Not really sure what the fuss is about… some people are too entitled. Great food, amazing service, and an exquisite sense of enjoyment elevated the restaurant and e spot lounge as to say, ‘I belong here, I want to keep coming back t the place where I belong…’ Great Entertainent along with good food and hospitality just can’t be beat anywhere in LA! I recommend the clam pasta, the rustic breads, the pizzas, and the wide selection of great wines.

Wow! I’ve never been before but EVERTHING was out excellent and many things were outstanding. My wife had the generously portioned chicken piccata(sautéed but not breaded) and my Chicken DaVinci was DiVine. My sister and my son split a the lasagna(super rich but not too cheesy) and a chicken Marsala that was only outdone by their perfectly chewy pasta coated with the sauce. The Caesars salad was excellent and The artesian bread with truffle butter was a decidedly meager offering size but really good! All that said, the real star of the meal was the most amazing tiramisu I have ever every had.

Been meaning to review this place for a bit and finally getting around to it… The reason its taken so long is because I’m confused on what this place is trying to be. They have a live piano player at 7pm in the main dining area that is WAY too loud to enjoy a nice meal. The space is just too small and the sound bounces in there like crazy. Heard some great music, but not when I wanted to hear it. Then the food. Its good. Some of it is very good. But the portions and price are a bit hard to swallow. I would expect more food or extremely awesome offerings. Hate to say this, but lower the price on things. $ 10 for a single cannoli that had a rock hard shell? Not OK.(been that way each time we’ve tried them, sent it back once). The staff is pretty great. Never an issue, always friendly and very professional. Just one note… Please never EVER bring the check while we are still eating desert and enjoying coffee. It’s rude as hell, especially when we are spending around $ 150 to $ 200 each visit. Both times this happened it was on a slow night and not near closing time. Not sure what they will do about the comments I left, but hopefully the prices will match the experience a bit more next time we head over to that side of town.

Great place for Fathers Day Brunch as it turned out– quiet-cool and felt private! Good selection of breakfast choices– lox/eggs. gluten free waffles, a wonderful baked eggs/marinara dish which was really good! Good Service-friendly! Solid Breakfast/brunch choice! Lots of street parking or valet available.

Lively. Piano music in dining room, jazz club upstairs. Windows open to the street. Mostly pasta menu. We didn’t have pizza/pasta but had entrees that were okay to good. Gelatinous polenta very disappointing. Dinner salad extremely small but good. Generally overpriced. Can be noisy. Maybe too hip for its own good?

I don’t understand why the rating was so bad for this place. The jazz music was great and the appetizers were really good. I had the truffle Mac N’ Cheese and it definitely lives up to all the hype. The calamari was a little greasy and wasn’t necessarily the best, but it wasn’t bad at all. Everyone was really nice and very accommodating. I’ll definitely be back to try one of the entrées.

I’m also very surprised by the bad reviews. This place is delicious and very hip! From the moment we sat out on their patio to the live piano music to the great service(shout out to Danny)…and finally, the delicious wine and pistachio salmon with side of mashed potatoes and Caesar salad(which has a housemade dressing and croûton crumbles)-YUM! My teenage daughter and I shared and it was perfect! Definitely worth coming and enjoying. Will definitely come again soon.

Staff was rude and disorganized. Rushed around and not served hot food, which is upsetting considering the prices… Very disappointed in the staff and management. I am not hard to please at a restaurant… Just hard your disdain for your job, coworkers, and boss. But everyone I looked at our server she was scowling or fighting or sulking or complaining. I know the service industry is hard, but Jesus… Be less rude…

Simply great Italian food ! The Carborna spaghetti is the best I have ever had! Came here for lunch, great service, and there was very little wait! I truly recommend this place !

I do not get why everyone is giving this bad reviews! I love it! The best things in my opinion are the fettuccine alfredo and the pepperoni pizza! I love the delivery service! Great and cheap, great for a family pizza dinner! I love it, not everyone loves it but I do!

I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and what I got was a sopping bowl of noodles absolutely drenched in butter. And I mean SOAKING. It was so disgusting. Then, when I pointed this out to the waiter towards the end of the meal(I ate about half of it until I discovered the lake of dairy beneath), he was more or less indifferent and did not make any effort that I could tell to notify the chef or manager. So I just paid for it and went home. And now I’m sitting here with a stomach ache. What a bummer of an evening.

First time at the Espot lounge and had a great time. Saw a band named FADEUPFADEOUTBYEBYE. It was a day like all others but this time i was alone. So, i read up and seems cool. The food smelled and looked great(regret not eating) the witnesses weren’t that cool. A serve by the name DANNY was really cool and also played in the band. I ran into some very charismatic people. Will be back soon.

This was my first time having lunch here. I had been here in a large group one evening and I had frequented The ESpot on two separate occasions. I always wanted to set near the sidewalk and experience the ambiance. Well, I got my chance to set at the window but the lunch was the least tasty meal I had experienced here! I was informed I could not not have a steak salad with the steak non red because they cook the steak in the morning and serve it cold on the salad all day… oh well…

Complete disappointment!!! This used to be my favorite restaurant for a nice date night or dinner with girls, now I’m not sure I will ever come back. The restaurant was recently renovated to accommodate a jazz club upstairs so the main room is much much smaller and organized in a very chaotic way. The atmosphere there is no longer the same. On a separate note, I made reservations 2 days before for dinner at 6:45 on a Saturday. When we got here a nice young man let me know that they’re waiting for tables to open up and it will be about 10 – 15 minutes. Well, 1 hour later we squazeed in the area next to the bar to get some drinks because we still didn’t have a table. The hostess found us there and told us a table has opened up but she has a bigger party arriving and she’d like to sit them there, even though we’ve been waiting for 1 hour. Very inappropriate in my opinion. My husband and his friend got very upset and asked for a manager, who came out and in a very aggressive way would not let us express our disappointment and kept telling us to lower our voices and instead of apologizing he told us to leave. If I could I would give hostess a star for at least being polite, manager a minus 2 stars for being rude to clients who were willing to wait an hour for a reserved table and spend $ 60 on 4 drinks while waiting, and I’d give 1 star to the main restaurant room. This used-to-be gem of Studio City is now complete disappointment!!!

I’m pretty shocked by the low rating! This is solid Italian food in a chic, modern setting. I’ve been twice, my first time was not the best experience only because we were seated directly across from the kitchen and a set of stairs. Waiters were in and out every few seconds with a noisy swinging door a few feet from us. I’m not sure what’s upstairs but managers were back and forth up the staircase and it really was distracting. You can imagine how irritating that would be get after awhile. If anyone ever tries to seat you there, decline and wait for another open table. My second experience was much better, we went on a less busy night and our waiter was incredibly attentive. The food is solid. I can’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had but it’s damn sure close! I ordered the lobster ravioli initially but they were out of it. The waiter recommended the short rib ravioli with the pink sauce that the lobster ravioli comes with and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. My bf had the special of the night(seafood risotto) and was practically licking the plate after. I totally understand the 3% upcharge for health insurance on TOP of a tip is pretty rude but it doesn’t impact my thoughts on the restaurant overall.

This place is designed nicely, from outside you can’t say that inside is so pretty. I liked the piano and little fountain. Food was good and very reasonable price!!!

3% Charge is ADDED by Vitello’s to help cover HEALTHCARE for our employees. «It is optional» — so Vitello’s, can care less about what other restaurants do — DONOT add the 3%. REALLY ???, SERIOUSLY… you. Vitello’s owner. you want customers to help you pay for your employees health insurance? Are we looking in the future to help you pay for Workers Compensation and Liability Insurance too? GETREAL! THISISYOURBUSINESS ! Customers CANNOT be accountable for pitching in with employee’s health insurance, do you know that customers also contribute to their tips? Accountability, you want to have this business, it is your choice to have this business, you are responsible for it, NOT the customers. And by the way, I ordered the Arugula Avocado Salad for $ 14.00 + shrimp = $ 21.50 /4 shrimps @ $ 7.50 — that is astronomically outrageous! don’t tell me that the shrimp you serve is good quality. Shrimp is shrimp. All shrimp come from Asia. Too many restaurants in town… time to look for a restaurant that values customer’s loyalty.

Great food, but the staff don’t show you much respect if you are young or a minority. The way our waitress was speaking to us was very condescending, IDK, maybe she was just having a bad day, great food, but for the price you can get better food and a better quality of service and location elsewhere. Very nice for a dinner date or a quick business meeting/lunch

Great food I must say… BUT, and I hate when there has to be BUT, I don’t get why the customer should pay 3% for employees healthcare? Mr. Owner, so lets make it clear: You want ME to pay for your employee’s healthcare!!! REALLY??? It seems like we went to charity event that night. How rood the owner must be? I would LOVE to actually meet him in person and ask him couple of questions… BUT, that won’t happen, since I’m not going back there. I am getting angrier with every word I type… WOW…

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for ages, and have never been to this spot until yesterday! I was picking up some shoes I got repaired at Marks(see my review on his shop) and as bae and I were leaving, we spotted a meter maid throwing down some ticket justice. We’re from LA, soooo we know the importance of a good parking space! We waited for the maid to vacate his meter, and we slipped in like a mouse under a door! We were originally gunning for Aroma café, but it’s become such a tourist and hipster clusterfuck that we changed our minds immediately after seeing the crowd. So where to? Where to!!! My stomach was adding more and more exclamation marks to the point that I almost bit bae! Right at that moment, we found ourselves at the doorstep of Vitello’s! We were seated promptly and given 3 menus each.(They were on the switch between brunch, and lunch but both menus were avaliable, plus the build your own pasta menu) cool I like variety. Bae had the lasagna, and I had the linguini clams. Nice. Both items were tasty. Nice bearded server. Live piano player. Easy going vibe. I was able to drink my wine with my nose in the air because I knew the songs on the piano. All around, a nice afternoon. My one complaint would be that the open patio let’s smokers trail in from the sidewalk quite a bit, but hey.. what cha gonna do eh?

This is not the Vitello’s I remember from a couple years ago. I used to come here regularly with friends and order the same thing each time, the Bolognese pasta. Alas, the item is no longer on the menu. The drinks were really good, though! I loved my cocktail with whiskey and elderberry(it was named after a year, 19-something). It was deliciously, not too strong, but not too fruity either. The perfect cocktail for a summer night. On my most recent visit with friends, we split the Caprese salad. I loved the presentation, each tomato slice was a different color — green, yellow and red. The mozzarella was great quality, and they didn’t drizzle too much Evoo. It was the perfect way to get us salivating before our dinner. As entrees, we each got different kinds of pasta — I tried the Spaghetti with Meatballs and Meat Sauce hoping it would be like my old friend, the Bolognese, but alas! It was just regular spaghetti I could have made myself, with the usual round spaghetti noodles. My friend got the Chicken Penne, which was also pretty good. Next time, I’ll give up on my search for the best Bolognese in LA, and try something new. Perhaps I won’t be as disappointed by good, but not exciting, food! I will be back for some more jazz events, which I used to attend regularly. It’s always a nice way to enjoy an evening, a glass of wine in hand, some delicious dessert. Vitello’s has great taste in talent.

Great Italian place in Studio City on the beautiful Tujunga Ave. The food is delicious and the menu changes constantly. I especially like the thin pizza that comes on a tortilla kind of dough and is deliciously crispy and light! Excellent drinks at the bar, live music downstairs and the Jazz and Supper Club upstairs with Big Band/Cabaret/Jazz-Performances! Love that place! Prices are higher than other Italian places but the quality of the food is totally worth it.
