Amir’s Falafel

best falafel in L.A. Try adding Amba to it. delicious.

I don’t blame this place for having ok food.
I really think its just me and I don’t have a palette for falafel. It’s interesting taste and I think I may just want to try something else?
Maybe someone can explain this.

Love this place ! Always order to pick and food is ready in about ¹⁰⁄₁₅ mins. They’re shawarma plates usually does it for me! Love their falafel! My go to place for sure !

Food is OK. I’ve had better middle eastern food, but its definitely not bad. Whats really lacking is good customer service. Staff is far from being friendly or professional. Dont expect to be greeted with a smile. Probably would not come back here again.

Was it a decent falafel? Sure, yeah, it was a decent falafel. Was it $ 8 worth of a good falafel? Nope. And the staff was mostly indifferent, although I got a smile from the man who handed me my order.
The parking lot was so impossible that the valet from the weed shop sharing the lot was trying to play traffic cop so someone could get to his business, as well. If I hadn’t been going to the dry cleaner next door, I wouldn’t have even bothered. On way way out of the lot, one of the Amir’s regulars (judging by the reception he received) abused me for not having a sparkling clean car. I realized that he may not be of the intelligence level to understand the phrase «historic drought», so I just told him to mind his own gosh-​darned business. (No, those weren’t my exact words.) Not worth the aggravation.

I have been going to Amirs since I was a teenager and now that I live nearby, I go there at least once a week. The staff are very nice… the cook is always in a good mood and the lady has been nothing but nice every time I been there.
The food speaks for itself… simple, clean and delicious Israeli style cooking. I get the shawarma pita or the plate that comes w a bunch of the salads… eggplant is my favorite. Go in and enjoy!

After reading the rave reviews of the falafel, I had to go… and…falafel was delicious, side dishes good but not great, humus boring, and tahini was yellow and watery (so it was never touched). Not a great experience. Staff friendly!

This spot is one of the Valley’s hidden little gems! So good with their Mediterranean style and Middle Eastern dishes that you’ll surely be back here again for 2nds! They’ve been here for years and still serving up some of the best food in the SFV. It’s small and quaint but you won’t be disappointed by the big flavors and fresh ingredients that they put in their food daily.
Believe me if this place didn’t bring the heat when it came to the meat… I would tell you and this place is FIRE (good)! Can’t wait to eat there again…

If you love good Mediterranean food, this place will disappoint you on new levels. You know how when you go to a concert or a sports event and you line up to get the overpriced fast food they’re selling and then it’s bland and terrible but you’re hungry and you paid for it so you eat it? This place is *that* only it’s an actual restaurant with none of the above excuses and you have the option to leave and go get better food and never return.
I came because they were in one of my local neighborhoods and I wanted to try a new place. From the rude people behind the counter to the tasteless food this place was bad from beginning to end. The person behind the counter literally argued with me when I tried to order what I wanted by telling me I should just get a combo plate and then rolled her eyes when I said I just wanted what I was ordering. Her co-​worker even had to say, «Just let her order what she wants.» I know. A novel concept when ordering food that is going into YOUR stomach.
The food was truly bland. And they don’t even have a good hot-​sauce to cover for it. They have some green-​colored failed-​attempt at hot sauce that is more of a garnish than anything.
The falafel was dry and tasteless. The hummus lacked any flavor at all – if it wasn’t for the texture I wouldn’t even know what I was eating. The salad was salad. Dressing is just olive oil and some lemon juice, squeezed on separately – not mixed.
This place is an «order, get your food and take your tray to your table» kind of place, but the tables weren’t even wiped down. I’m cool carrying my food to the table but I didn’t bring my own dish-​rag, folks. If you like eating on a clean surface, once again this is not going to be your jam. Unless, wait – is that jam on this table that my elbow is sticking to?
Gross.
It’s in a corner strip mall so they have their own parking lot but that is the only good thing I can say.

Very disappointing and overrated! I ordered the chicken kabob plate with hummus, eggplant salad, and french fries. First off, my chicken was so fatty and chewy and had no taste. Hummus was oooook! Nothing to brag about. Eggplant salad was way too salty, and I like salt. French fries were good as well as the rice. My husband got the half chicken and turkey/​lamb shawarma dish. He didn’t like the meats at all. Both were very dry and overcooked, which made it lack taste. For his sides I got him the potato salad, hummus, fries and cucumber salad. I’ve never seen him leave much on the plate, but this time he barely touched anything. He pretty much just ate the pita bread and hummus. I personally would not recommend this place to anyone for good food.

What can I say this place is great. There is always a wait because good food doesn’t happen instantly, and guess what it needs to be cooked. However, it is more than worth it! The food is always fresh and vegetables are crisp (and never overcooked or oily). The Sharwarma is to die for, bread fresh, and the staff is the best. The only downside is some of the pricks who frequent the place who are rude and wannabe Hollywood industry types.

Got the falafel, shawarma combo. For about ten dollars, it was on the average price. Filled to the brim with all the toppings; indeed It was a big sandwich, so I’m not complaining. There was a disgruntled customer ahead of me which was a a vibe-​killer though. Also, conveniently near where I work. Will perhaps be back here to try another dish or two.

Falafel was not that good. Husband threw the whole sandwich away saying it was disgusting after one bite. I guess after eating 12,000 falafel sandwiches in your lifetime, you get picky with whats good or not. I finished my sandwhich but I tried my son’s hummus– which he refused to eat because it wasn’t that good/​creamy. The eggplant wasn’t that bad but will never go there again.
More of a convenience shop and we were willing to try something new since we were hungry.
Super friendly FAST cashiers and cooks, all Mexican/​S American.
They have the Israeli snack bags for $ 1.50. Rip off but hey, at least they have it.

We passed by Amir’s Falafel when going to see Dr. Sayana across the street for the first time (she’s pretty awesome, by the way). My dining companion and I wanted to eat something fast, but not a burger or taco or something. something different. We opted for Amir’s because I LOVE falafel. My friend and I both got the Amir’s Special, I think it was called, with chicken and beef shawerma and your choice of 4 salads. It also included rice, pita, and falafel, 2 sauces, pickled cabbage, and pickled turnips. I tried the potato salad, marinated eggplant salad thingy, hummus, and tabbouleh. My friend got the babaganoush (eggplant that looks like hummus), corn salad, hummus, and cabbage salad. I loved EVERY single one of the veggie salads, except the cabbage wasn’t my favorite, but it was ok. The salads and falafel were soooooooooooooooooo yummy. I totally would go back next time and get just the veggie stuff, no meat. The meat itself was honestly not so great. It was average, at best. If I were them, I’d work on improving the meat because the veggies are already pretty awesome, which is why they’re getting 5 stars from me. The price was about $ 13, so it’s not something I could eat all the time, but you are getting a lot of fresh food (minus the meat). I highly recommend all the salads, minus the cabbage. The pickled cabbage was also soooo yummy, I couldn’t get enough. They also have a spicy green herby sauce that is so SO good, I put it on everything. Their tahini sauce was a little watery, but you just eat it with the falafel, so it was fine. Got an extra side of falafel as well, and it’s GREAT, totally worth it. If I’m ever in the area, I would totally 100% get tabbouleh (it was super yummy), hummus (super yummy), potato salad (I really liked it), and probably try something new as well. Falafel is also a must!

Amir’s Falafel is a great find in Studio City! We enjoyed fresh Middle Eastern food for reasonable prices. Tasty, healthy, and affordable is a big hit with me!
I had Amir’s Special with both chicken shawarma and meat shawarma, and it also came with 5 falafel balls, rice, and my choice of four salads, all for $ 12.49. I had the corn, hummus, tabbouleh, and an Israeli salad with cucumbers & other veggies, and everything was fresh and tasty. I also tasted the carrot salad, which has interesting spices. They slice your meat off the rotisserie when you order.
This is a casual, local place, and I got the impression it’s family run, but I didn’t ask. If I lived closer, you’d find me here often! Highly recommended.

It’s like Togo for Persian food in that you choose from a case of sauces and toppings and extras. Very friendly and very inexpensive. Designed like a very casual sandwich shop.

We stopped here on a whim on a Sunday evening because the place was packed. Curiosity got the best of us and I’m so glad it did! Amir’s is completely unassuming. It looks like a middle eastern version of a Subway which may have something to do with the fact that it neighbors one but also because it features an overhead menu, a deli counter and small tables.
Prices were super cheap for a falafel dinner plate and a choice of 5 «salads» ($ 9.99). I picked the hummus, Israeli salad, tabouli, eggplant and beet salad. First, let me say the falafel was so good. I usually don’t order it because they are so heavy and filling but these falafel balls were light and perfectly crisped. Never tasted anything like them! Their pita bread is also yumyum: It’s like a little bread cloud. Hummus was my favorite of the sides and I also enjoyed the beets.
Amir’s isn’t fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but it will fill you up and keep your taste buds happy. I recommend you give it a go.
