This joint has nailed the used bookstore aesthetic: creaky wooden floors, ceiling-high shelves, quirky and eclectic prints and posters, a quasi-labyrinth of rooms, assorted chairs placed here and there. The only thing missing is a cat. Or three. As far as inventory goes, the shop offers a wide variety of subjects and titles. Collectively, the shop tends towards the high end of used bookstore fare, offering mostly hardbacks at prices in the low double digits. In the back there is one room of paperbacks, ranging from battered to very good condition, for corresponding prices. I found a Penguin edition of Tristan(the Gottfried von Strassburg version) for four dollars. They also sell some first editions and some signed copies(maybe even some signed first editions???) as well as some rather antique volumes. Untitled earns the epithet«used & rare» with the quality and relative obscurity of some of their goods. It would not be an ideal place to stock up on cheap, popular titles, but if you are browsing for something unusual or for a gift-quality edition of a classic title, you will probably have good luck here. Every town worth its salt has at least one used bookstore, and Sturgeon Bay boasts a pretty good one in Untitled.

This guy gets used book stores. Its a throw back to the used book store that has been going the way of the dinosaur — laid back, conducive to browsing; eclectic, not-pop, music; comfortable chairs; creeky floors. The only thing missing is the dog sleeping on his dog bed, or a cat. While there I heard multiple people go up to the owner and express how much they appreciated it. Maybe the used book store will make a come back.

What an awesome used bookstore. Good selection in a variety of topics. A lot of history. Prices are a little high.

I can’t express enough how great this place is. I was lucky enough to stumble upon it over the Memorial Day weekend while I was strolling downtown Sturgeon Bay. The selection of rare/old/ancient books is astounding! I picked up a second edition print of Hemingway’s «Old Man and the Sea». It smelled great. I also love that this place is in Sturgeon Bay, which is so often dismissed as part of the Door County experience. This is the kind of shop that could go head-to-head with any other specialty shop in Egg Harbor or Sister Bay, and totally kick its ass. I chatted with the owner a bit, because I just had to let him know how great I thought his store was. Really nice guy, SUPER helpful, and knows so, so much about what he sells(more than just books, btw). Looking forward to going back and buying some old maps(maps make me hard).
