We just stopped at Lercys on the way back to austin. We had the cheeseburger which was to die for. We also had the chicken fried chicken on the buffet as well as several sides. It was all incredible. We highly highly recommend this place. The women there was so sweet as well. Loved it !!!

Best food we had from Houston to Gslveston! Great home cooking! Closer thing to Cajun cooking we had the whole trip.

This amazing diner is often overshadowed by the shadow of Al-t’s, a steakhouse, whose popularity has grown consistently due to location. While Lercy’s is located on HWY124 on the opposite end of town from I-10&HWY73, it is more then worth the 3 red lights to cross!!! They offer buffet as well as burgers and sandwiches which are all world class! Joy(owner), Hope, and Stephanie all go above and beyond to make you feel welcome as they serve up some of «momma’s cookin!» There wont be a need for salt n’pepper as everything is well seasoned and served piping hot! A staple on the buffet and perhaps the most famous dish, the chicken fried steak, as well as an assortment of veggies keep locals and visitors coming back for more. My personal favorites include the club sandwhich(a grilled perfection of melted cheeses and hearty slices of ham, turkey, and bacon) served with chips is a delicious take an old diner classic! At roughly $ 10 a meal its worth every last penny!!!

These folks have figured out the combination for a small town diner in a busy oilfield area. They have a great buffet — 4 meats, potatoes or rice, 6 sides, and a couple of selections of dessert. All items are nicely cooked, you make the selection and they dish up a heapin’ helpin’ of first class comfort food just like the diners of yesteryear. The meats on the day we stopped were baked ½ chicken, chicken fried steak, liver & onions, hamburger steak in brown gravy. Mrs. Eva had the hamburger steak — yummy and I had the chicken fried steak — a real big ‘un, crispy, slathered in white gravy, and well done. A couple of the sides were old fashioned greens cooked with ham and the most delicious black eye peas ever, anywhere! Mrs. Eva’s grandma’s peas couldn’t even match these. A couple of dessert selections rounded out the meal in a spotless converted gas station. I wish this place wasn’t 500 miles from my home. I’d eat here all the time.
