This place is slowly climbing the top of list for beers. There is always a wide variety of beer and cider here. Not to mention, the food is good as well. Their fries are well battered and their salad is delicious. I came here on a Friday night with friends and I ordered the burger. The sauce on the burger was great and the fries were amazing as usual. The unique part about the fries is that they have over 15 unique sauces you can choose to pair with your fries. The chipotle aioli and paprika ketchup are the two staples I get every time. The third sauce is for you to try whichever one your heart chooses. As for the beers, I always get the Hefeweizen on tap and my girlfriend gets the ciders. The pineapple cider is really good and not overly sweet. The cherry cider was too sour for the both of us.

The food was good, and of course the beer was delicious. The menu isn’t too large, but the choices are good. The area is good and the establishment is quaint. I would go again.

The secret to the place must be the beer & I don’t drink beer. It’s a tiny place, dark, people are so close you hear every word of their conversations. The gal was nice. My wine was good, good sandwich & fries, but, not great. Would we go back-maybe to see if our first impression was right, if we didn’t have to drive far.

My daughter got sick from eating there. The pulled pork sandwich made her very sick. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

My boyfriend and I moved out to Stockton last year and this place always seems to be where we end up Saturday during the day, on the off chance we both are free. Recently we went Saturday unplanned(a meal from another restaurant just didn’t cut it) and I had a hankering for a saison. The boyfriend is an IPA drinker and is never ever disappointed with the selection, and the rotating taps. I tried a recommended grapey saison(9%) and I loved it! The people working there are always super nice and down to earth, and knowledgable about their spirits. Food: UMYES. As much as I always want to try other things, I generally go with the pulled pork sandwich. It kills! Saturday however, I was feeling frisky and went with the snack board and Dutch fries. It was perfect, the board was very well balanced with a small assortment of cheeses, baguette, walnuts, and cranberries. I was in heaven. Always am when there. The atmosphere is super chill, a small space which I really like. It doesn’t feel too loud when people are in there and doesn’t feel like a library when they aren’t. My honey and I sort of go into our own little world when we sit on the front corner booth. It’s a must go to enjoy wordly beers, and crafted pub bites that make your taste buds sing.

Okay, so I got sprinkled by the Hipster Ass Craft Beer Fairy a few years ago. So? Don’t judge. I like beer. And when I moved back home a little more than a year ago, I figured I was going back to the land of Natty Ice. Turns out I was 98% wrong. That remaining 2% represents the Natty Ice my now-boyfriend handed to me when we first met back up. Had I been any more Craft Beer Bitch-like, I probably would have rejected his advances. But I didn’t, so there. And now, he likes the craft beer too. The Abbey is my choice spot when I need craft beer in my life. It’s not the only spot in town, but I like that those who pour there(S/O to my girl Lauren HEYGIRLHEEEEEY) really know their shit. And the food is pretty damn tasty too. Now if only they could get some DAMN Russian River in there… can a girl get some Pliny The Elder and Damnation in this town???

Met a friend here the other day, for a few beers. Being my first time actually stopping in Stockton, this place looks cool on my Unilocal app, so off I go on this very chilly day. I pop in and am surprised at how small the place is. For me, that was perfect. A few seats by the window, to keep an eye on Bessie, plenty of liquid barley options, nice décor with great pictures on the walls and warm, welcoming service from Bonnie, our bartender. I sample a stout and am sold. It was so nice, I had it twice. Food ordered was a steak sandwich with fries, along with fish n chips. One of he best fish n chips I’ve ever had, although the fish was a bit too greasy for my taste but otherwise perfectly seasoned and cooked. Fries could have been better and sauces were okay but nothing memorable. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and are definitely looking forward to a return visit.

This is a great little hole in the wall pub. The staff knows what they’re talking about and the food is yummy. Small menu, but that allows them to spend time perfecting what they do. Prices are on the mark but it can get loud because it’s such a small space. With the cool vibe, I would love to be able to relax and just have a chat with friends. There is a little room in the back that could probably fit 10 more people or so, so check for it if the front is crammed or try and grab one of the 2 or 3 tables outside. I hope to become a regular… if I can get inside.

So much love for this spot. Was the best kept secret for awhile. Been going here since it first opened and have recommended hella of my friends to go here. Quality of customer service has always been the same, STELLAR. Josh and the rest of the staff know a ton about beer and are happy to let you taste something new on tap. I’ve recently moved to Washington State, but any chance I’m in Stockton I have to stop here. Beer: They are constantly having tap take overs so there is something always new to try and with so many local breweries it’s great. Plus they always have my favorite in the fridge, my Ol faithful Sierra Nevada TORPEDO exrta IPA. Food: Let’s just say I use to schedule my meals around fish taco Fridays. The best fish tacos I’ve ever had! One will do with an order of fries, but it’s hard to resist ordering that second taco. They have an assortment of flavored ketchups to go with the fries my all time favorite is the mango ketchup. Environment: Low-key place doesn’t get too loud, but can get packed quick on Fridays or Saturday nights. Awesome pub to catch up with friends or take a date to. It’s a place where you can grab great food, try new beers and actually hear the conversation your having. 10⁄10 overall

Great beer spot. Two fridges full of top notch beer. Helpful staff. This pub will satisfy any beer snob. Only bad thing I could can say is it would be cool to have more taps.

We had a great time. Great selection of beers. The frog legs were fun and tasty. I had the steak sandwich cooked just right and my hot date had the very good fish and chips. We will be back next time we are in town.

Fries were good, but somewhat like the cheaper crinkle-cut kind you find in the frozen food section if a grocery. Comes with 3 sauces from a long list of options: got the siracha ketchup, garlic aoili, and chipotle(garlic aoili was the best). Beers were good. You can get a flight of 4 draft styles for $ 12. My favorites were the lager and the sweet(Porter?). Burger was meh. Ordered Medium-Well, it arrived super well done(like a blackened back yard BBQ). Did not like the potato salad(mustard-based?) Wife got and enjoyed the steak sandwich. Side salad unexpectedly came with Gorgonzola, but was still good after picking out the cheese. Service was quick. You order at the bar, which I didn’t get at first. Friendly and attentive servers. Interior is pretty small. I’d go back for beer, but not food.

This place gets my first 5. If you find yourself in Stockton, go here. We both had juicy pulled pork sandwiches with crispy Belgian fries and their amazing dipping sauces. Everything was excellent. We were embarrased because we couldn’t finish the sandwiches but not to take home the dipping sauces. The beer selection is exceptional and the cool bartender said was rotating often. Lagunitas Citrusinesis, my lucky day. «Thou shalt not defile thy tasting privileges» !!! This place is tiny, so if you’re rolling in on a fri/saturday night, expect to wait. Also, if you have issues with beer geeks, hipsters, punks, goths or any other non-mainstream individuals, there’s a Round Table Pizza up the street.

First time here and the place is really small but it’s a nice hole in the wall pub. Ordered the Mahi tacos with mango salsa and it was delicious; my boyfriend ordered the Oyster Po’ boy sandwich and that was really good too. Both orders were specials on the board. The fries that came with is were hot and fresh which made it good. I liked how there were different sauces to get. My boyfriend ordered the Pear Ginger Beer and he said it was a good light beer. Felt kind of rushed as we were ordering, but other than, it was overall a good experience.

Very great selection of beers and staff was very nice. It was very quiet and intimate when we went, but it was a Friday night and they had to close an hour early because business wasn’t picking up. Not sure if it is always that slow, but if a quiet little bar is your kind of place to hang out, The Abbey is a place you should check definitely check out. For fruity beers, the Fruli strawberry beer(sold out by the end of the night) and Samuel Smith’s raspberry beer are good choices. Their tap probably rotates every now and then, but the double IPA that they had was on tap during my visit was really good!

Really great selection of beers! Not as much as a yardhouse but definitely a very unique/rare selection of the craft/trappist brews. As far as food goes, I got the Abbey Burger. It was cooked pretty well. I got it medium rare and it actually came out medium rare, which is pretty rare(as some places still overcook it… no pun intended). Friend got the fish taco which seems to only be on certain days… Fridays or Saturdays I believe. They also include gourmet sauces for your fries. You can choose like 3. I got the Mango Ketchup, Papprica Ketchup, and Lemon Aioli. I would NOT get the Papprica Ketchup again lol. It seems they also have beer events goin on which is really cool in my book. Overall, if I was livin in Stockton, this would probably be my goto for beer.

Burger, sandwich, fish and chips, etc…

If you love beer, come here!!! This tiny pub has a wide selection of beer that changes every time I visit. The bartender is great at recommending beers depending on your preference. Aside from beer, this place also has serves food! The Belgian fries are huge, but also really salty. They have a big selection of sauces to try with your fries. The best part in my opinion is dollar oyster Tuesdays. Come early because they run out quickly! The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. This is my friend’s and my favorite place to grab a beer and chat.

This quaint little pub is definitely one of the highlights of the miracle mile! I recommend it to any and all beer lovers. Although I myself am not much of a beer drinker, there are a few that I do enjoy. The«beerista» is also very helpful with recommendations if you don’t know what you want. I was pleasantly surprised with their food too. We ordered the lockeford sausage sampler and a half order of fries. The portions were plentiful. And the food itself was very delicious! The pickles were so cute and small, easily my favorite out of everything, but the fries were perfectly crispy, and all of the sausage was yummy. I will be back for more!
