Meal was ok, but not worth the $$. Service was slow, paid for atmosphere. Could have gotten a much better steak for the money at a steak house.

Sitting at the bar on any given Tuesday for«taps and apps» is really fun. The patrons are often interactive, primarily because of the bartenders(Joe and Natalie). They are both very competent and friendly. The price is right, and the food and drink are exquisite! I hope management has the ability to hire folks like them for other days !!

What a beautiful place. The atmosphere is perfect. We were seated next a fireplace which made it that much better. We did the prix fixe menu. The parsnip carrot soup was wonderful. The monkfish was pretty good. But it was more that I didn’t love monkfish as its more fishy than I prefer. The dessert was great. All in all, I will go back because it is beautiful and quaint with good food!

Just had dinner here and was disappointed with the food as well as the service. Waiter was checking every few minutes for our orders. Felt very rushed & had to reel him in. When we arrived.(With reservations) we were told our table wasn’t ready. Went to the bar and before the very professional bar tender could pour our drinks, the table was ready… in less than 5 minutes. We felt rushed. The meals(organic chicken breast stuffed with lobster and rib eye steak) were average. I guess we just expected better food and better service.

Came here for brunch last Sunday 1) Service: We had made a reservation the day before and our party of four was quickly seated upon arrival. Waitstaff was quite attentive but we did have to remind our sever a few times to refresh beverages and to clear plates. 2) Ambiance: We were seated in a booth in the Tavern. Very cozy and relaxed. The room got increasingly more crowded as the morning/early afternoon carried on. At times, it could get loud. 3) Food: The brunch buffet consisted of all the breakfast favorites(french toast, premium bacon, home fries), two salads, fruit(honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon), make-your-own omelet and carving station(turkey, pork loin, and steak). The traditional breakfast items and turkey was very good. Someone in my party got the pork loin, which he said was tough. Desert involved a chocolate fountain with different snacks that could be dipped(rice crispy treat, strawberries). Bottomless champaign and mimosas(but soft drinks or milk are NOT included with the price!). While we all enjoyed the food, the majority of plates lacked creativity and distinctive flavors I would still recommend Mirabelle’s brunch. Not cheap, but still a good value for the quality and quantity of the food.

My husband and I went last night for a date night. We were seated in the bar area and appetizers arrived within a minute of ordering. The Chicken was chewy and had to be sent back, the chef sent a message to us to order something else that’s how the chicken is supposed to be. As you can imagine, the night was ruined. They removed any charge for my Husbands meal but our meal was ruined. I ate my meal but my husband was too aggravated to eat. What was supposed to be a nice meal at a «4 star» restaurant was a disaster. I ate alone but we left and salvaged our evening taking a long walk by the water. Next time, anywhere but here.

Our family dropped in here a few weeks back for a late dinner after an event in the Tavern. Mirabelle Taven is located at the Three Village Inn in Stony Brook. It’s a fancy style French-American comfort food resto but the Tavern area is the way to go if just looking for a solid bite and some drinks Dimly lit, chill vibe, laid back atmosphere. There was even a musician playing guitar and singing. Nice comfortable spot to take a date and chat over some cocktails. Service was a bit slow and it took a while for our food to arrive but maybe it was because we had around 20 people there. Seems like they couldn’t sufficiently handle a large group like us on this night. Anyway, just get the Tavern Burger and drool. It’s so good. The carmelized onions on top make it right. The Fries are solid too.

This is going to be super short — I’ve had a recent string of fantastic experiences at the Tavern(wholly at the bar), and large due in part to the great experience I receive service wise from Samantha the bartender as well as the food. They’ve really nailed it on their dishes day in day out — it makes me really happy because I’ve always loved the Tavern. Thanks guys. THIS has been a review by Gaurav

a pleasant pub remind me of UK, one of the only around town. very nice food and pleasant service. Have tried plenty of their dishes, always not disappointing. Slider, Roast duck, arctic char, and lovely dessert selection. Nice selection of beer on tap as well. Always able to find a seat and decent atmosphere. Only was the brunch that I think it’s not worth the money though.

Restaurant week spring 2015 $ 27.95 @ person and tax, tips. I thought good deals First course was good. We were happy. Main course was paella of chicken, chorizo, clams, mussels, squid and shrimp Very bad. Paella Wes very Salty. Clams was lot of sand inside clams. That horrible! I could not finish main at all. Dessert was bad as well. I had sorbet trio of flavors. Sorbet taste like soap, must be. was not clean ice cream maker. I am not recommend any person at all.

This restaurant did not meet our high expectations. My husband and I are food snobs, so I have to start with that disclaimer. We are Michelin-Star fanatics and have an intolerance to ordinary food in ordinary places. For many years now this restaurant has been on our list, and since we moved from Glen Cove to Northport we were closer to it and decided to try it with our parents while visiting Stony Brook. There was a wedding or wedding party going on at the other side of the restaurant, and we sat in the Victorian-looking room, which somewhat felt haunted(for those who believe in that sort of thing). The energy at the restaurant was just strange, the service was average, the food choices were average, and the taste was average. There was just nothing special about it at all, but the people who were there that day seemed to me to be on the weird side — nothing against weird, just not our crowd. It seemed more like we were in Salem than on Long Island if you know what I mean. The tasting menu was not really a tasting menu but rather a prix fix one. My entire party was in agreement that we would not return.

Mirabelle Tavern has been my go to spot on Sundays for the past few years. Their sunday brunch is out of this world. Its free champagne and mimosas so make sure to bring a designated driver with you. During the dinner time Chef Guys menu fits perfect with the ambiance of the restuarant and its history. It consists of little french and new American. If you ever want to come here dont be the cheapskate to eat during the restaurant week, because the odds of getting optimal service with consistent food is slim to none in any restaurant week establishment that week. If you come here on a nice weekday or a weekend make sure to try the duck. If you plan on coming sundays make sure to sit by the fireplace its really cozy. On most sundays dont be too suprised if you see, reality shows filming or people running around with cameras, they usually film weddings and reality show based stuff on sundays here. Try not to kill yourself to check in on Unilocal or take photos because your wont be able to post it, because theres absolutely no service in the restaurant. They recently got wifi but its very spotty.

Was able to convince the hubster to work outside of his comfort zone tonight… so we strolled into the Tavern At the 3VI. Oh my, momma was happy. A really good ale was on tap, the bartender was not worthy of remark however. Everyone was decked out in Banana so at least they were stylin. Ordered a cheddar encrusted cod with some funky celery root slaw that came with a maple glaze. Sounds odd but trust me friends, I so would have licked that plate if given the opportunity. The big man had a prime rib and was very pleased with the quality of the cut. Well prepared root vegetables finished the plate. They offered ice cream but I am still suffering from turkey overload, so this girl said thanks but no thanks. We will need to revisit the Tavern shortly. Maybe the barmen will smile next time!

We chose this place because it had everything we wanted to remind us of France: foie gras, mussels, and more foie gras. When we got here and saw that it was a tavern plus B&B, we were pleasantly surprised – the whole place was bigger yet homely. They made us wait a little even though we had reservations but the food was worth waiting for. Oysters were fresh. And the foie gras mousse and sautéed was Bön Appetite! The wait staff was awesome-everytime I tried to take a selfie I couldn’t because they would come over and take our pic.

The Mirabelle Tavern is a nice place to have dinner. Very fancy, and pricey but worth it. Last night I had the seared château steak which was cooked to perfection. Although I did not have anything to drink with my meal last night, they have a wide selection of beers and wines on their drink menu. I will warn you though that if you plan on coming here on a Saturday night, make a reservation!

This was formerly the Three Village Inn, where my honey and I had our commitment ceremony on 07÷07÷07, under a historical tree in the front. The tree is now gone(from a storm) and the restaurant changed hands and renovated. We went there one night on our anniversary and were surprised with the changes. The restaurant changed to a French restaurant on the right side of the building, with a menu of foods that made us feel out-classed. On the left of the restaurant is where they hold wedding receptions. I have memories of having family breakfasts with my whole family and private lunches with my mother there. In the center of this historic building is the tavern. We went to the tavern section and had delicious pumpkin soup, fillet mignon, potatoes and greens. Gone were the beautiful floral dinnerware that used to grace the table, it was replaced with white dishes. We sat in front of the fireplace, as we had done so many times before, but the restaurant lost it’s old time charm. The food was delicious and the waitstaff were kind and helpful. The restaurant is lovely, but has lost the old world elegance it used to have. We are still committed to each other and will be legally married on this year. We just can’t go back again, we’re moving on.

I dropped off my teenager at the movies Friday night. Somehow the Smithhaven Mall area is now Lake Ronkonkoma’s «restaurant row». I drive up to one of the big chain places and I’m told its a 75 minute table wait. Are you friggin’ serious? Thanks but no thanks. I’l go to my quite place in Stonybrook. Mirabelle Tavern. The Tavern is a completely different vibe from the restaurant. Its a small town gastropub hidden within the hotel. To the right, the amazing French restaurant. To the left is the Tavern which has a nice bar with about 10 great beers on tap. I order a Palm beer and we’re seated at a nice corner table by the fireplace. If you’ve never been here before, may I suggest my favorite item? Its the Tavern burger. Its a made on a fresh brioche bun, caramelized onions and a special meat blend makes the tavern burger one pretty tasty Saturday night dinner. We start off with(3) small plates for $ 15 Mixed olives in olive oil Foie Gras Shepard’s pie Just sitting in the dark pub with its fireplace and red walls, its a very charming place for dinner on a Saturday night. Just to point out, the Foie Gras is amazing! Our burgers come out and they’re cooked perfectly. The french fries are also on point. This service is a little slow but its packed with friendly neighborhood folks. Take your time, have a beer and chill. We’re finished with our dinner, look 75 minutes later and we walking out the door. Imagine waiting for a chain restaurant? Mirabelle Tavern!

Incredible meal. I cannot say enough about this place… we had xmas eve dinner at the bar last evening, and it was one of the best meals I had all year. Outstanding food and wine and a very festive atmosphere. I cannot wait to return.

When I go into a restaurant like this during restaurant week and they have skimped so heavily on the menu, I already know the passion I look for is not there and they just see it as a loss of revenue. A truly wonderful place will use restaurant week to show gratitude to foodies, and look at it as an opportunity to show of their best. ITISONEWEEK! I was SO disappointed with Mirabelle/Tavern(same menu, same chef SAMEPLACEDIFFERENTROOMS) They skimped HARD during restaurant week. I was so disappointed in them I was REALLY waiting to try them out, it just happens we had time during restaurant week so why not right? I will say the Froie Gras was AMAZING. That is where it ended for me. The food way average, my veal Milanese was like fried leather with a giant wet salad on top of it. The dessert was a horror show. The waitress(who was very sweet) told us the chef was from Portugal so naturally we assumed the«Portuguese flan» would at least be something special… I kid you not it was I think a store bought slice of some crappy custard pie, with a pie crust and everything. We also got the«chocolate mousse«which was also some kind of cup of store brought chocolate foamy pudding icing crap which was obviously swirled into a cup sometime that week and refrigerated until it landed in front of me in all its shame. The bill was well over $ 100(go figure they had an added charge for the one good item, the Froie Gras) and oh yes the«pâté» we also ordered to tryout out. It was also not anything to brag about. Shame on you Mirabelle/Tavern you should not be in that great location. We will not go back for regular dining because of this restaurant week horror show… lol
