Decided to try this place regardless of the not so hot reviews, as in the past I’ve had many good meals. Service was exceptional, even the manager stopped by to make sure everything was okay. Free bread prior to meal was above average, do yourself and ask for a side of sauce to dip it in. Portions are massive. Only down fall is that refills are $ 1 each, however we weren’t charged for them by our waitress. Give it a shot.

hadn’t been back here since we lived in stratford years ago and it’s still great. excellent Italian comfort food. wife had pasta verdi(broc rabe sausage white beans in garlic white sauce) and it was great. i had one of the house specialties in the fettuccini carbonara and it was also excellent. big portions. nice selection of beers on tap. house riesling was good and a big pour at that. casual and comfortable-spacious interior. our waiter was attentive, welcoming and friendly. affordable. we’ll be back.

The food is only ok. Nothing special, but not inedible. I used to enjoy stopping in for a drink and an appetizer in the bar. I visited the bar area recently with a friend and we received the absolute worst service I’ve ever had(and I often attract bad servers for some reason and usually have a lot of tolerance having worked in the food industry myself). The woman started off by barking at the bus boy to get US water in half English and half Spanish(so rude and disrespectful to another person). She brought my beer with her fingers all over the glass rim. She never showed us the specials board, despite us responding«no» when she asked if we saw them. Luckily, I was sort of able to read off to my friend as it was at the table behind me. my friend asked to substitute a side of salad instead of the pasta side that came with her dishes. The waitress claimed it was not an issue. After receiving salads and appetizers our meals arrived. My friend’s had pasta instead of vegetables. She asked nicely if she could have the vegetables(having already swapped the pasta for a salad) and she was actually scolded at by this server that she already got her salad. It was an awful experience and I probably will not go back just because of this one server

Pizza is alright here but I sadly have stopped ordering anything else. The food just isn’t any good. Seemed like it was better years ago but what a good location for a pizza place. The bartenders should lay off the cell phones. All in all places like this give Italian food a bad name.

Unfortunately my last experience was mediocre at best. It has been fine for take out. However we were in there yesterday and felt like we were bothering the waitress. And it was only us and one other table! Had to get up and get our own extra napkins, more soda and the had to ask for the sauce to complete our app. I took home my calzone half and she could not be bothered to add the sauce. Very cold and impersonal. Too bad as the food is always very good. Won’t be returning for a while.

Solid choice for Pizza and similar items. Good service, nice little bar area. Definitely give it a shot.

I just went here last night and had one of the worst experiences of my life, not only was the waitress rude and didn’t seem to want to be bothered with us, a party of 15, I found a piece of foil on my pizza and when I showed it to one of the waitress, she rolled her eyes and said we don’t cook with foil, so I asked to see the manager and when he came out, he picks up the piece of foil right off my fork, and says he couldn’t even see what it was, instead of Apologizing then takes the piece of foil, shows it around to the staff, as the Waiters stand by the register talking about me and my party. The man comes back and says is anyone here chewing gum because this looks like a gum wrapper, disgusting. He then begins to yell and point in my face while tell me he is the owner and no one on his staff chews gum. I couldn’t believe what was going on he then proceeds to point at a friend of mine sitting next to me and yells she chewing gum, when in fact she was eating a carrot. I was so disgusted I told him I wasn’t able to eat this knowing that someone gum wrapper could be in my pizza, he tells me then don’t eat it! I will never go back the food wasn’t that great and the service sucks, it a real bad look for the rest of Vazzy’s restaurants.

Been to all three, Shelton, bridgeport and Stratford. This one is my favorite. Best service and bartender doesn’t to hit on you. Good food at all three though.

Food comes out quick. Prices are fair. Plate size is great. Plenty of food for the cost. Will go back soon to try the Lobster calzone! YUM!

My wife and I have going to Vazzy’s for the last 8 years. We have always found the food to be good, large portions, and friendly service. They are happy to make dishes that are not on the menu, you just have to ask. Try their Banana Chantilly desert when they have it. It is to die for.

Okay, let me start by stating that I realize this location is more of a catering hub. My review here is strictly applied to the café services. Vazzy’s Stratford location on Main almost feels like it’s under different ownership. Vazzy’s is an amazing establishment with superb food, usually amazing service and a very nice atmosphere. Their Stratford branch, however, falls short. They have the atmosphere, but their menu is a cut down, hacked up version of the one at their Bridgeport location — Many of our favorite dishes were missing or altered unfavorably. The food didn’t have the same taste and flavor of Vazzy’s Bridgeport location, ultimately leading to a poor experience. We were also very disappointed when the bread with the hidden peppers and olives underneath did not automatically flow to our table — something we expect from Vazzy’s. The bread basket on our first night at Vazzy’s Bridgeport was the first thing that made my wife and I look at each other and say — «We’re coming back!» But since this disappointment we’ve had to amend our statement to, «We’re coming back, but not to the Stratford location.» Vazzy’s, what happened?
