Staff were friendly and as a new client I was given a tour of the salon before my service. Amber did a great job cutting and styling my hair. I will return!

Location: Sun Prairie Stylist: Sara Anderson I decided to try this salon that opened across the street from my apartment complex. I requested a consultation to discuss transitioning my(dark to blonde) ombré into a less brassy/yellow, subtle and more natural fall look. I also needed a trim and agreed to get a deep conditioning treatment. My initial appointment was pleasant. Although, I’m the type of client that appreciates the opportunity to relax while getting my hair done, especially during down time in the appointment. I expected some sort of sales pitch of products and/or tools but not throughout the entire appointment. In addition, my hair was not nearly as toned down as I wanted and the ombré was not as «broken up» as I requested. I was content with the cut but I didn’t notice a difference from the conditioning treatment. Within a week, I reached out to Mandy(owner/manager?) to discuss the discrepancy and request a correction. She was mostly polite and said she would have Sara contact me to set up an appointment. Sara sent me a short, snippy email in which she never offered an apology. I felt that she may be taking the criticism personally but I reluctantly made an appointment because I disliked my hair. When I walked in for my correction appointment I was greeted by Sara snapping about a product I was returning(I don’t use detergents in my dryness prone hair and it contained a detergent). Luckily, the receptionist greeted me with a hello. I showed Sara the same inspiration picture that I showed the first time and asked for a specific swatch of blonde to be left because I liked the tone. Unfortunately I could only tell the general color of my hair when I left because it was still 75% wet. After I dried and styled it, I noticed it was much darker than I wanted and 90% of the blonde was gone including the swatch I asked be left. I remain frustrated with the customer service. It’s for that reason, I have not contacted the salon about the dissatisfaction with my hair color. I’m not confident they would or could help.

My mother got her hair done at lotus many times before this but she will never be going back. 5 weeks after a coloring her hair started turning purple. When she called the salon, Sam asked her many questions that were insensitive to the situation and she didn’t seem to be concerned about it. They couldn’t get her in to fix it and she eventually ended up going to a different salon… sometimes it’s not if you make a mistake but how you handle it when you do. Lotus obviously needs to take some time to make sure their customers are happy even when they make a mistake.

I live 30 minutes away but have been going here for years, because it’s worth it. I find that a lot of stylists don’t know what to do with my hair, but I’m always smiling when I leave Lotus. I haven’t colored my hair in years, but the dye jobs I have seen on customers look amazing!

I get my hair done by Deirdre and she’s amazing! I get my hair done every 6 – 8 weeks and I’ve done brown, red, and blonde, all over and highlights, and have even had a perm, and I love my hair every time! The salon itself is nice and they always offer you a beverage and have a ton of magazines to read while your hair is processing. We moved to Stoughton about a year ago, and I’m so glad I found Lotus Salon!

Wow, I just received a personal letter from the owner and a gift card so I can give them another try! I must admit, I’m impressed. I Unilocal a lot, and I have never gotten that kind of response after leaving an honest review(I’ve more frequently gotten threats of lawsuits, not apologies!). The owner seemed very apologetic in her letter, and very concerned about our experience. If I’m in town again before my gift card expires I’ll give them another shot.

I recently purchased a Groupon for Lotus Salon so I got a mani/pedi. The girl that did my mani/pedi was nice. The salon itself was just ok. The pedi chairs are standard massage chairs. My manicure was nice. My pedicure definately could have been better. My issue was the polish. By the next morning my polish was chipping on my hands and by the second day my polish was chipping on my toes. I get mani/pedi’s at least once a month at another salon and have never experienced polish chipping so fast. I did purchase a bottle of the color because I really liked it. The polish I purchased didn’t chip nearly as quick. Makes me think they thin out the polish at the salon. Overall, I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to friends. The price without the Groupon was expensive for a generic mani/pedi in a small suburb that’s a drive from Madison.
