I enjoyed the halo-halo(Filipino dessert drink topped with ice cream, flan, milk, shaved ice, and a mixture of fruits, jello, boba, and yam) with my sister. My favorite thing to eat here is there deep fried fish balls. Their turon(banana egg rolls) are delicious, definitely my go to place to buy this sweet delicacy. My family and I usually order a tray of it when we have parties, or going to attend a pot luck.

A little small but comfortable enough. Everything’s good. It’s like a mini Filipino shop. They sell pork & chicken cabobs & turon too, snacks, Filipino soundtracks & movies, Goldilocks & house made ice cream cakes in stock & per request. I’ve catered through them plenty of times.

Ok, good ice cream. There’s a limited amount of flavors that are actually good. The mango ice cream in my opinion is the best. It’s sweet and not too creamy. It’s refreshing in the summer when it’s hot. I tried the Thai tea flavored one and it was too much, too strong.

So far I have tried their Almond and Honeydew snows, Avocado smoothie, all their tropical flavored ice creams, various milk teas with their Thai tea being my regular drink, and occasionally get some of their dried shelf snacks. Have yet to their finger foods. Enjoyed them all and am down to try more! They’re my go-to place for boba or anything refreshing when the heat gets to me whenever I’m back home in Stockton. With a lot of their drinks and desserts, they’re not way too sweet like I find with Lollicup, personally, and their smoothies not too icy at the bottom, an issue I often run into at Quickly’s. I appreciate that they also sell the tubs of a number of the tropical ice creams. As a Filipino who enjoys my people’s flavors, I dig the selection, like how it’s right next to Jollibee if I’m hungry for something heavier(or reverse, after some Jollibee, head there for dessert!), and how they sell some karaōke CDs and DVDs from some classic and recent Filipino cinema. It’s a very likeable place. I recommend it.

My family is Filipino and always used to frequent Red Ribbon for their Halo Halo and pastries, but since they closed we haven’t really visited this shopping area. I was out with my dad and grandma and my grandma wanted something cold. She mentioned Halo Halo and my dad said to go try Manila Express. The people there are very friendly. They had Katy Perry music videos playing in the background. One wall is all snacks and they have a couple little shelves that hold snacks as well. They have little finger foods and pastries as well as ice cream. What I like about them is they give you the choice of which 2 ice creams you would like in your Halo Halo. I got green tea and ube. And, of course, before I left I had to stock up on my Filipino snacks. I really like this place and will be returning.

So, my little sister wanted to try this place out because everyone in Stockton was getting there BoBa from here — well, at least her whole High School was. We stopped by this place Saturday for a quick BoBa fixed, but I decided to be adventurous and got their HaloHalo. And let me tell you… I fall in LOVE with it. it was amazing and so incredibly delicious. I am not sure I will be able to find another place to top Manila’s HaloHalo(I get my HaloHalo with no beans[because I don’t like beans] and two scoops of Ube ice cream). It has become a weekend thing for me to get some HaloHalo every time I go to Stockton/visit my dad. The Turon is a must. the crispy sweet/honey glaze fried banana is heaven. It is so good, can’t wait to get my hand on some soon. I seriously can’t wait for Saturdays anymore… my Saturday’s are officially Manila’s NoBean HaloHalo Days!!!

Manila Express & Karaōke on West Ln in Stockton, California. After dinner tonight with my tribe. We were heading to get some ice cream at Cold Stone. But the kids wanted to mix things up a bit. I remembered my friend *Chris H* telling me about Halo halo. So I did a Unilocal search and found this place. Thank you Chris H. I showed the kids the Unilocal pictures and our journey began. We arrived and the place was pretty bright and they had some techno or trance music playing in the background. The older gentlemen that works there was grooving to the music while he was cleaning the shop. This is my type of spot :) Dude is really nice and cool. The front counter girl was very helpful, I didn’t get her name but I did like her bandana she was wearing. The kids ended up ordering some ice cream single scoop for $ 1.99 each and I got the Halo halo for $ 3.95. I didn’t know how to eat it so thew front counter girl told me I need to crush it up amd swirl it around. I was given a straw and a spoon. My kids had a blast playing around with the Halo halo. So when it was finally mixed up I tried it. I started to drink it then as the pearls inside started to go up the straw all eyes were on me. They all wanted to try Halo halo as they were finishing up their ice cream. They did enjoy the ice cream here too. They sell chips galore up in here and all types of munchies. The pork buns caught my eyes 4 buns for $ 6 and the banana chips caught my youngest daughter’s eye. My other two were just scanning thier menu on what to try on our next visit. On our next visit I want to sit outside on their little patio. Great customer service tonight by the two that were working tonight. My children had a wonderful time and that’s all that matters to me. Doing what Dad’s do, spending time with their kids. Yeah we’ll be back very soon, since my son wants to try Jollibee next door. Vincent D *VD* Enjoying the simple things in life.

Halo-halo! Really? Awesome! I’m in. I’ve seen some very simple versions of halo-halo at other places. However, Manila Express make their halo-halo as decadent cooling desserts with all sorts of tasty fillings, shaved ice, and two flavors of your choice ice cream. Yum! For aesthetics there’s not much to say positive about the atmosphere or décor. There’s limited indoor seating, a really loud display refrigerator for the pre-packed ice cream/ice cream cakes, and many stacks of over stock boxes in plain sight. The pleasant personalities of the employees with great customer service goes a long, long way to make up for appearance of the shop. Even though there were many people to serve, they delivered with smiles and quick efficiency. It does appear to take the one-stop-shop concept to the extreme; and, believe it or not, it really works. Remember or keep in mind, it’s a Pinoy business catering to Pinoy and Pinoy treat lovers. Lol Will I be back? Definitely. Will I recommend? Well you just read my Unilocal review. ;-)
