Less like Michaels and more like a hobby store from the 60s. It doesn’t look that big but take your time and look around. There’s a lot of stuff in there. Love the model kits, doll house parts, diorama supplies. Plus, there’s stuff for beading and crafts. Also Dover books.

ZEROSTARS. DONOTORDERONLINE!!! I placed an order online and paid for it immediately. Received an email saying that my order was all set and that everything should reach me in about 5 days. I needed the things I ordered for my own online business and have pending orders waiting for these products to arrive, so I am a little anxious. Even so, I waited 7 days and still no package from Kit Kraft. I called this morning to be told by someone, «Huh… looks like what you want is back-ordered. I have no idea when it will be in. Bummer.» AREYOUKIDDINGME!!! Kit Kraft didn’t even have the courtesy of sending me a note nor giving me a phone call to tell me that? It may be a «hobby shop» to them, but I take my work seriously. I am beyond livid and will never order from this place again. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible customer service! BOOO-HISS!

If I ever walk in to Kit Kraft and leave without a possible project solution or good advice from a well rounded, knowledgable through experienced crafting and making, then Reality as we know it has been altered and this is my first clue. Always helpful, friendly, and accommodating. NO rush shopping! No up-selling. No hobby lobby michaels chain-store b.s. Just a good damn store to get what’s hard to find, when you need it. …except on Sunday. Closed on Sunday like everyone else.

I had a much better experience here than last time. This is one of the last small town model/craft stores in Los Angeles.

Coolest craft store ever. It’s not just crafts but model airplanes and cars and fun toys for adults too!!! Parking is free in the back or on the street, the store is pretty meds size so when you get in ask someone to point you to cool things, otherwise you’ll be lost!

Kit Kraft is a true hoppy store, exactly what Michael’s and other Wal-Mart-sized behemoths are not, and minus the giant parking lots, miles of garbage, and flocks of people. If you want to have a true model car or airplane, puzzle, or art supply buying experience, come here. (I do however agree with one other reviewer concerning the customer service. At such a small specialty place I expect a bit more enthusiasm, but instead just saw«busy» people uninterested in my shopping there. Hopefully I read them wrong and will try again).

Came in for a fun Christmas DIY project that involved building my first ever model car! Bought an easy snap-together ’63 Sting Ray but wanted to paint it white(it came only in red). Was graciously helped by the salesman to the perfect paint, string, and tiny pine tree and it turned out just perfect! Never felt like I was being talked down to, which can happen in specialty shops where people know their stuff(this guy knew his stuff!). Will definitely come back!

TL;DRSTATEMENT: This place is Disneyland for any hands-on creative soul. Come here so it stays open forever, please. :) This store hearkens back to an era of smaller stores where care is given in 1) curating the inventory and 2) customer service. I don’t mind patronizing smaller businesses and paying for a slight markup to keep a great shop open. For a smaller brick-and-mortar store, it holds its own amazingly well. I walked in and my brain exploded with so many ideas — it’s crazy how they’ve been able to cram a wide spectrum of arts into a small space. To top it all off, the customer service was superb. All three employees stopped to help me, and they each even took the time to explain to me different tips and tricks with painting, because I’m a noob like that. They have: * various art media such as acrylic paints, tempera, pastels, charcoal, powdered metallic pigments, etc. * model planes and modelmaking supplies * jewelry-making supplies, beading, plastic lace, feathers, etc. * wood, canvases, paper * small motor parts * dollhouse-making supplies and crafts * tools for ceramics * essential oils and candle-making stuff… You know. Just check it out. ;)

I love this place. Un-like the bigger chains they are well stocked in the items I use the most. Sized wood pieces, metal and construction items. Although they are pricy at least they have the items I need. It is also like going into the toy stores I remember as a kid, the ones that are all gone now.

This place is full of treasures. One of the few great hobby shops around today. They have everything you want, and if they don’t have what you’re looking for they could order it for you. Staff is very nice and helpful to get you what ever you need for you’re next project.

Great place for all your model needs! They had a great selection of round 2 Star Trek models. I went for just a bit of paint but ended up staying for an hour combing through their many sci-fi models. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgable, they recommended that when I was finished with my Romulan Warbird I should check out the Terminator model kits(painting one of those should be fun, chrome with airbrushed bits of black.)

This place has an amazing mixture or everything and nothing at all. Need a random door hinge, vintage knob, or a model air plane? Sure. The woman who runs the store is very sweet and helpful.

Back in the day when I had more free time on my hands I really enjoyed building model cars. I don’t have the time for this now but looking forward to picking the hobby back up one day… maybe when I retire? Anyways, I still love to come into hobby stores and check them out. This mom and pop store has a great selection of models, decent prices, and almost any paint, parts, building tools you can ask for. I went in here for the cars but they also have plane, tanks, and a lot of arts and crafts stuff like Michael’s. MON — SAT is 9 – 6 CLOSED on SUNDAYS

Great hobby and craft store! While not the largest I’ve ever been to, it seems to have a small inventory of just about everything you can imagine in the artsy, craftsy, and hobbyish category(you thought I was going to say hobbysy, didn’t you?). The only downside to this independent store is it’s feels a bit cramped, with floor to ceiling items, making it a little difficult to navigate. Thankfully, the staff is very nice and knowledgeable staff, have solutions, and know exactly«where to find» items throughout the store. Parking is metered on the street, but always amply available.

I come in here and buy things that seem interesting. I wish to be artistic. I bought a ship in a bottle kit. After it sat in my desk for 2 months I gave it to a friend. I bought a miniature to paint. It has sat on my desk for almost a year. I bought posterboard and whiteboard. I have used them. Thanks Kit Kraft!

Let me set the stage here: Imagine being a 65 year old man with much time on your hands and a hobby for model cars. Your grandchildren love to come over and ask you diligent questions about your newest car or ship model and you look forward to their next visit. Sadly, you are out of the cherry red paint to use for the car’s exterior. Where do you go? Kit Kraft. Kit Kraft is ideal for a hobbyist as the store features walls of model kits, paint, glue, etc. Your 65 year old self will find exactly what you are looking for. Kit Kraft also sells craft items that you will find in the likes of Michael stores such as clay, feathers, beads and whatnot but the store is a bit of a mess and resembles a church basement or garage sale. A bit messy, somewhat erratic prices, but the treasures are there. And where else can you buy a pound of glitter? My biggest complaint is the service. At small mom and pop shops, I expect a «hello» when I walk in which was lacking at Kit Kraft and it’s not because they were busy with other customers/tasks. When one of the employees finally asked how I am and I begin to talk about the product I was looking for; he seemed very bored, awkward, and appeared to want to get away from me as soon as possible. Perhaps, he isn’t used to attractive young ladies in his store. Whatever the reason, service needs an upheaval. Kit Kraft is great for your hobby needs but for craft goods, stick to Michael’s.
