It’s sad that this place is overlooked because the big boys(sweet frog and skinny dip) moved in so close by. This place is cute and i love that they are super friendly. Italian Ice isn’t my favorite ice treat but their mango certainly was delish! It was also perfect that I was on a non-dairy diet the day that I had gone there. So for all the Vegans and lactose peeps, check this place out! If I lived closer I would go here more often.

I feel like there’s an unspoken rule that icrecream/frozen desserts shouldn’t move within a 1 – 2 mile radius of each other. Unfortunately months after U3C opened, Sweet Frog and Skinny Dip opened, and Coldstone creamery is right down the road. With all those options, I am RARELY in the mood for italian ice… maybe it comes down to preference. It’s kind of a niche market. There are about 6 – 8 options of Italian ice, all of good quality product, it was enjoyable, and service was friendly but I just don’t think I will be back. Why would you when Sweet Frog is next door and you could get soft, silky goodness?

U3C is a cute little Italian Ice café right next to Harris Teeter off of Harbour View. It’s the perfect substitute for ice cream or even frozen yogurt when you want something to cool you off. As the previous reviewer mentioned, one serving is less than 300 calories and dairy free. Hey lactose intolerant friends, THIS is for you… They also have cupcakes from Carolina Cupcakery in the form of gluten free and vegan. How awesome is that? No, I’m not vegan(note my abundance of meat-centric reviews) BUT why not take the healthy, environmentally friendly route when it’s delicious? The staff was very friendly. They offered us samples of pretty much everything. I chose the strawberry Italian ice(it included little bits of real strawberry deliciousness). It was tasty. From what I understand, they rotate their flavors. So one day they might have mango and the next day its been replaced with orange crème or passion fruit. This will be my first choice for a healthy, low calorie treat! Side note: Please act like you don’t recognize me if you see me in Cold Stone
