I give the Americinn 5 stars because they are dog friendly in an otherwise non-friendly area. The $ 15 fee is very reasonable considering the last hotel we considered wanted a $ 115 fee. The hotel was clean, had good amenities and quiet. We slept well and will stay again.

Nice motel west of DesMoines. Only room smells like stale cigarettes. Bed comfy but sheets are thin. Had to stay here because no rooms available in DesMoines/it’s fair time. Nice new pool. Front desk personnel very nice. McDonalds and Casey’s gas station nearby. Good for 1 or 2 nights. Reasonable rates.

Perfectly adequate for what it is. I was driving cross country when dealing with the drivers in Iowa finally started getting to me. Apparently nobody in the state understands that you pass on the left lane and drive in the right, but I digress. Any rate, we first hit up a Motel 8 that had no vacancies, and then to the AmericInn. The place was nicer than I expected, the front desk knew what was going on and they had a waffle iron with their complimentary breakfast, which, in my book, earned them the extra star. Well done AmericInn.

Great place to stop when traveling I80. Clean and quiet rooms, decent breakfast and a wind turbine right behind the building… I love those wind turbines! WiFi didn’t work too well, but they have a lobby business center you can use while enjoying the fireplace and dead animals up on the walls :)

This was a pleasant stop on the road to Colorado. The room was clean and comfy(and a respite from the thunderstorms and rain on the road). The best part was getting a solid recommendation for dinner(that wasn’t Pizza Hut).
