Lisa I’ve been meaning to write this review for quite sometime now. I wanted to let you know how much I really appreciate everything you did on the last transaction and the many transactions before. I have worked with a lot of title companies over the course of the last 13 years and I can’t tell you how many countless times where escrow has dropped the ball. You and your team are on top of it. You have always gone above and beyond to ensure every piece of the transaction is covered. I appreciate all of the times that you have stayed late, followed up on the weekend(even though you are off) or have coordinated sign offs in different states and in different countries! It is amazing the amount of knowledge and patience that you have. I don’t think I could ever do your job. Escrow is always the dumping ground for everyone else’s false expectations. They almost think you guys are not human! The service that you have provided me over the course of the last 3 years has been amazing. I can’t believe that we have closed over 100 escrows together. My business would not be as successful if it wasn’t for the services that you provide. Thanks again

Like Leah R., I wish I had read these reviews in advance. This company is to be avoided at all costs, or it will end up costing you, time money, energy to name a few. The staff is completely unprofessional, except for the front desk receptionist. I would give them zero star if possible. When I first walked in, a woman who never identified herself to me(either by name or position) came over to me and asked who I was? Not«Hello my name is… how may I help you? They made numerous mistakes starting by almost depositing my EMD into the wrong escrow account. And when I asked for a receipt with the correct account number, she responded that«my check stub would serve as my receipt. «When I insisted on a correct receipt, she became visibly annoyed. Generally I provide the loan agent or broker with the information of my trusted«Placer Title» in Elk Grove, but as an oversight because I was in a hurry to initiate escrow, I did not. Against my initial decision and better judgment I did not turn around and walk out. However, after a series of unfortunate events initiated by «Chicago Title» I emailed the woman and instructed her to immediately cease all transactions and issue my refund. Instead she emailed my lenders and told them that the sale had been cancelled. After numerous phone calls to the lenders to clarify the misinformation, it took her four days to issue my refund. In the interim, I had to use additional funds to open escrow with«Placer Title» in order to avoid what was an already huge financial nightmare from becoming an egregious liability. I’m amazed that a business with such poor customer service to the detriment of their clients can stay in business. I have since written to their corporate office, I am not holding my breath, nor do I anticipate ever hearing form them. I have read reviews for almost all of their offices and they all seem to have the same majority opinion about the lack of quality of their work, and their unprofessional demeanor. I will never use Chicago Title again.

Terrible. Poor customer service, very unorganized and they seem to be mistake prone. The agent kept taking a weeks vacation each month bringing the work to a standstill and she did not care at all! And she is the manager. She literally yelled at me that she gets 4 weeks a year. And I am paying her for this… never again.

I have used Chicago Title countless times in the Bay Area — nearly all the experiences were great. Decided to try out the Chicago Title Stockton for a small test purchase out that way. The service was slow and erroneous. Our contact was Lisa and she made numerous sloppy mistakes, here’s an example: Friday they send a closing statement for a Monday close. Its 4pm so I ask for wire instructions. I rush to setup the wire and race to get the paperwork back to them before the bank closes. Monday rolls around and Lisa says: 1) We made a mistake — and sorry but we didn’t tell you the right amount to wire — you’ll have to get us more 2) Sorry — its going to close in a week and half All of this she says via email an hour before I leave for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Also, they added junk fees to the closing statement. FIGHT the JUNK fees! Don’t let them charge these to you: Overnight Delivery Fee Electronic Imaging Fee HOA Processing Fee Delivery Scan Fee … all BS fees that are pure profit for Lisa’s monthly bottom line. Maybe it was because I was a frequent flyer, but the Chicago Title’s in the Bay Area were so much better.
