This company organized the Second Annual Taste of the Trucks Festival that occurred in Midtown, March 29th, 2014 at 8th and Spring St. To summarize: The festival is not well-run. It’s not a good value. Do not recommend attending future events. If you’re on the website, it is $ 25 admission which includes three(3) taste tickets. These are basically small samples(about the size of a small takeout dressing container). If the samples run out, and they quickly did, then you get $ 1 off an entrée from any of the trucks. As a marketing deal, they offered a deal: admission for two and six taste tickets on Amazon Local for $ 20. Neither walk-up nor the Amazon deal really offered much value. The samples were minuscule and the line was around the block as they didn’t separate out walk-up attendees from pre-purchased attendees. Charging $ 25 just to get access to a food truck event when you can go to the Atlanta Food Truck Park? The event was poorly organized with trash overflowing garbage bins(no separate recycling either) and, while the event was underway, a tow truck brought in another food truck in the midst of walking attendees. Finally, the food trucks didn’t sell alcohol. There were two individual stands setup so perhaps the alcohol sales went to the organizer. It seems like an event designed to take advantage of the popularity of food trucks.
