Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

Omg this restaurant is amazing my mother and I ordered takeout from here for the first time I don’t even know how to describe how happy I am with the food it tastes great, delivery was fast and customer service is off the charts they forgot my soda but the owner called as soon as she knew and added a free one to our next order!!! Plus the portion size is bigger than most other Chinese restaurants

This is specifically an order for delivery of food.
Ordering — I order via grubhub so I didn’t have any issue with ordering my food.
Food — Eh. I really hoped I would like the food but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I ordered General Tso Chicken, 1 pork spring roll and 1 order of steamed pork dumplings.
Spring roll — well there was NO pork whatsoever in the roll. I have no idea why or what happened. It was awful tasting
General Tso Chicken — the pieces were very same and given that there was more breading than chicken :(. The sauce I requested extra hot and was extremely mild and sweet. I threw 80% of it away. So disappointed :(
Dumpling — these I will admit were delicious. they were fresh and the sauce was perfect. Probably some of hte better dumplings I have had in Stratford.
Delivery — My food came extremely fast and the driver was friendly.
I think they need to do some work with the food. (maybe I just got food on an off night)

I’ve been going to this Chinese restaurant for years and I’ve got to say… With the owners they have now, WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT. You can tell the chef has 10 + years experience and that they actually care about your input and how the food tastes to you. **Also the price is very reasonable and they alter the food and plates to your liking.** Out of all the Chinese restaurants in stratford, this is most definitely the best. Forget about all the negative comments below, those are a result of the previous owners. Take my advice and try Great Wall Chinese restaurant, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
*My recommendations would be: General tso chicken, Hong Kong chicken, any kind of lo mein, dumplings to die for, and the best egg rolls in CT!

very good food！ it worth to be knew！the general tsao’s chicken is perfect… and the roast pork Lomein so delicious. I will try more food from here, and I will be the fans from now on to this Chinese restaurant !

My wife and I decided to check this place out today. We eat at a variety of Chinese places and I must say, Great Wall was one of the worst places in terms of food. We had 2 orders of takeout, the man behind the counter was nice, he didn’t say much. The food was very oily, smelled a bit strange, maybe a chemical kind of smell and the meat looked poor in quality. We only ate a little of it and threw the rest away. If you are starving and this is the only place open, go for it. Otherwise we would recommend another eatery. Hope this helps.

I have been here many times. Very friendly. The girl that works the counter remembers everyone’s name when you order take out. It is your typical chinese food. Nothing to brag about.
