O’Connor Woods

I planned a luncheon for 50 at O’Connor Woods on Saturday. It was a lovely afternoon. The food was delicious. I was expecting adequate but the entire chicken dish with vegetables and very tasty rice was outstanding. My co-​chair and I worked with Josh who was most accommodating through the whole planning process. The wait staff was friendly and very accomplished. They all made us as chairs look good.

My father recently moved into O’Connor Woods. We have been planning this move since last November. The staff has been so helpful every step of the way. Jennifer met with us on a regular basis, keeping us informed about the process and checking in with us as we prepared for the move. The apartment is absolutely perfect, but the best part is the staff and the residents. Regina has regularly checked on a leg wound; Cindy was an essential part of our successful move; Colleen and the Ambassador Program immediatly welcomed him into the community and made sure he was included in activities and meals. Every resident has been so friendly and the staff could not be more accommodating. Within a few days he was feeling right at home. Thank you, OCW, for your taking care of us.

Held my parent’s 60^th Anniversary in the West Hall for about 40 guests. I believe it holds 100+. The venue was amazing, the service was amazing, the food was amazing and so was the attention to detail. I am a very busy person and it is very difficult to make all the decisions about appetizers, entrees, color of table cloths but Josh Duzenski — Dinning Services Supervisor made great recommendations that saved time and reduced the stress level. He and his staff provided recommendations on the cake, for example, which turned out fabulous and yummy. And the chef style pizza was really to die for. It was for the kids but I found myself taking a nibble at the pepperoni sausage pizza because it looked so good. The main entry’s of New York Minute Steak (a Josh reco) was excellent — I wanted to try it first but Josh said it is good — I trusted him — and I am glad I did. I am also glad Josh later suggested that I double the order for appetizers because it seem lite for 30 adults (I only ordered a dozen of (4) appetizers) and he was right. I would have ran out. The appetizers were so good, that it was like eating a meal. A real compliment to the on site Chef’s. I forgot about the champagne but Josh took care of it. Now that is service.
Now let’s talk about the venue. My friends, family and I were amazed at the venue’s audio & video system. The kids were able to connect to their phones and performed for their grandparent’s 60^th. We also connected to a laptop to show a video with a drop down screen behind the stage. Did I mention the stage. yes there is even a low level stage which was perfect for our celebration and performers. The place had a grand piano which was definitely utilized. This place is a true unhidden gem and I would highly recommend holding your next celebration at O’connor Woods.

I have to agree with Charlie O; however, my experience comes directly from a parent who loves living there.
At O’Connor Woods — they get it right! In the 20 years or so of caring for the seniors of our community, and others whom relocate here; they have solved most of life’s problems.
My Dad relocated from So Cal and he is delighted to be a resident. They respectfully encourage their residents to be well and live freely… who can ask for anything more?
It has been many years, so I am completely delighted to again be living in the same city as my Dad. This chapter of our lives, is only enhanced by the peace of mind O’Connor Woods provides through their many interesting activities & trips, very dedicated & caring staff, quality dining, and beautiful grounds and interiors…

I have had the opportunity to be here working in one of the buildings for the last two days. I have to say that this is one of the if not the best senior citizens retirement homes with assisted living that I have ever seen. The residents are well taken care of and many of them continue to drive to where ever they want to go. If a resident needs some extra care all they have to do is call security and someone will come to their apartment and help them. The grounds are well kept and very beautiful. It’s like living in the country. Very peaceful.
There is also a Rehab facility and Skilled Nursing facility on campus for those who require those services. Very Nice.
