This is a really good café. The food and service are great! If you haven’t tried it, you should. Prices are good as well. Stonewall is very unique. I generally stop by Weinheimers and Sons when in Stonewall, which is an old school and awesome grocery slash hardware store. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that stores like that still exist. Long live Stonewall, Texas. :)

This place is a very laid back family owned business pretty much noticed the whole family seems to work there. The girls who are the waitresses are completely friendly. And like I said it’s a very laid-back place so if you’re expecting super super fast service and your use to snapping your fingers at people this is not for you. these girls seem to work hard and are upbeat. Food was good I like the service it’s very genuine. cute place.i ate the small cheeseburger :0)

this doesn’t even deserve one star. the food was straight out of a freezer, i had ordered the hamburger steak and it tasted like a hungry man t.v. dinner. the hush puppies were filled with cream corn, and my tea tasted like earth. also, the waiters and waitresses dont pick up their tips from past customers, so dont worry about tipping.

Chicken fried steak was good… mashed potatoes were a little too chunky for me… green beans needed seasoning. Hubby drank all of his water and patiently waited in vain for a refill. Guess you are only allowed one glass.

This is a down-home kind of place where the service is slow but friendly. Spouse ordered something called a «Half Mexican Platter,» which meant beans, rice, one enchilada and one corn tortilla. Spouse proclaimed it was satisfactory, not special — but probably better than some we’ve had. I had a huge cheese quesadilla — melted cheese, flour tortillas, what can go wrong? — and a cup of Very Good cabbage/tomato/beef soup. As is often the case, this little restaurant turns out good soup, my bet is from leftovers which is often the way to produce the best soup. The unsweet iced tea was YUKKY, however, perhaps because of the water.(As a side note, we’d tried to eat across the road at Stonewall Diner, a restaurant that gets much higher reviews, but turned out to close at 2 pm on Saturday. Lindigs, however, was open and doing a landoffice mid-Saturday afternoon business.)

I loved the chicken fried steaks and eggs for breakfast, staff was friendly, service was fairly good considering it was a full house. Will definitely be visiting in the future.

Had lunch with the family on way to Fburg. Nothing served was homemade. All prepared foods heat and serve. Disappointing, but prices are cheap so I guess that’s the goal here.

The ponytailed waitress was a delight, the catfish wasn’t. The homemade tea had an odd taste, so the lovely waitress exchanged mine for a can of diet coke. Don’t miss the sink in the ladies room. Someone has a sense of humor on evidence.

The service was absolutely the greatest, 4 stars for them. The food wasn’t that great. I had a breakfast taco with overlooked eggs and a very tiny amount of bacon. The beef tacos at lunch were luke warm, greasy, and under salted. The service was great:)

It’s fine, but not memorable. Except for the service, which was super-duper surly. It was as if she(there was only one server during the 3:00 pm «rush») was annoyed that she had a couple of her tables actually taken up with paying customers. They fried my Tater Tots in super-old oil, so they tasted funny. And, the house salad is topped with grated cheese.

We regretted not eating here more often, where as, most meals in Fredericksburg were overpriced and not super great. Total local diner. Two of us had the«thanksgiving lunch» with the turkey, dressing, potatoes, etc., it was all great. The biscuits and gravy were also awesome. My son had the nachos for his meal and loved it. If we go back to Fredericksburg, we will hit this place on the way there for sure. Oh, and the breakfast tacos looked really big and good, but we didn’t have them.

Should’ve left when the waitress came with her bad attitude. But that was only the beginning-the chicken fried steak was inedible. It was a thin piece of steak with tempura like breading. They tried covering it with globs of gravy. And the bowl of chili tasted as if was from a can. The prices were too high for these disgusting meals. I could’ve eaten better food at a gas station.

Lindigs was recommended by a local so we felt confident stopping. We were very disappointed. It was 2:00 in the afternoon so the place was almost empty. The waitress acting like we were an annoyance; no smile, not the least bit friendly. My friend enjoyed her catfish but the rest of us were very disappointed. Frozen fries, grilled chicken was dry, patty melt was bland. Too many other good choices a little further down the road either direction.

One of my best friends happens to live a few miles down the road from here, and on the few occasions that I have visited him, Lindigs is almost a guaranteed breakfast spot in the morning. The interior is nothing special, though one funny thing about this place is that they have local business advertisements actually printed onto the table. The sausage patties here are just simply my favorite. The hints of sweetness, saltiness, and spice exuding from every bite has me salivating, thinking about each succulent mouthfuls. The friends I have brought here have commented on how delicious the bacon is. Definitely go for the breakfast tacos. A single taco is definitely on the large size and comes with a little side of salsa. On my last trip, I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese. Wow! I should start ordering two because they are so damn good, though one taco and a side of hash browns fills me up up nicely without being overstuffed. They also offer a loaded mega taco too that looks like a giant breakfast burrito. On out last visit, the Peach Festival was going on, and that Saturday morning, they were experiencing a bigger crowd than usual. Our group of seven came in, ordered, and waited a very long time for our food. Our server was okay, though no one on staff seemed that concerned that the customers at the tables without food were all looking around anxiously. I am speculating that there was only one cook back there because breakfast is one of the easiest meals to cook, and it seemed like an eternity as I watched food slowly trickle out. If you know a big festival is in town, you might want some extra help in the kitchen! I ordered my hash browns extra crispy, and it was given to someone else in our party, as our waitress did not specify which one was crispy and was just calling out the orders and passing them out. The potatoes barely hot anyway and was the only big disappointment as they were on the undercooked side. You pay at the counter when you are finished. They split the check for you up there.

This place is just a little hole in the wall up the rode from LBJ State Park. Out for a day of photography & stopped by for a small bite before LBJ Park started selling tickets. It’s very simple, just a quiet little diner at a shut down gas station in Stonewall, Texas. A group of old men sat in the corner in their jackets & cowboy hats talking politics & history, etc. There was only one waitress, but she was very attentive with a great smile & a full pot of coffee, exactly what was needed after the pre-dawn wake up. Other than that… well… I have to be honest… and this may sound silly… but the syrup was way too sweet!!! One may say, «Duh! It is syrup! It is supposed to be sweet!!», but, gah! It was so sweet I took 2 bites of my pancake & pushed it away. That’s the only negative. It ain’t fancy, prices are decent, coffee is hot, service was great! I’d go again, but next time I’ll get the breakfast tacos.

If all the restaurants on Main Street in Fredericksburg are too packed to get into, take a short drive east of town on HWY290 and give this place a try. Prices were fair, service and food were both good. The wife had the burger and even though it looked to me like it was just a frozen patty from the grocery store, she said it was quite tasty. I had the BBQ chicken plate special. It was half a chicken and included potato salad and baked beans. Although the chicken seemed to be baked and then covered with BBQ sauce, it was still very good. I would recommend this place if you are looking for eats near Fredericksburg but you don’t want to deal with all the tourists. Muy bueno!!!

One of the best breakfast taco’s you’ll ever have! It’s pretty much a jumbo burrito served with amazing salsa… fresh, delicious, homemade… you can taste the love that goes into the food here! Coffee was overwhelmingly delicious… not too many places do coffee right anymore. I love that Lindig’s is family owned & operated. The waitstaff was great, good hometown vibe!
