The owner of Tony’s is Hispanic, but at heart, he must be Sicilian. He has been making cheesesteaks since the early 80’s, and he knows what he’s doing. He makes a very, VERY good Philly cheesesteak in a town where one would never believe such a sandwich existed. Trust me, it is simply delicious! I order mine with onions, peppers, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese. There are garlic powder shakers on the table and I take full advantage of that fact with a liberal application, and maybe a touch of salt and pepper. Cripes, I have made myself hungry! LOL. When one orders fries — you’ll get an entire paper plate piled full of shoestring fries. Probably a McDonald’s large fries order times three or four. The restaurant is not fancy, far from it, but the food makes it worth the detour.

Sometimes when you’re on the road with family, you just have to stop where you are and take a break. In this case, it was at Tony’s. Luckily, it was pizza, and almost everyone likes pizza. I mean, what is not to like? Well, the place is a bit run-down, but that isn’t always a bad thing — the service is friendly, and the pie comes out quickly. I don’t know that I’d take a trip here just for the pizza, since it’s a bit off our normal path(though this isn’t my first review of a place in Stuart, so we seem to get there fairly often), but it’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the area.

You wouldn’t expect really good pizza from this small mountain town, but it’s really good. I drive up from N.C. once every couple of months. I love their pepperoni pizza, and the prices are great. Large cheese pizza(16in) is $ 8.95, and each topping is $ 1.75 They are open 5 days a week(closed Sunday and Monday)
