African American Shadow Boxing – School of Mixed Martial Arts

You can read my previous review for a perspective on what I don’t like in martial arts… Don’t be fooled by the name — this is serious business.
I love training here. Grandmaster Rogers is a machine who has serious discipline and commands respect only to give it in return. I am going to become incredible here. He is an 8^th degree Black Belt who is a great teacher. He loves to be hands on and will interact with you on purpose, to make you better. This place smells of sweat and people work hard here. You get to spar alot here — the other day I was dying and could barely breathe and he said to me, «Come on. (looked me in the face) Come on, lets go.» After which I needed 10 minutes to regain my breath. This is what puts people who may remain average somewhere else to excellent here.
This is a smaller studio, which is great if you are looking for more 1 on 1 instruction. Small and serious is better than large and ignored. I have been here now for 2 months and his never say die attitude and attention to detail have made me better. I really feel he wants to make me the best I can achieve and I believe that everyone else who trains here believes that as well.
