Just came here after the long hike. Played on the beach then I got hungry! So I really love seafood… figured it would good since were near the ocean… LOL so wrong. Well service is kinda slow… They’re nice, but slow. I got a ice vanilla latte with an extra shot. That was good. LOVE me some coffee. So for lunch I picked an open faced crab sandwich melt. Bleh. It was very bland. It was simple. The cheese was cold when I got it. The fries were good but that was about it. I could of made the crab melt way better at home and for the price that I paid $ 19 I expected it to be WOW. But it was bleh. I even asked for jalapeños and was given fresh jalapeños. Wanted grilled. Not getting that ever again. Atmosphere is nice. There’s a fire pit, plenty of tables… the vibe is very chill, relaxed and casual. There’s a bar in the middle which was nice but no one was there to take orders. Not sure if bartender comes later in the day… lol I mean it was noonish… too early?

Went on Valentine’s yesterday and got in just as it was getting busy. My order was taken right away and came out quickly. I got the salmon sandwich special, tasted very fresh, good sauce. My husband had the fish tacos and he said they were good, ate all of it. The best part was the friendly staff– I am pregnant and was getting the order to go by myself while my husband was at the beach. While waiting they gave me a breakers onsie. So cute and thoughtful– thank you! We will definitely be back

We came here after playing at Stinson beach on Veteran’s day and it was the only restaurant open, but luckily we are not too disappointed with the food here. There are plenty of tables both inside the restaurant and outside at the patio and service is fast. Price is steep for breakfast, but the café is right off the park and beach, so we really could not complain. We ordered a burger, an omelette, a quesadilla, and a salmon salad. Everything is pretty average except for the Salmon salad which really stood out. The Salmon was good size and the grill on it was perfect. Just the right amount of flakiness, not overcooked. Service was great, you order at the register and get a number, and staff will deliver food to the table. They are also nice when we ask for extra plates and utensils multiple times. Otherwise, this place is average and I will still like to try some other places next time in the area.

We arrived for breakfast and the stench from the bathrooms was pretty bad, but we decided to take a chance on the place after all. I really wish we hadn’t! The food arrived and was just sub par in every way. The bacon was old and cooked to death and re– heated. the eggs over easy were cooked hard and my omelette was cold, with some micro-waved warm spots and some partially melted cheese. The only thing that was good was the orange juice and the hot corn tortillas with cold tomatoes and avocado from the omelette. The final straw was the dirty coffee cup in which one of our beverages was served. We left in disgust with piles of untouched food left on our plates

Happy greetings friendly fast service and good hot coffee. Our food order arrived shortly after taking a seat. The plate of bacon and eggs looked like roadkill meat or just old either way I wouldn’t touch it. The eggs were fried not over easy as ordered. But heh, were at the beach, right? Then my date her food was served cold with the scrambled egg mixture the only warm part of her order. WTF? BUT dirty coffee stains inside the mug of coffee, that stopped my stomach, quenched my appetite and stood my seat off the chair in disgust. A $ 40 breakfast uneaten but the most disturbing was the whiff of bathroom stench mixed with urinal odorizers that left the biggest impression.

A few of us stopped in for breakfast before our hike and the veggie burrito I ordered was delicious. They filled that tortilla to the max. After eating half of it, I was just too full. I enjoyed the rest at Alamere Falls. The only reason for 1 less star is due to their broken espresso machine. They had coffee available, but I was looking forward to an espresso this morning. I would return to try the rest of their menu. I did love their water re-fill station!

There aren’t many food options out in Stinson Beach & this seemed like the better option. But I think w most of the places here, it was basically overpriced food. Salad was meh, not the freshest.

Great, chill spot for a post surf burger! I absolutely love their dog-friendly patio, with fire pits and an outdoor bar. While the food is a tad pricey, it’s served very promptly and I haven’t gone wrong with any of their burgers or beer. Just wish they stayed open later!

I hate to leave a review that starts«The food was delicious, but…», but it needs to be done. The food was delicious, but the prices they have are pretty outlandish even for a resort town(–1 star) and they’re 50% higher than what they advertise online(–2 stars, see photos I’ve posted). That just really grinds my gears. Go if you don’t mind being gouged for simple food.

This review is about the bartender set-up on the patio. You can’t sit at the patio bar if you’ve ordered food from inside the restaurant. But you can order drinks and take them to your patio seats. Or you can sit at the bar and just order drinks. Or you can sit at the bar and order everything. If it sounds confusing, that’s because it is. I wish I would have known that before I ordered food inside. Basically the bartender outside is somehow independent of the inside restaurant, yet serves their food and wants to make money off food orders. And he does not want to bus any orders that initiate next door. The set up is odd and they need to address it – it’s not in service to the customer. Food was fine.

Best oatmeal I’ve had in a very long time. I had questioned their prices but considering the huge portion of oatmeal with tons of fixings that I just got, and being delicious on top of that, makes it worth the $$. The girl who helped me was very sweet and made conversation with me while I waited. Thanks for the great meal as I was passing through on my way to Washington!

I’ll start off by saying that if I were rating this place on the setup alone, I’d give it 5 stars hands down. I ordered the shrimp salad and chips and guacamole at the counter inside but decided to order my drink at the bar outside because I saw a couple of interesting looking jugs of sangria sitting out there. Once the bartender saw I already had a food number, he was quick to tell me I couldn’t sit at the(mostly empty) bar unless I ordered food there, then continued to serve other customers as I stood there a little stunned. Once I got his attention again I asked if I could order a drink from him, to which he asked me «you didn’t order inside?» Blah blah blah, eventually he begrudgingly got me a tiny, 99% ice filled glass of sangria. Got about 3 sips of sangria total thanks to all the ice. Bottom line — food was meh, drink was meh, service at the bar left a lot to be desired.

We rolled in to Stinson Beach late morning, starving to death and already exhausted from our windy drive on PCH. The town was packed and so was the restaurant. When I got to the counter I was told to go find a seat first and decide then come back. That turned out to be good advice since there were was only one couch in the corner available. We snatched it up. I ordered at the counter and we got our drinks quickly. Our breakfast came out shortly thereafter. The food was pretty darn good. I had french toast and my partner had a breakfast sandwich. The service wasn’t half bad either considering they were understaffed and the place was filled to capacity. I don’t know that under different circumstances I would give this place four stars but we were on vacation(not stressed for time) and I found it very quaint, the staff friendly, and the food good.

I must say that I like the sunny patio. Considering it’s just about the only game in town for lunch in Stinson Beach(one of about two), that alone gives it an honorable mention. But the food was a bit lazy. The tacos looked pretty good, but other items we ordered were underwhelming. The salad was thrown together, and our sandwich was a bit dry. When we went, the special of the day was oysters, and they came out tasting gritty and looking dehydrated. But our margarita was decent, so perhaps the tacos would have been the way to go.

Argh. There’s only 2 restaurants in Stinson, so they know you will eat there since you’re starving from walking on the beach all day. For years the 2 little places serve similar halfway decent food at somewhat reasonable prices. This place used to serve the BEST oysters, a great burger, or decent soup specials. It was open into the evening and met the need for good food, fast. Now I can’t believe it… we walk in at 3 pm on a Friday and there’s only a few people on the patio, no one inside. The proprietor is rushed and bossy and tells us to order at the counter. The selection is your basic Mexican pre-fab food, mostly breakfast/lunch type, seafood choices are limited. So I STANDTHERE feeling rushed and order us a dozen oysters, split fish tacos, guacamole, and 2 chardonnays.(no discussion over the wine, basic Costco) When the still-rushing owner says, «82 dollars», yes that’s EIGHTYTWODOLLARS. The food was meh, boring. The busboys hardly came by though the place was not even half full. My wallet hurt. The wine was cheap. The tacos were similar to Del Taco. Even though I always forget food when heading over the hill to Stinson, I’ll definitely go back to the greasy spoon across the street, because at least they seat us, look cute, and bring us food without charging an arm and leg. Stinson beach needs a great restaurant, and this new iteration of the Café is a disappointment.

Breakers Café is one of the few(I’d say two) breakfast/lunch places in Stinson Beach. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with three of my girlfriends after a long hike starting from Pan Toll Camp in the Mt. Tam area. We took the Steep Ravine Trail and ended up in Stinson Beach as planned. There were only two brunch spots filled with customers – Breakers and this other place that looked like Sand Dollar Café. Both seemed to be serving the same foods… breakfast foods, but also sandwiches and salads for lunch. Breakers seems to be owned and run by a Mexican proprietor, and if you’re reading this. 100% and 5 stars to the service crew that day. They deserve five stars! They were super quick with the lunch rush, and the food came out at different times, but obviously because they wanted food to be fresh and hot instead of cold from waiting. All of the guys working that day were on their A-game bringing out our meals and doing so with a smile. The food is what I felt was lacking. I got their wild snapper tacos and I was kind of surprised that I paid for two average tacos that each cost more than $ 10! I would never even pay for that if I went to a super high-end restaurant! I’m assuming that Breakers is able to elevate their prices because of the lack of restaurants at Stinson Beach… but I was surprised that I only had two tacos on my plate. There should at least be some tortilla chips or a simple salad! We seemed to be the only group of hikers dining at that time… I’m guessing locals or passerby’s come eat here. I wouldn’t choose to eat here next time because of the pricing. But the ambiance of the indoors with their organic/wood-paneled interior is beautiful. They also have tons of serve-yourself water and a restroom for each sex. We lounged outside on their deck, but it got annoying after fighting off the flies that kept on buzzing around.

I had an Uncle Pete’s Omelette that is a scrumptuous delight! Eggs, Shrimps and Avocado… amazingly went well together… who would have though. The firepit was a great addition as it can get chilly on the willie most morns.

The servings are generous. The red snapper tacos are delicious, and their burritos are huge! The Dijon burger and fries are yummy too. The Bloody Mary was good, not the best I’ve ever had but pretty delicious! If your not a pepper and spicy person make sure to ask them to take it easy on the hot sauce and black pepper you’ll die! Staff is super nice and service is quick. Will definitely have to try them for breakfasts!

I recently had the good fortune of attending a friend’s wedding at Stinson Beach. The ceremony took place outdoors on the sand as the sun was setting and the waves crashed along the rocks. Very romantic setting. The reception took place nearby at Breakers Café. Upon first glance, you wouldn’t normally associate this restaurant with wedding parties. But it actually worked out really well. They set up a large wine bar outside, and folks mixed and mingled while sipping bubbly and nibbling on cheese and charcuterie(which was catered by another nearby business). There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They also had a backroom for games(pool table, shuffle board, etc.). And they even had enough room for an impromptu dance floor(I certainly did my fair share of booty shaking). Only downsides to the restaurant is that there are only a few bathrooms(which can be a problem with large parties), and there was only one bartender working the indoor bar. That being said, the entire Breakers staff was super friendly and accommodating. When the reception ended(around 11pm), we all convened across the street at the Sand Dollar Café(which is owned by the same folks) for an after party, complete with DJ, dancing, and more drinks. All in all, it was a fabulous time. And if you’re looking to do a beach wedding, I would highly recommend both Breakers Café and the Sand Dollar for your party hosting needs.
