VERYVERY high prices!!! Recently. Purchased 2 each of 2 bottles of high end wine. accidentally saw the wine I had paid $ 50 a bottle for $ 32 in another local shop. that got me to thinking and I pulled out 7 bottles I had left from my last mixed case purchased from Sudbury Wine. Conveniently I had left prices stickers on the wine. I put them all into wine … What came back was astounding. My $ 21 bottle was available for 9.99 at many shops including some in MA. The 32.00 bottle was available for $ 19.99…not only were the prices from Sudbury Wine significantly higher in every case but where there was a range, let’s say from 19.99 to 26.99… The Sudbury Wine price was even higher at $ 32.00. it seems to me with wine shipping legal in MA as of TODAY!!! Sudbury Wine might have been just a tad less greedy in the hopes that they wouldn’t lose their customers. unfortunately for them they have already lost me. Christopher T.: Gordon’s in Waltham has a great selection high end wine and knowledgeable sales staff. Thier prices are very fair.

The prices at this place are somewhat high, however there aren’t many places in the area that have the selection of beer, wine and spirits that this place carries. While I didn’t find the particular beer I was looking for, they did have a very large selection of craft beers. I went with my usual, though, since I wanted to select something that I knew I would be happy with. They will even special-order something for you if they don’t carry it. The staff is knowledgable about what they carry and are more than willing to help out if you have any questions.

Very disappointing customer service from the owner. Background: I visit family in Framingham and Sudbury at the holidays and am usually the one responsible for bringing the wine and spirits to the party. I always go to Kappy’s down the street to drop a few hundred bucks for the occasion. But when I saw this place with its lights on, I checked it out… The wine selection is decent, and they carry my favorite sipping rum. But otherwise, MAJORFAILONTHECUSTOMERSERVICE. For example, two nights ago, I bought a $ 16 bottle of wine, drove the 10 miles back to my mother’s house, through cold and ice, only to discover the bottle was corked. We wanted to have it at dinner, so I drove all the way back to the store and politely said to the store clerk that the wine was corked. Corked wine happens once in a while. I get it. No biggie. He brought me over to the owner because only the owner(whose name I don’t know) could give me a refund or a new bottle. In a word, that guy was downright surly! I’d even say he was rude. At any rate, he never once apologized to me for the corked bottle(which we all know was not his fault, but I was a paying customer and it’s nice manners to say such things to people who bring money to you in exchange for a product you are making a profit on. Especially if it’s a new customer…) In fact, he never said anything to me. Instead, he snarled at his employee something about«Give her her money back.» However, I was interested in bringing a bottle of wine back to the house for dinner. The store clerk, therefore, suggested I try a certain bottle(Saint Cosme Cotes-du-Rhone 2013) which was really just plonk, sorry to say. At the cash register, the owner was just as rude and self-absorbed, completely ignoring me and missing an opportunity to say something nice like, «Hey, thanks for your business this evening. Sorry about the corked wine. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and please come back again.» But no. The owner of this place has ZERO sense of how to make a customer feel welcome. I will be taking my business back to Kappy’s from now on. They are friendly and helpful there.

Not a comprehensive warehouse like Gordons or BLM, so no 5 stars here, but a good micro section and the employees/enablers can winespeak well enough to talk me into something on the fence about, so I’ll be back

For a little store, they have some surprisingly good, high-end bottles. And they seem to know what they’re talking about as well. Also, with regard to the wines on sale there, I checked the prices on line, and they really are priced lower than most other places. Finally, in terms of the previous reviewer who asked, «Since when does a liquor store ask customers if they have been drinking?», my response is that by law, bars and stores can now be held responsible if they sell liquor to inebriated individuals who then go out and cause accidents. I wish more stores would do that when they believe someone may be drunk.

Mehhh. After visiting here all summer pretty much at least once a week you’d think they could’ve improved their customer service. My mom feels the same and she used to get cases of wine from here regularly but ceased because of the poor customer relations. They’re helpful when you want to find something but hey, if you’re a regular and you pony up tons of money at this place all the time, you’d think they could be a little more helpful/nice/appreciative that you’re taking your business to them instead of Kappy’s down the street. I hope they take this into account when dealing with their regulars and try not to look down their nose at them. I honestly think this review applies to ~90% of the staff.

Sudbury Wine and Spirits was the beverage vendor for my June 2012 wedding, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect bar-stocking experience! The owner of the wedding venue recommended SW&S and has worked with them for years. We called a few weeks before the wedding and promptly received a(really accurate) quote for our guest count, a sample menu ordering sheet, and advice on beers that would be popular at our type of event. Everything arrived on time and at the perfect temperature, we had enough of everything and had very little left over due to Chris’ expert calculations. The best part is that they took back everything that was unopened, so we didn’t pay for anything we didn’t use! So easy! So friendly! Book these guys for any huge events!

A great new locally owned business. Up until today, I knew of only two package stores in town; Sudbury Farms(doesn’t sell spirits) and Kappy’s. Neither of them have the same friendly family run feel I got when I walked into this place. I won’t go into depth about their wine selection as I am a complete wine ignoramus, but the beer selection was above average. Mostly domestic, a very concise selection of approximately 50 different beers. Apparently they host tastings every so often, good way to try new things. I’ll be back. Overall, enough to win me over. Updates to follow.
