The Muddy Paw

The salon is CLOSED. All the ladies have moved to Spa 4 Paws. I found it weird that I have been calling for a week straight and no one answered the phone. I finally called Spa 4 Paws and made an appointment for my Yoshi. When my husband dropped him off, the lady told him that the muddy paw was out of business.

Dropped off my 2 dogs. When I got them back their cuts were choppy, they were sneezing and rolling around and there was cut hair all over my car. I actually got them home and had to rewash them. They didn’t smell good. Well they didn’t smell bad but they didn’t smell like anything at all. My female didn’t have bows or anything. Very disappointed. The price is reasonable but I’ve taken them elsewhere for the same price with way better results. Oh yeah, my poor elderly male dog drank water four at least 5 minutes straight when we got home. He was famished. Poor dogs. Never again.

This place seems totally disorganized. Called on a Friday afternoon and asked if I could bring my cat in on Saturday. The woman who I spoke to said I could bring the cat in around 9am, and took my name and the cat’s name. When I showed up at 9am the next day, there were 3 dogs tied up drying, all barking at the same time at the top of their lungs. You have to ring a bell to be let in, and I don’t think they even heard the bell. Took them a while to notice I was there. There was poop on the sidewalk right in front of the door. The space is open so the dogs can all see each other and anyone who comes in, so naturally they’re going to bark. Not a great system. Why would you not separate them so they’re not freaking out? The dogs were all barking so loudly I could barely have a conversation with the woman. She said they had no record of my appointment, even after checking with the other woman there. I said I’d called the previous afternoon, and asked if she knew who was working then. She said she did, but that the person wasn’t working today. And she said it might not be good for a cat to be there today with all the dogs. No kidding! Even if they had been able to take her, I would not have left my cat there. We won’t be back.

Didn’t actually get to go in. I called first because I had a question and the lady who answered just sounded like I was in her way. I asked about flea bathing and she just told me she couldn’t do it this weekend. I had to ask why and she gave me a very rude tone and said «we’re busy» and didn’t even offer an alternative, or a suggestion then hung up. I guess business is just that good that they can be so unprofessional over the phone.

When I got my new shihtzu Cha Cha I asked around for recommendations quite a bit of people mention Muddy Paw so I gave it a try. Gerri Cut cha cha The very first time and I was extremely happy and she listened, i’ve been taking her there ever since and haven’t had a problem. I like to take her very early so she’s only there a couple hours. Cha cha never comes out of that place frightened either that’s a good sign

Ask for Gerri and u won’t be disappointed! Love her work my Pomeranians always look so adorable after Gerri does their hair.

Took our baby Zeus here too get his nails cut and a trim, staff was pleasant, and seemed knowledgeable, didn’t know what to do with his hair I said trimming she said not much to trim so she’s the pro I went with that left him around 945 pick up was before 2, he came back smelling clean and with a new attitude he knew he was the cool pup on the block lol overall good experience it would be nice to see a full menu of services didn’t see one might have over looked it though we will be going back. Very reasonable price.

My wife and I have a small dog, a Lhasa-​poo. At pet-​co our small (20 lbs) dog cost us about $ 75 dollars for a shave and shampoo.
At The Muddy Paw its $ 35 dollars, for the same thing!
They do a great job, she is always looking/​smelling nice and its in the Lincoln Center!
You’re telling me that I have almost paid double for the same thing!

My dog is a female Toy Poodle 7 lbs and petite with a very sweet disposition and does not suffer from anxieties. This is our 3^rd time taking our dog to Muddy Paw and our last. On our first visit we were charged $ 20.00 extra for picking our dog up after 4pm. What!!! We were not told of this additional charge at the time I dropped off our dog they had asked me for our contact number, But made no attempt to call us to pick her up. Muddy Paw asks you to drop your dog off from 7 – 10 am and no appointments are made or required. On our second visit I had requested they call my wife to get specifics on how to groom our dog. When my wife picked up the dog she looked washed but not cut and she was still a little on the damp side. But livable. Today when I dropped my dog off I asked the owner to call my wife, which she did. They called my wife back to inform her that they would need to cut her back a little more because of matting. My wife was o.k. with this. When my wife picked up the poodle she was shocked our dog had been cut all the way to the skin and in many areas uneven. It is currently 36 degrees and 7 lbs doesn’t keep you real warm. Her ears were left long and when my wife questioned this, they told her that she needed to be specific on how to cut them. My thought a trim would of been fine. I don’t know to many poodles that don’t have their ears trimmed when they get groomed. Looks really stupid! My wife asked to talk to the owner and wanted her money back. The owner preceded to tell her from the phone she was not available and asked us to bring the dog back tomorrow. Not possible we live out of town and there was staff on hand that could have corrected this problem with her unevenness. My Wife left the Muddy Paw disgusted and brought the dog to my work to show me. It was not good. It gets worse. My wife set the dog down and our dog preceded to vomit twice and crap. When the dog crapped it was bleeding from the rectum excessively and has continued to bleed each time it takes a crap. My dog is traumatized and if someone tries to tell me other wise. You need to see a shrink! Our dog is suffering! Period! I am disappointed because my animal is injured and suffering from getting groomed and things like this don’t need to happen and when they do remember animals are breathing and living and need to be handled with care. THINK TWICE…

All I can say is «My poor puppy.» My first time bringing my little dog here and definitely my last. I dropped him off around 9 am and he was done at 3 pm. They don’t do appointments so you just have to drop off your dog between 7am and 10am. My puppy had a couple mats on his chest so I knew that he would have to be shaved pretty short. When he came out, that wasn’t a problem for me. The hair on his face (which had no mats at all) was choppy and jagged. It seriously looked like they took scissors and cut away. It wasn’t smooth and clean looking like other dog grooming places I’ve experienced.
My dog has been to another groomer before so it’s not like he’s not afraid of people. He’s definitely not a wild dog. So I don’t see how the hair on his face could look like a toddler cut it. It was just horrible. Plus, when I picked him up he just looked frightened and was ready to get out of there. One of the women there was nice (I believe the one who cut his hair), but the one who processed the transaction had a sharp attitude. Overall, they didn’t seem to show too much enthusiasm or concern for what cut you want for your dog.
CHOPPY HAIR CUT and a frightened dog. I don’t think I’ll be back.
But for those of you who do want to try this place out, here are some points:
— drop off is between 7 am — 10 am (since they don’t set appointments)
— cash or check only
— cost for my small toy breed was $ 32.50
— it covers cut, nails, and I’m assuming shampoo

My dog always comes back very well groomed. They’re fast too. I usually drop by dog off before class around 8 am and he’s always ready to be picked up right after class (around noon). The place I go to back in San Jose takes almost the whole day.
Price is cheap too. $ 30 for a Shih Tzu with a few hair mats.

I recently switched to The Muddy Paw and am completely satisfied. My dog was super soft and very well groomed when I picked him up. I really appreciate their ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ slots. Really a great serveice they have to offer… and it’s right next door to the vet’s office!
