If you’re in the market for an awesome hero(hot or cold), lasagna, stuffed meat or spinach bread you will not be disappointed. They also have great sausages that are made on premises. The fresh mozz and sopresata are top notch as well. Without a doubt, everything here is superb. The only reason I give them 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish they had more selection. For example, they only sell sweet sausage and cheese/parsley sausage. It would be great if they added hot sausage and broccoli raab sausage. The cheese that they do sell is good but the selection does not go much further then provolone, parm, and fresh mozz. Bottom line– this is as close as you will get to Arthur Ave without actually driving to the Bronx!

Nothing compares to the homemade soups and the famous chicken cutlet. They make the best sandwiches and the staff there is like family. We have had their cold cuts, fresh mozzarell, peppers, platters, soups, u name it, it’s as good as home.

Anyone that reads my last Unilocal know how I have struggled to find a great Sammy here in Suffern. I have had no luck at Spring Street Deli in Ramsey, Bagel Train Gourmet in Airmont. My only island in this oasis has been Janeks in Mahwah. That is up until now. The irony is that my new favorite deli has been in business for years and I have not been a patron. I am having a bit of an affair with Mr. Kold Kuts in Airmont. I have visited K.K. at least 7 times in the past 2 – 3 weeks for both deli sandwiches and prepared dinner meals. By far the best Sammy has been breaded and fried chicken cutlet on the freshest roll I have ever had, with American cheese and extra mayonnaise. The rolls are always soft and fresh. The chicken is cooked tender and moist and the cheese is delicious. The prepared dinners were a grilled chicken cutlet with roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese melted on top, which was unique and out of my element, but a very pleasant surprise. A delicious crab cake that was way more crab than cake. I also enjoyed a slice of store made lasagna. As I said earlier, I cannot believe I have not utilized this hidden jewel prior to this past few weeks. In the interest of full disclosure, I have a friend that works here and that maybe why I had avoided K.K. now that I think about it. I am never one to ask for favoritism. But anyway, this friendship has no bearing on my review, as I am sure all Unilocalers have no bias.

Mr. Kold Kuts is the deli of choice for my family that I’ve been to a million times since I was a kid. They have really really good cold cuts(as you might expect from their name). They’re an awesome italian deli and they sell great lasagna, parmigiana, and even potato knishes. I’ve missed going to the place a lot since I moved away, but is definitely a place to check out. I’ve probably eaten like at least two full cows worth of meat from that place during my life. ;)

Mr. Kold Kuts is the best Italian deli I’ve ever been to. I especially love their eggplant parmigiana.
