Very friendly and good service. I started with the Crab Rangoon, they came with a very sweet and spicy sauce, very good. I then had a cup of the Lobster Stew, full of lobster, I will be going back for a BOWL.

We’ve been coming up to Stratton each Sept for 3 years now to mountain bike and always get our lunches/breakfast at Looney Moose. The food is very good & reasonably priced. Had an excellent chicken BLT this time, my son had their large burger. I ordered chips with mine, they were fresh cut and cooked chips, served warm!!! What a great surprise! Breakfast food is good, eggs, bacon, pancakes, were all good & served quickly. A great local place & the center tables are always filled with locals.

Small side of road café in little town without much competition. Burgers are either 4 or 8 ounces, great real onion rings, good salads, and other sandwiches. Maps of the world full of pins showing folks literally from every continent but Antartica! That is worth the stop itself. We got in 20 seconds before 50 bikers from Canada, and we got served quickly, they got served without a great delay. Their cook(s) must know how to churn it out!

Looney Moose is one of two places to get a sit-down breakfast in Stratton. It’s open earlier(7AM), so I stopped in in a day when I needed an early start. Décor is classic mom-and-pop, a bit down at the heel, but clean, and the server was very friendly. There was a table of regulars there and, from the half-dozen motorcycles out front, a group of bikers in the back room. My short stack — 2 pancakes — with bacon seemed to take a long time. When it was served, I saw the reason; the bacon had been cooked to order. But not completely cooked. Parts of it were still red and it was soggy and greasy. The pancakes themselves were just okay — a bit dry. The server did try and keep my coffee full but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the folks out back. Maybe lunch is better.

My husband and I decided to try the Looney Moose for lunch today. It was a small, cozy place with lots of funny signs on the walls, my favorite being, «Unattended children will be given espresso and a free puppy.» They are hardcore on the moose décor, they even have moose string lights! The waitress was very friendly and on top of refills and checking up on us. I had a simple grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, but there was a generous portion of bacon on my sandwich, and not thinly sliced either! The best part had to be the mouthwatering strawberry shortcake. Even the presentation was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place, especially since everything was very reasonably priced.

I wrote a quick tip, but wanted to add a bit more. This place was recommended by a friend who has a place here as his fav breakfast joint. Wonderful staff, very kind to the children, bringing drawing supplies and complimenting their artistic efforts. Breakfast was terrific, fast and inexpensive. And the coffee was hot, good and plentiful. Clean, welcoming, cabin-y décor. A great little diner.
