Olace always amazes me how good it is. Staff is awesome food is bug time for modest prices.

The cocktail hostess was absolutely the most rude person I’ve encountered in door county. She had weird purple hair that was shaved under and put up. She gave us dirty looks and acted as if we weren’t good enough. She had us sit and wait for a table which is fine but looked at us and rolled her eyes when asking if we wanted a drink. I asked if they had a drink menu and she said «no» all rude but there was one sitting right in front of her. We looked at the menu and ordered. She came back with the drinks and we all started to look through our money. She got mad and said in a Snotty remark are you guys all paying separate when we weren’t. I was simply pulling money out to give my aunt. This place is amazing without her. Food is great. We come every year but this woman was terrible. She shouldn’t be working there ruining it for all the nice people that in fact do work there!

Glidden Lodge in Door County is superb. The FOOD, service and drinks are excellent. The building is beautiful stone — classic. Our party ordered shrimp, steak and fish. All were four star — even the kids Mac’n’cheese. We will return to this place again and again.

Never again, ordered rare prime rib and got med well. Sent it back and they did not have another cut to offer. Should not sell rare prime rib when you know all you have is over cooked! One order out of 5, way to sucker someone into to buying your last grey portion. Waitress was affronted when we did not want to take it, should never had to pay for it in the first place as you did not provide what was even ordered.

Love. My wife and I went here as part of our minimoon and the service/​food was great. Very traditional in décor and menu, and the prices are fair PLUS the entrees come with BOTH soup and salad?!? Forget about it, dude. This is the spot for sure.
All things considered, the restaurant staff was great and super helpful and the view of the water was super relaxing.

If you’re looking for dinner with a great view then this is the place. Sat at a table overlooking the Lake and really enjoyed it. However the food is not quite as good. First off, the soup, bread, and salad is all at the salad bar, which is included with all meals. Soups were good; the salad bar itself was ordinary. For dinner I had the Tenderloin Shish-​Kababa and my wife had the ribeye. My wife loved her steak, however the meat in mine was mixed. It’s like every other piece, felt like I was chewing the leather from my boot (although the taste was good). For dessert we had the carrot cake which was OK. Not great, not bad, just OK. Wine list had a good selection, both by bottle and by glass.

I love this place and have been eating here for 16 years at least. Beautiful supper club feet away from Lake Michigan. The Signature Dinner is an amazing filet with a Merlot reduction. Their seafood is good, but man do they know how to cook a steak. Full salad bar and soup with your meal. Decent wine list with great prices. Stone lodge décor. Strongly recommend making a reservation. In season the place is packed every night.

Classic Wisconsin supper club. The salad bar was fine but the soups were the star of the show. The prime rib was amazingly tender and the chocolate caramel cake was outrageous. Do yourself a favor and make an early reservation on a Saturday night to take advantage of the prime rib special, it is a very generous cut at a great price. Also, the lake is right outside the window, try to get one of those tables.

What a fantastic place. I love supper clubs and this one does not disappoint. Friday night fish fry was fantastic. Had the perch and it was lightly breaded and fried. Had a nice crisp outside and very moist inside. Others had petite fillet and baked cod which both were excellent. Only thing was wished the salad bar had more vegies. The soups were excellent and so were the cocktails.

So it the last perfect day in Wisconsin until next June and you take a off work to spend the day wondering around Door County. So much to do, so much to see and so much to eat! Well, here is one more thing you must do… Save room and time for a meal at Donnie’s Glidden Lodge!
Looks like they have an «early bird» special for the AARP’s crowd starting at 4pm until 6:00. They also have many other specials, such as Prime Rib on Saturday and Fish on Friday (like every other restaurant or bar in Wisconsin).
Tonight my wife and I went with the steak, I had the 12oz. Tenderloin and she had «The Glidden», which is a 10oz Tenderloin with blue cheese, caramelized onions in a homemade Merlot sauce. Both prices of meat had great taste and were done perfectly! Melt in your mouth perfect!
Our service and server was excellent, and the view is spectacular. The only way it could have been better is if the Lodge were on the Green Bay side of Door County so you could watch the sunset! Still Lake Michigan is a great view at anytime.
I took pictures of our meal but it was to dark. But take my word, you will love this gem of a restaurant.

Can’t believe what a great place this is! We love the location — -right on the rocky shore of Lake Michigan. The salad and soup bar is very nice. Homemade salads, soups, and breads. But the star of the show is The Glidden steak!!! Absolutely perfect! Call for reservations as they are always busy! It’s worth the drive!

Very much dissatisfied in our experience this evening. All four of us ordered the prime rib: three medium rare and one medium. We received our order and, unfortunately, the prime ribs were all well done. We told the waitress and she said there was nothing that could be done, but she went ahead and brought them back to the kitchen. She returned within a minute and said the chef didn’t have anything else and that we had to keep them or order something else off the menu. At this point, we had already waited far too long for our incorrect order and decided to keep the prime ribs. If they didn’t have more than a medium on the prime rib, then we should have been told initially.
It seems like there must be poor communication between the waitress and kitchen staff.
Unfortunately, our grandparents who live in Door County will probably not return due to this experience.

Excellent date night venue! With reservations made we were seated immediately. Our server was super friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. The food was fantastic, from the escargot appetizer thru to the steak and shrimp. All I have to do now is recreate their phenomenal pepper pot soup at home.

Quick notes:
–It is very loud, so if you are at your table, try to speak up. People are yelling, talking, and its noise level is high.

We sat down about 7:45, and then had a 15 minute wait until they sat us down at a drink table. They had two menus of beers, wines and cocktails. (A lot bigger than their food menu.) At around 8:30, they sat us down at our food table.
If you look out the window, you see the beautiful lake Michigan. If you look to the left, you see the bathrooms along with the salad bar and soup bar. Although, their soup bar is two different kinds of soup, and a mix of vegetables for the salad.
Warning, this place is NOT good for younger kids
Their kids menu is nothing more than Chicken Nuggets, Peanut Butter and Jelly and Shrimp Fry. They have bread at the salad bar if you so wish.
The time it took to order to get our food was 20 minutes. Pretty fast.
The fries where amazing!
Although. The food my friends had, where less than satisfactory. Too chewy meat, no flavor for the other. The meat was too raw, and tasted a little funny.

Unilocal lead us to this gem. Wanted a steak dinner and we weren’t disappointed. Husband ordered the filet. I ordered the ribeye. Both aged to perfection and cooked perfectly. Service was spot on and the old fashioned was delicious. Will definitely be back for more!

what a great bargain. the early bird special (ends at 5:30) is $ 13.95 for prime rib on Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. no better view in Door County than the dining room at Donny’s Glidden Lodge! dinner includes soup & salad bar, too! great deal!!!

We were so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service, romantic atmosphere and absolutely delicious food! Our server Carolyn was an absolute doll! I can’t wait to go back!

Wow another great find in DC Supper club that’s on the water with a great view cool bar when you walk I in the first thing i see is a salad bar Cool ! We sit down by the window a 6 top and order cocktails Brandy old fashions are the drink of choice and they are quite good! For dinner I choose the prime rib Jim the pork chops the vest if the table had the veal chop special and the Walleye all Meals were exceptional. With one issue the veal chop was but under cooked but all in all great view, nice friendly staff and very good food Will add this to our top Supper Clubs I. The area

Recently went here for my dad’s 70^th birthday, hadn’t been in years. It was FANTASTIC. All staff were very professional and very attentive. Bartender made sure our drinks were always refreshed and kept the wood-​burning fireplace in the bar area going.
Three of us got the «Glidden» which is their 10 oz tenderloin, served on top of toast points with blue cheese and a merlot reduction sauce. It was amazing. Some have complained their toast points were soggy, mine were not. Biggest surprise for me was that we ordered three different temperatures of steak, I got the rarest (medium rare) and totally expected it to be overcooked. Not at all, it was perfect temperature, best I’ve had in awhile.
Note that you can «gliddenize» any steak, and get the toast points, blue cheese, and merlot sauce.
My only complaint is I wish the salad bar had a few more different veggies on it.
Beautiful setting on the shores of Lake Michigan!

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We had high expectations as we were used to going to a 5 star restaurant for our anniversary in the Phoenix area. We were not disappointed. The place has a north woods rustic ambience located on the shores of Lake Michigan. This was on a Thursday evening in December. We had reservations and arrived 20 minutes early, but were seated immediately.
The waitress was very prompt to take our beverage order and tell us about the specials. I ordered the king sized prime rib. What I got was a half a cow cooked to perfection. It was smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. Definitely needed a to go box. We split a very decadent dessert. The total bill for 2 including drinks, appetizer, and dessert was under $ 100.00
I think this will be our new anniversary spot.
