Reflections Salon-Spa

Went to a nice reflections salon in Fresno expecting the same here in Stockton… was so wrong! In short they charged me over $ 50 for a 20 min haircut and she didn’t ask me if I wanted a wash n blow-​dry or not… she just did it. In the end I had to pay an extra $ 20 WTF! I hate getting my haircut!!!

OMG! This place is a nightmare! First off, this place has changed owners more times than I can count. It is now called Renew Hair or something like that and if they were on here, I would write a review about them. I had received a couple of gift certificates for my birthday and Christmas and decided that I would treat myself and a friend to a massage. I called to make appointments for the massages. They tell me that one of their massage therapists are on vacation and won’t be back for a few weeks. I then mention that I had some gift certificates. That’s when they told me that they probably wouldn’t be able to accept them as they are now under new ownership. I leave my name and number and ask that either the new owner or manager to give me a call.
Two weeks go by before I get a phone call back. The manager, Toby, is who calls and is not very nice. I explain the situation with the gift certificates and she tells me that they can only accept one of the gift certificates because the previous owners did not leave them records of the gift certificates that were sold. I politely explain to her that gift certificates do not have an expiration date, even if the business has changed hands and the consumer should not be penalized. Tobi then tells me that I should be lucky that they are even accepting the more current gift certificate because they really don’t have to.
Needless to say, I won’t be going to Reflections or Renew or whatever it’s going to be called in three weeks. This economy is tough and they obviously don’t want any business.

So I would not reccomend this place… Its been forever since I’ve been here, and I have always just thought it was OK. I love my girl Jess from C’est bell, but unfortunatley she was booked and I needed a blowout and style, so I gave reflections a try. There was some confusion with my appt, and I ended up with Jennifer I believe her name was. You know those older stylists who have been around forever, and have a listening problem, and think they have the best way and get upset when you try to tell them the new updated version to do hair! ehhmmm this is not the 80’sanymore touch up on your styling! This was her.
When I told her what I wanted, which by the way was a normal blowout and style request. She complained about how they screwed up with the appts, and that she did not have time to do «all that» and she would do «the best she could.» First of all not the best way to start out a consultation… there goes your tip right out the door. Its not my fault your salon does not know how to book appts, dont take it out on the customer, then she had just a HUGE attitufe when I would tell her kindly what I know works and what does NOT. So eventually she called another younger stylist over to do my hair, the younger girl did a great job finishing up my hair, she was not in the business for that long so had to tell her a little bit what to do, but at least she LISTENED!
I should say that I am a makeup artist, so am very familiar with servicing clients with my services, so I could not believe how this women thought she could talk to clients. I dont care how long you have been doing hair or how comfortable you are with your job and salon, I get my hair blown out and styled whenver I do not feel like doing my own, and I happen to travel all across the country, and so I KNOW how my hair looks the best, and what I want, if you cant listen then you shouldnt be in the salon and spa business. You will not profit from the best tips most likely.
I tipped the girl who finishes my half done hair, but I just felt like this place was slightly unprofessional, and could maybe use a episode on Tabithas salon Take over! eeek is right!

I was given a gift card to this place by a friend. I’m new to the area so I’m still trying to find all my spots to go to. I went for a massage and found the spa in a small strip mall, very unassuming. But when I went inside it is so much bigger than expected. The interior is so cute. My massage was great. Michelle was amazing! The only thing I did not like was the face pad when you lay down on your stomach. It was very thin so after a while it really started to hurt my face to the point where it was difficult to focus. Honestly everything was great but that. I left with these huge indents in my face that took an hour or so to go away. Hopefully, thicker cushions will be provided!

I made two appts, and both times the aestician didn’t show up. One time I was waiting for 40 mins… never again
Anyhow, I don’t know if that was the receptionist fault because she was too busy to write down the 2^nd appt time. anyway the first no show shouldn’t have happened.

Hilda is amazing for waxes, she makes you feel super comfortable and is very sweet. She did my first brazilian wax and it honestly went by almost completely painlessly. She was recommended to me by a friend. Since then I’ve recommended her to a few of my friends and they’ve become regular customers too.

I’ve been going to this salon for several years now for all my beauty needs and I love it! If you need any waxing or facials Hilda is the person to go to! She is very personable and cute and will take great care of all your skin needs. I had acne that I had been battling for a while and she helped me find the perfect skin regimine to clear up my skin and I haven’t had a bad outbreak since! She also does an amazing wax job, especially eyebrows and brazilians! HIlda recently opened up her own place, Browtique on the Miracle Mile and their ph. number is 939‑1000.
I go to Jaime Skipp for my hair and she is the best stylist! She’s super cute and easy to talk to. She does exactly what you ask and even better! She is the best at cutting textured side bangs. I have also had my hair styled by her for formal occasions and she does a great job! Jaime has recently moved to Destinations Salon which is just behind Kragen’s on Pacific Ave. and Douglas Rd.
Just remember that Hilda and Jaime only take cash or check =]

I found this place by going on Unilocal.I’ve seen it on my drive to work before but I never had stopped in. I was in a big need for a haircut (at least a trim) and this is the place I found.
They were able to fit me in right when I called. The woman I had was Glinda. I told her I just wanted to relayer my hair and trim my bangs. I told her that I’ve had really bad experiences with hair cuts and she was super nice about it. She was suggesting that I should get some high lights and do more to bring more volume to my hair. At the end of my haircut, she even rizzed my hair to give it more volume, and I totally appreciated it. I’m even going back next week for some high lights.
It is reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. My hair cut was $ 25. The reason why I am giving this place a 3.5– 4 stars is because I wish she cut a bit more and she did more to my hair. It didn’t seem any different. But it is definitely a place I would go back to.

I found this salon when I first moved to Stockton about 6 years ago. I was looking for a good cut and style that wasn’t too expensive. I opened up the phone book left to us in my dorm room, looked for the biggest ad (bigger ad meaning pricier ad spot meaning posh salon, right?) and found Reflections.
Well, 6 years later I’m still coming here. I love the people who work here, they are all super friendly and courteous. Ask for Jaime Skipp for your cuts and styles. She’s über cute and adorable and is great at what she does. She actually listens to what you want versus doing what she thinks would look best. She gives great advice and input to help you figure out the most flattering cuts. One thing though, she refuses to color my hair because apparently «there wouldn’t be a prettier color than my natural color.» Go figure.
Oh and FYI, Jaime takes only cash and personal checks.

She’s been doing my hair since summer 2007, and she’s so talented, not to mention super friendly. I was so reluctant about dying my hair at first, but she helped me choose shades that would ease me into the new look, and I absolutely love my color now. I got a full-​weave of highlights, and despite my opposition to being high-​maintenance, I’m still coming back.
Not only that, Reflections is so pretty inside. The theme is like vintage meets modern. It’s nice to get pampered there.
Yea, the cost is a bit pricey, but I’d rather pay a bit more for a great job, than a cheaper price for mediocre highlights.
I’m extremely pleased with my results, and I hope you’ll be too!

don’t do this place, unless you can be absolutely specific about what you want, and you can monitor carefully their progress. i’m a guy, so i usually, just tell them what to do at the beginning, and let my hair stylists work their magic. but this time, i got exactly the opposite of what i wanted. i asked for a small mohawk, and she cut it the completely opposite way. she cut it short down the middle, and left the sides long. i have no idea what she was thinking, but i can’t wait for my hair to start growning back. i guess for now, i’ll just be wearing some baseball caps…

I was a walk-​in at Reflections recently after my scheduled appointment at another salon failed to materialize because the stylist didn’t show up. Brittany at Reflections saved the day by giving me a fantastic haircut at an awesome price. She’s super sweet and takes her time. I’ll be returning to her and referring friends!

Jaime S. has been cutting my hair for the past year, and does a darn good job for $ 20. But that doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to going back to Regina…
