Inside of restaurant is in need of serious updating. The placement of building, terrible location. Customer service sucks. The fried rice os old and cold. I asked for chicken fried rice so I could get new fresh rice. Wrong. There was no frying going on on the back. The rice was dark brown which indicates old reused rice. Plus the veggies in the rice were just thrown on top of the rice. This tells me they did cook it together. Then the rice was cooling down fast, which indecates it was just warmed up then sent out to me. The so called chicken, might not be. There are hard chunckes of some type of meat in the rice. Well, I’m now convinced Stockton has no clue as to what good any kind of food is. Not eating here again!!! Disgusting

This place is the bomb! If you’re a health freak, don’t bother coming. This place is meant to have flavor for a chip price. I will always go there.

I disagree with all the bad reviews. The chicken is really really good! I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. There were different owners.

This is a local spot in south Stockton. I tried the fried chicken(good), fried rice(interestingly very brown), and vegetable(awesome sauce!). The buffet price is affordable. Staff is friendly and keeps food stocked. Many repeat customers know the staff by first name which reminds me of Cheers. Its a small restaurant, not the cleanest, boxes visible in a corner, but locals dont seem to mind. If you value cleanliness and food variety then go to panda Express. Otherwise this is a good spot to hit.

Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Born and raised in Stockton. Lived on Grant and ate here once a week with my mom when I was young. She ate here also when she was young. They have fried rice to die for, chow mein, chicken, vegetables, pork, sweet n sour sauce for pork, then if its lunch theres egg foo young: D~, dinner has fried prawns. They have free water or fountain drink cup to buy, refills are not free. I’d understand people aren’t use to the people that live in Stockton but if your here to have great food and not listen or worry about people around you then all is good. The little lady’s are real nice but don’t speak much English. Oh and they only take CASH. I tell people give this place a chance, if u don’t want to eat there then take a plate to go. You won’t be sorry :)

My first impression when I walked in, it was your typical mom & pop place with cute little asian people in the front ready to serve you. The food was hot and ready, either for«to-go» or «dine in.» They prefer that you pay first then eat, which is no biggie. They are a «smörgåsbord» style type of place, where you help yourself. I grabbed my plate and had a bit of everything, the food was great for the place. I mean, it’s hard to find a decent place with decent prices for the amount they give you. Which is UNLIMITED. Where can ya find a place like that? My favorites are the fried rice(with extra green onions pls!), and fried chicken. Best with the hot sauce they provide for you in those big jars they have on the tables(not the Tapitio). It’s a pretty self sufficient restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. It gets pretty busy on the weekends and they’re closed on Mondays(boo!!) I am a regular customer there and definitely recommends anyone that super hungry looking for a deal! I gotta warn you, even though it’s on Charter way with tiny bits of crazies, that won’t thwart me from the great food there. I will be coming back that’s for sure!

I have had their food since I was little. The food is great and the prices are so cheap. I did notice that they are trying to make it look nicer inside the restaurant. They have chow mein which is good, fried rice which is good, fried chicken which is really good, fried shrimp which is hella good and they have sweet and sour pork which is okay and fried wonton shells that you can eat with the sweet and sour sauce which is okay too. And they have fried tilapia which I have never tried. And if you come early I Think right before dinner I’m not sure they have egg foo yung which I’ve tried there is a gravy that goes with it I think it taste okay.

I’d hate to be the bringer of bad news. Actually just ignore my review, my standards are probably too high. I’m not from Stockton, so I have tons of readily available Chinese food. The fried rice is like a dark brown with ham and green onions. Not too bad, it’s just your typical«combo plate» rice and noodles. They serve a vegetable, that is heavily sauced with a «cornstarch» texture. The fried shrimp was really good(good sized and tenderness) and the pork was a little hard and dry but with the sweet and sour sauce made it good. I actually really liked the fried chicken drumstick… oh man it’s good! It has the Asian flavor, but it’s like fried chicken. Totally worth it. However I wish the Filipino Food Express was open on Friday night, but it’s okay. I’d give this place a 2.5ish, but since it’s a smörgåsbord(you don’t find many Chinese smorgasbords), I’m bumping it up to 3 stars!

I’ve been hittin up Sun Garden since I was a kid. My mom and I would walk here When she got off work, and we would eat buffet food and watch tv there since we didn’t have cable. Of course this spot is hella hood, but hella homey as well. You shouldn’t judge this place by it’s cover, but by the simple flavorful dishes they serve.

I’ve been going here ever since I could remember. And all I can say is that, I love it here! Though I could understand why others could be turned off by it. It isn’t the best looking restaurant in the world, and definitely not the cleanest. But the food is soooo good! And definitely a spot that us Southside Stockton folk like to frequent. When I used to visit home here in Stockton while living in LA, this would be one of the places I would go to eat first. Their vegetable dish has a sauce to die for! Their fried chicken is the delicious and their fried rice is extremely brown(lol) and one-of-a-kind.
