Love this place. The smoked wings are addictive. Delicious beer offerings. I went with some softball friends and we basically just had beers and apps. All of which were great. I’d go back in a minute.

Rapscallion is one of those places that doesn’t excel at anything, yet somehow works really well. The taproom is located on a backroad well off the main drag in Sturbridge, yet seems to attract a steady crowd in the evening and frequently hosts live music. The taproom is cozy; there’s a fireplace, lots of wood, and old beer trays decorating the walls. They don’t serve food, but you can bring your own. Rapscallion brews quite a few beers, although most places will only have their signature honey ale(which isn’t my favorite). The brewery carries all of them, most of which I prefer to the honey. While I don’t think I’ve ever had anything bad here, their lighter beers and non-black IPAs are a bit bland for my tastes. What Rapscallion really does well are dark beers. The Black IPA, Porter, and Munich Dark are my go-to beers with the Black IPA being my favorite. It’s very similar to the Porter, but with a noticeable hop bite. Rapscallion has a mug club so if you happen to live nearby and somehow don’t know about this place, you should join.

love, love, love this place. my boyfriend and i were driving through the area for the first time, and noticed a sign for the tap room. always up for adventure, we decided to take a short detour to visit. i was first impressed by the presence of hops growing around and near the building– what a lovely and thoughtful touch. service on the inside was very friendly, and the look of the place is all dark wood, with incredibly unique wooden communal tables that are clearly fashioned from real wood by a craftsman. beers that stood out for us were the honey, summer, blueberry, and belgian. though, honestly, everything was tasty, even if it wasn’t remarkable. prices are surprisingly reasonable, with 32 oz. cans to-go running around $ 7 — $ 8 each. we will definitely be back when we are in the area again. *there’s a really cool outdoor venue of sorts that was being set up for a wedding around the time that we were there. there are also some animals(i saw a horse and a goat in the distance) that you can visit. we did not, so as not to encroach upon the wedding.

This place is awesome! Totally off the beaten path. There’s an outdoor pavilion area with picnic tables and a stage for live music. Inside there is a corn hole playing area and in where the bar is there re these fabulous hand carved large picnic style tables where you can pick from different childhood games to play all while you listen to live music, drink great beer and cider and play jenga or cards or dominos… It’s like hanging out at your own place! Bring snacks. Being your pups. Hang out with friends drink great drinks. Eat. Play and listen to music. Can’t ask for a better Sunday Funday or any day at all. I will be going back here again.

They allow dogs!!! Also, we have yet to find a bad beer on the menu. They have live music most weekend evenings and a very relaxed atmosphere. There is nothing better than grabbing a beer, listening to music and chillin with your dog! Love this place!

Laid back and friendly atmosphere, lots of great beers to try, lots of regulars. Great place to spend an afternoon on a sunny day on a drive out from Boston.
