As a former customer who frequented this place under the former management, we decided to try it out again. It was good before, so why not try again and have this as one of our potential haunts? So we went. My wife and I were the only ones who were there, and the current proprietress(she seemed to be the only one there) still managed to stiff us a single chicken wing from our order(like 9 wings instead of 10), which strangely tasted like it was wings that came from a frozen bag — the kind that you buy from any regular grocery store — and then pre-warmed via microwave. The phở was alright, though it probably wasn’t worth the price for the amount we got. We then paid from our debit card only to be charged a month later(which caused an overdraft fee). Bottom line: bad service, and very little pride in what they do. We will never again come here, and we advise others to steer clear of this careless, strictly-for-profit dump.

This place offers banh mi sandwiches for a good price. $ 3.25+tax=$ 3.50 per regular sandwich. Pretty good if you need something cheap, quick, and won’t make you fat. If you go, make sure the lady shopkeeper is taking your order; the male shopkeeper takes longer. It’s usually empty so the order takes 3 – 10 minutes depending on how many you ordered. Note: it’s cash only. The lady generally doesn’t care about exact change unless you request it, so it’s usually eyeballed to the nearest quarter when you get it.

We use to come here years ago during the UOP days. Came by a few months ago and was surprised to see that a new business took over. Pretty much the same food items except there’s pizza now too. I ordered sandwiches then and recently again today. The sandwiches are your typical Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches are pretty good, with fresh bread(which is super important) and good ingredients. What makes me wanting to keep coming back here though are definitely the owners. It’s a mom and pop type business, with an older Vietnamese couple running the place. They are the nicest couple ever, in a genuine way. Smiling, friendly and welcoming. Wish more ppl would appreciate these type of business. I definitely will be a repeat customer.

This is a new business. Thanks Vincent for bringing it to my attention. It is on the south side of Rose Marie Lane just west of Pershing. I was the only diner other than a couple of takeout orders. The place was quite warm… needed ventilation. I asked the lady(owner?) to turn the ceiling fans on and she did. It helped. Also, very quiet. Needs some noise i.e. TV or music. I ordered seafood soup and a pizza. Large pepperoni pizza was $ 7.99. Kind of weird/different pizza dough. Very light, very thin crust… bread-like. The menu says the dough is made fresh daily. The crust was so soft it does not hold up well at all trying to eat the pizza. It fell apart. Best way to eat it would be on a plate with a fork and knife. Other than that, the cheese with plentiful and the topping was okay. The soup, well, it was okay. It had several pieces of shrimp, calamari, crab(imitation?) and maybe a slice of pork sausage? I’m not exactly sure what it was. I dumped some of the veggies in it. Mostly sprouts. I squeezed the two pieces of lime in it and a couple of dashes of soy sauce. I think this kind of soup is called phở? I’ve decided I’m not a fan of phở. Give me good old stick-to-your-ribs American soup. Lol I do not think I will return here. It is a new restaurant that recently opened and in time I’m sure they will work some of their kinks out.

Tried this place out since it’s under new ownership. They’ve added pizza to the menu which appears to be their specialty. I wasn’t able to order it since they were out of the topping I wanted, but I’ll try in the future and update this post. Note: I talked to the owner and the awesome grab&go spring roll and egg roll packs that Saigon used to carry will not be offered by the new management. Today I ordered my old standby: spicy ginger chicken. They didn’t retain the recipe used by Saigon Sandwich and I doubt I’ll order it again. It was microwaved meat lathered in mayonnaise. The vegetables and bread were still very good. Not the five-star extravaganza that it use to be, but this place it just starting up. I’m pleased to see small restaurants in the neighborhood and will try again soon.

Depot Pizza Sandwiches & Restaurant on Rosemarie Ln in Stockton, California. Unilocal Challenge 15⁄100 Note: It’s where the old Saigon sandwich spot was. Tip: Takes cash, Credit and ATM Pro Tip: Has a restroom My Unilocal friend Pimp K, told me about this place. She told me” they sell Pizza now and they were putting up a new sign”. So I had to see what’s crackin and I came first to grab a menu and took some pictures and was about to leave and the Son of the owners approached me in the parking lot. Told me about thier pizza and I said«I was coming back». I came back with my youngest daughter and my son was already with me. We ordered the medium pizza for $ 4.99. One cheese and one pepperoni. Some snacks and drinks too. I ordered a Bahn Mi $ 3.25 chicken teriyaki sammich. We decided to dine in and we were the only ones in. Note: Mickey Mouse is a saying for messed up, cheap stuff, Jimmy rigged, jacked up or clowning around. I got a chance to talk to the owners, they told me they dough is made fresh daily and they use 100% mozzarella cheese. The kept the same menue but added the Pizza. Since it’s different cooks they have thier own way and it’s really good. That’s what’s up, they don’t Mickey Mouse around here. The kids loved the pizza and thats all the matters to me. The sammich in my opinion tasted better then when the previous owner ran the joint. I brought my Mama here on my next visit because, I told her about my new spot. We got a LG $ 7.99 and a small $ 4.99 Pizza. Two Vietnamese Sandwiches and some won ton soup. My brother and my Mom liked everything here. The soup was very good. On my latest visit with two of my kids, my youngest daughter tried the won ton soup and my son got a Bahn Mi sandwich. My baby girl, really liked the soup a lot. My son liked his sandwich too. As for me, hell yeah I liked my sandwich. What was cool for us is? The Atm machine was stolen and they didn’t have one, so they gave me credit. *I didn’t have enough cash* I was like«Wow», since I’m a regular and I’ve been telling my friends and family about this place the owners did me a solid. After we ate, I returned with the balance, I owed them. Now that’s what I’m talking about. This place is great and I love the food and staff. My kids and family love the place. They hit everything that means most to me. Great food and great service. So yeah we’ll be back pretty soon. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega Always, enjoying the simple things in life.
