Strasburg Diner

Good food, great prices. I have been there for breakfast a couple of times and the meals have been great. The meats are from a local butcher and are tasty. The pancakes are huge. I have not been there for lunch or dinner, but I hope to some day. It is nothing fancy, just reminds me of the diners when I was a kid.

I had high hopes for this place. We decided to have breakfast here when we found out our favorite breakfast place was on vacation. We got there and wasn’t greeted. We didn’t know if we were supposed to wait to be seated or not. Awkward. We got seated and waited. The coffee was stale and the food was okay. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which was cold. I watched the cook make our food and mine was the first one finished and it sat as they cooked the rest of our order. I felt like the place could use some fresh paint and it kinda smelled funny. Next time we do our monthly breakfast out we’ll be hitting our usual place in Front Royal.

Ok Where to start. Well the pulled pork was mush and not great at all. The Double Bacon Cheeseburger was great. I wanted onion rings but they came back to say they was out of flour??? Then They had forgotten to make one of the burgers we ordered and had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get the other burger we ordered. I also ordered a chef salad to go when i ordered dinner. When i went to check out i asked where my salad was. And well they forgot about that as well. And yeah maybe if you was swamped that could happen but we was the only customers in the place at that time.
Also the staff is very loud when talking to each other and yelling completely to the other side of the room to each other. And one occasion one got mad at the other for joking around or something.

This place is awfully! No one greets you when you walk in, so you are left to figure out weather you should seat yourself or not. You only see the wait staff when they take your order and bring your food, so drink your coffee slowly. Your cant get their attention for more because they are either sitting at the counter with friends or in the back on their cell phone. The omelet I ordered was the flattest omelet I’ve ever seen. The home «fries» had almost no color, they were oily and limp. I think the great reviews must have been posted by the friends they were at the counter with. Don’t waste your time here, you can get better service and food at Denny’s.

This diner changed hands around a year ago and is still a great place to go. There are less cool retro decorations but the diner still retains it’s fun vibe. Breakfast being available all day long is my favorite aspect and the omelets and biscuits and gravy are the best. They offer single patty cheeseburgers for less than $ 4 and double patty cheeseburgers for a little over $ 5 — you cannot beat that value. My parents rave about their rueben and I hope to try their milkshakes sometime. The waitresses are very friendly too.

This diner had been recommended for us to try and while the food was adequate and the prices are reasonable the service was absolutely terrible. The restaurant was quite busy and most of the tables were filled however that is no excuse for poor service. We waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive and the waitress NEVER came over one time to refresh our drinks or explain what the delay was. After 35 minutes we requested our check and complained regarding our long wait and were told the food would be right out. The manager simply made an excuse that they were very busy and the delay was because we ordered a burger. Really? A burger takes 40 minutes to cook? Very poor service and would not recommend at all.

Good diner food at a really great price. Friendly, prompt service and the restaurant was very clean. A gem!

We ate here on 08÷04÷12 based largely on the good reviews and the so-​so reviews of the the italian restaurant next to our hotel. We should have gone to the italian place. Not sure what possessed my wife and son to try the fried haddock. It was basically a large fish stick — not what you would expect from any self respecting diner. It was awful. They also had run out of milk at 6:00 on a Saturday evening? Tells me there’s not a lot of home cooking going on here. Being in the south, I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was edible, nothing special — pretty sure it wasn’t home made. The table behind us had breakfast and it looked pretty decent. If you have to eat here, stick with breakfast.

Had a burger with onion rings. It was okay, especially for the area.

Excellent food. Want good real food for fastfood prices? This is your place. The décor is what you’d expect of a diner and I was actually waiting for John Travolta and Uma Thurman to make an appearance and start dancing. Nice staff too. Really worth your venture off the interstate.

Been here two more times since the initial review and my 5-​star still stands. The food and service has been excellent every time!
