They were shockingly more expensive then the dealer quoted me with. But they are conveniently located which the dealer was not. Had I had more time I would have shopped around a little more. Overall though good service and quick.

My elderly mother-​in-​law lives in Stratford and needed a new car repair shop about a year ago for her ~10 year old car, so I got on Unilocal and saw the great reviews. Mom has taken the car there a couple of times, and the shop has also come and picked up the car, at no extra charge. For just an oil change! While some shops will take advantage of elderly in mom’s situation, these guys have been so completely honest and helpful it’s staggering. They have yet to say she needs anything expensive, and this is an older car that a less reputable place would argue needs all sorts of things. Bravo Dave’s!

Having just moved to Stratford a couple of days ago, I was in need of a mechanic after my Escape was making some funky noises coming from the under-​carriage.
I called and spoke with Dave on a Monday morning at 8am, he said to bring the car in and they had it by 10am. I received a call early afternoon with a diagnosis after him and his colleague test drove it. He mentioned the car was in good working order and no repairs were necessary at this time. He said the car was ready to be picked up whenever and there was no bill! Unbelievable! Dave’s Automotive will certainly be my go-​to for any car repairs moving forward. Good, honest mechanics are hard to come by — I’ve been looking for one for years, and I’m glad that I finally have one less than 2 miles from my house.

I just left Dave’s Auto extremely happy and confident that there are still good, honest people in the world. I was experiencing car problems on my way back to Boston and went to Dave’s after reading Unilocal reviews. They checked and assesed my car immediately. After just a couple of hours, they told me my car was just experiencing glitches and they fixed it no problem. And as if it couldn’t get any better, they didn’t charge me one penny! Not even for labor!
Every employee we talked to there spoke so kindly and really knew there stuff! If you are ever in the area with car issues, go to Dave’s! This is the best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. I wish there were more that I could trust just as much as this shop.

Honest mechanics are hard to find. Once you find one, hold on to them. These guys are a diamond in the rough. No up selling, just honest work at a decent price. Been coming here for years and they will have my business forever.

I’ve been taking my car to Dave’s for nearly 8 years now, and I haven’t lived in Stratford in 4 years! Dave himself is super helpful, as well as his staff. Luckily my cars have been good to me so far and never had any major work needed.
I always take my car to Dave’s for oil changes, which are by far the cheapest around and they rarely (if ever) give you a hassle. Never try to «upsell» like Jiffy Lube and the like.
They’ve done standard work like brakes and such, and I just made another appointment to fill my freon and get a transmission flush. They’ve never tried to take advantage of myself or my wife and our mediocre knowledge about cars.
You can drop your car off after-​hours as well, which is handy since I don’t live in the area anymore. I would definitely recommend.

Ever go to a garage and say to them… I am sure I need new brakes. They take the car and call you and say, you have at least another half year on these! Saved $ 500
Numerous times they have been honest, timely, quick, informative, friendly, cost saving, and helpful.
One time my wives car was smoking. Brought it to Dave. This car was just over the warranty…5 years old. I was seeing the need for something big. And I am pretty good with mechanics/​cars myself. Dave said the emergency brake was sticking. Fixed it, made sure it was back to new, and charged me $ 30.
