I stopped in for a couple items, not Christmas shopping. As I was looking for socks for my 86 yr old mom, an elderly man was also checking out the sock sale. When he thought I wasn’t looking, he plopped a pair of socks in his presumably already paid for plastic bag. I couldn’t find a single clerk so I went to the Pharmacy. I had to wait and wait, figuring the guy was probably getting away or stealing more stuff, finally talked to the clerk, who then called a manager. I waited and waited again and thought if they don’t care why should I. A manager finally arrived, I told him the story, and his response floored me. «I’ll have the people in security review the tapes. We can’t do anything to make people uncomfortable.» You can’t make a thief uncomfortable??? Is that really Kmart’s policy. Holy crap.

I still haven’t figured out why they aren’t out of business. This is a clean and neat store, but at 6pm and 30 people in line should clue someone in that 1 cashier is NOT going to cut it!
