Known locally as the big pink house. Unlike most historic sites like it, the Justin Smith Morrill Homestead allows you to get up close in most rooms of the house, walking on carpet runners instead of being trapped behind plexiglass. The tour guide is lovely and thorough and clearly knows a great deal about the site and is delighted to share with you! The house itself is simply gorgeous and I want to live in it. There are pretty grounds and out buildings and they host special events. It’s absolutely worth the stop. Vermonters should stop by their local public library and pick up the Vermont State Historic Sites pass for free admission!
