so don’t go expecting a nice, fancy restaurant(most Chinese places are not«up-scale»). The utensils and water are all self-serve; there is communal sauce that sits on a little stand next to the TV. Food: For dinners, you can call in and reserve a to-go packed dinner; this usually serves a family of 5 and comes with 3 dishes and a full box of rice. These dishes are off-menu items and are things like — fried fish, spicy tofu, kung pao chicken etc. As for their regular items, I’ve pretty much eaten everything on their menu. In my opinion, they have some of the best fried rice in Houston.(My family is from Taiwan though, so my Chinese food tastebuds are tailored to like Taiwan-style food). They’re fried tofu isn’t really fried, so its nice and light and great for an appetizer. Their noodle soups are also amazing! Pretty much everything at Coco’s is pretty light but still flavorful.

Have been coming here for over a decades me once even packed food from here in several tupperwares to put in my college freezer! Shocked to see the rating here isn’t higher. Should be over 4 stars on Unilocal without a doubt. Chicken bits, pork sauce and rice, and fried noodles are absolutely delicious. Incredible value for money. And very very kind owners and staff!

I’ve been a huge fan of the Coco’s Café in Austin, so decided to have lunch here while I’m in the area. The café itself looks anything but impressive, but the food makes up for it. If you’re looking for a simple satisfying meal, then this is the spot. I’ve tried their fried chicken breast entrée which is my favorite. It comes with a generous serving of stir fried veggies and rice. The chicken bites were disappointing though, mostly breading and not much meat — so definitely go for the fried chicken breast instead. The ground pork bowl was delicious too though. It had tons of flavorful veggies and soy sauce eggs. My one disappointment was their bubble tea. You could taste that it’s made with powder and was too watery. This was truly upsetting, because I really enjoyed their bubble teas at other locations. That said, go there for a lunch of Asian comfort food and don’t get your hopes up for the drinks.

Got their popcorn chicken rice, the side dishes were kinda bad. Rice was really bad. Gave em a 3 only cuz of the milk tea, but if you cant even make milk tea right, might as well close the door up.

I used to eat here all the time, but lately I’ve been disappointed by the overall quality and cleanliness of the food. Got take out today and found a hair wrapped around my crispy chicken– diiiiiisgusting! I used to love the curry chicken and shaved ice here but I feel like the food isn’t as good as it used to be. :(Such a shame as this is one of the only Taiwanese food joints in Sugar Land!

Pretty decent Taiwanese style milk tea with tapioca. I can’t say much about the food but it was packed inside on a weekend afternoon. I don’t think I would come here for the food anyways, but it’s a simple little spot if you want some decent tapioca. I happened to drop by after I got a haircut at the salon next door. They do give a large cup for the size of their milk tea, which was made fresh. Might also try another drink on the menu next time around.

Great food at good price. The milk tea is the best in town, period. It reminds me the one I had in taiwan 10 yeas ago. I hope they could open another store in Katy.

It’s like a fast food Taiwanese place, cheap food that is fast but lacks a bit in the quality, sort of a language barrier since all the employees speak only mandarin, the beef didn’t really have much taste to it but the noodles were alright, fried dumpling was huge but meat tasted a bit odd from the usual dumplings I have had, overall if ur looking for quick and cheap Taiwanese and don’t really care bout quality then be my guess and come on over

If you’re in the mood for a good noodle soup or a rice dish and not looking for fancy surroundings this might be the place for you! This place has been here for ages. I think I might have reviewed this place once before and it had been awhile since I’ve been here but I decided to give it a try this afternoon and was not disappointed. The Szechwan-Pickled Pork Noodle Soup was really good! The broth tasted really good! So far I have not noticed any spaciness or headache due to too much MSG so I feel as if they may not be using it anymore like they did in the past so that’s good! The girl at the counter was very pleasant and the food came out quickly and was priced reasonably! The portion sizes are generous and they also have boba drinks which is a big plus! The inside is nothing fancy and kind of small but most days you could probably find a place to sit without a problem. And they do take credit cards which is good because some places don’t. So for a good rice dish or soup this is a decent place to check out!

I ordered the chocolate tapioca drink. The taste was ok, but I was disappointed with the texture. I wished it was creamier.

A great little Taiwanese restaurant tucked in a strip mall, Coco’s Café offers a variety of Taiwanese snacks, noodles, desserts, and teas. The menu, as well as pictures for every single entrée, was posted on both walls. Place your order at the register, pay, and find yourself a seat. When we visited on a weekday lunch, we found 1 cashier, 1 foodrunner, and 1 cook hidden in the kitchen. The 3 of them worked hard to keep up with the sudden wave of customers sweeping in after we had gotten our food. The 3 of us got a few of the less popular items to give them a try. 1. Spring Rolls: There are 5 small rolls per order alongside a small container of sauce. The rolls were thin and satisfyingly crisp. However, it contained very little filling. The sauce was unremarkable. 2. Sizzling Udon: Warm and comforting, the noodles contained a couple of shrimp, some mushrooms, an egg, and lotsa veggies. The noodles were a touch overcooked, but it wasn’t offendingly so. The broth wasn’t too heavy, which we appreciated. 3. Shrimp Fried Rice: Hot and flavorful, the fried rice was pretty good. It contained almost too much oil, and definitely too much salt, though. However, they were generous with the shrimp, eggs, and veggies. 4. Curry Chicken: The curry chicken with rice had chunks of carrots, potatoes, and chicken. The curry was plain but not bad. Just a meh dish. I could make a netter curry at home. Coco’s is a grest little place to grab a quick meal, drink, and/or dessert. The food was pretty decent, the servers were friendly, and the prices were low. I recommend checking it out!

Normally like this place but annoyed tonight because I specifically called to confirm they close at 10 and was assured they do. Showed up by 9:45 and they refused to serve, saying they were closed. If they close at 9:30 or 9:45, just say so. Otherwise, honor your closing time.

We were here for a casual Saturday lunch, since I was in the mood for some shaved ice. It’s a Taiwanese restaurant with plenty of options. The menu is on the wall, with all the dishes and desserts in both languages. A young man took our order, though he spoke good Mandarin, I think he’s more comfortable when we order in English:) The hubby had a bowl of veggie noodle soup and I had a shaved ice. Though the shaved ice they have is just plain ice with toppings of your choice, not those fancy milky flavored ones, I still gave it a try. I have the small shaved ice with three toppings(boba, red bean, taro) and syrup drizzle. It’s not bad, the red bean and taro were cooked just about right and taste so good with the ice, simple yet very refreshing for a hot summer day. Hubby was quite happy with his noodle too, he’s curious what kind of noodle they’re using so we can buy the same kind and cook at home. Will keep coming back, will try the beef noodle soup next time.

Bad drinks and bad service. The taro and thai milk teas were gross and tasted watery rather than creamy, the boba at the bottom were flavorless and disgusting. I asked for the taro milk tea to come hot since all the bubble tea places I’ve been to thus far can make them hot or cold, and the guy behind the counter flatly said no. The shaved ice bowl was constructed poorly with all the toppings piled into the bottom of a tiny bowl and like 4 cups of shaved ice comically heaped over the top… you had to eat all the way to the bottom of the bowl to get any toppings so we ended up scooping the ice out into another bowl so we could get toppings. There were 2 high school students behind the counter who were confused, disorganized, and over-worked so I felt pretty bad for them, but they also weren’t exactly friendly or polite. The place itself is rather dingy and unkempt, I’d normally let these things slide if this joint was in Chinatown where sanitary standards and good service take a backseat to killer, cheap food… but this is Sugar Land, the perfect suburban bubble where I’d expect things to be clean(granted this is a small Chinatown square in Sugar Land… but still).

The food at this place is delicious!!! We ordered the new spicy cool noodles and rice with fried pork chop. The cool noodle is really cold noodle, very refreshing and not too spicy. The seasoning stick to the noodle very well. And it’s only $ 4.75. The rice dish is yummy too. The meat is perfectly cooked, very side veggie, egg, and a good portion of rice. Definitely worth going back and try their other food items!

Food was great $ 26 for rice plate, wonton soup, mushroom noodle soup, dumplings, and tapioca lemon tea. Can you say bargain!!! Good service and food was as close to Bellaire as you can get… This is Sugar Land’s gem, close to China town as you can get it. It’s a cozy place to dine in but service is good.

My boyfriend came here on a whim to try a new tapioca place. I saw the good reviews it got on its beef noodle soup, but we unfortunately did not work up enough of an appetite by the time we got there. The café itself is located in a plaza at Dulles and Highway 6. It is not clearly visible from the street, and the plaza has no signs to show what shops there are, so we had to blindly turn into the plaza and guess it was there. The café itself is very small with a couple of tables and had a very bland atmosphere and almost no décor. Since we weren’t hungry, we decided to pick up orders of the milk tea, which was slightly cheaper than at other tapioca places. The girl who worked there that day, who definitely looked like she wanted to be somewhere else, whipped them up quickly and turned back to the Korean drama that was playing on a small TV nearby. My boyfriend and I took our first sips of our drinks, walked out, and promptly tossed them in the nearest garbage bin as soon as we were sure the workers couldn’t see us. The milk tea was the thickest, sweetest, syrupiest milk tea I had ever had. I wouldn’t be surprised if I developed cavities from just the few sips I had. Sorry, but I was not a fan of those drinks. We might consider coming back for lunch, but I was definitely not impressed by this little café.

The lists of names like US Postal services, City Water, Cable TV, all calling cards to lowering the expectations, and walking in to Coco’s you instantly realize this belong on that list. Located in Sugarland, but the interior worse than the occasional dinning sections in rural gas stations. The wall, the furniture, the TV and menu’s all look like they out date the Ming Dynasty. My heart sank as I study the menu(In English and Chinese with faded pictures on the wall). Lets say presentation was a class these guys skipped and I’m not about to brave the restrooms. Food: Rice with porkchop(N2?) — Coco’s did it! they finally found a source for pork that is half fat and half meat. Thank god for the free ice tea, or I would have thrown up on a few of the bites. The other sides(Rice, soy sauced egg, Steamed Brocoli, corn carrots ham) are decent. Me thinks half of the marble chop was supposed to be delivered to the botox clinic instead? This is like playing mine sweeper, except the wrong bite would induce vomit. Never thought they day would come when I would give pork an: F Fried Cuttle fish balls– Thank god the ice tea was free to wash the after taste out of my mouth. C With the free ice tea my bill was about $ 9.20. Regret… Now the other items on the menu could be really good(But it didnt look like from the other customers frowns as they nipped), and the counter girl is very courteous. But after that lard Chop, and the rush for tooth brush and gum, lets just say I wont be supporting my fellow Asian brotherhood at this location.
