Food is good but they are very expensive on their dinner menu… Asked for the window table but got told it was reserved. We got seated in the back… Really…It’s just us… No one else showed up the whole time the three of us were busy spending $ 75+ for dinner… We will not be back… This on top pf trying to eat here on a friday night at 9:15 on labor day weekend… Sign says they are open till 10. They still had 3fun tables eating… The hostess told us the kitchen was closed… Needless to say we were not happy… The food may be good but expense and the experience aren’t.Did I mention we wont be back… Both encounters were with Ashley…

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE-What in the world are they thinking? Went there for lunch on Friday 8⁄12 and it took two excruciating hours to get a half of bacon egg salad sandwich and cup of soup and a week old dessert – the strawberry on top was actually turning black and it cost $ 8.00!!! The waitress was horrendous she forgot about us again and AGAIN!!! I would never ever return there. DONOT go there! There are many other good options in Stillwater!

Sundays are always a great day for brunch! While downtown Stillwater, we decided on trying Savories for breakfast. As we walked up to the door we noticed a few tables outside, however, it was a little too windy to enjoy our meal there… but would be great on a warm summer morning! I started the meal by asking how they make their hot chocolate… I’m a chocoholic, so I’m pretty picky about my chocolate drinks! When the waitress started by saying they start with fudge, I interrupted and said I’m in! When it came out, it was in a large mug with whipped cream and a miniature candy cane. This was one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had… maybe even the best! The fudge was perfectly combined with the milk and the candy cane added a touch of peppermint(not overpowering). For the main meal, I had the English Cottage Platter. This had scrambled eggs with great flavors of which I particularly enjoyed the fresh tomatoes! They added a little sweetness to the eggs. The platter also came with excellent sausage links and perfectly cooked bacon(done but not too crispy). The breakfast potatoes could have been cooked a little longer to provide the crispy flavor I enjoy. But the biscuit was excellent, not dry at all and came with a little jelly which was a treat! I will go back whenever I can!

I went to Savories for breakfast on Sunday after staying overnight at the nearby Water Street Inn. I’ve been wanting to try Savories for months after reading great reviews on Unilocal. It definitely didn’t disappoint and I only wish that it was closer so I could come more often! Savories has lots of breakfast options that change regularly based on the ingredients they get from local farms. They always have at least one French toast option, johhny cakes, and a special quiche along with their regular entrees like omelets and other egg dishes. I was immediately drawn to their special crunchy French toast with blueberry and blackberry sauce. When it came out, it almost reminded me of French toast sticks, but so much better. The outside was slightly crunchy from the corn flake coating and it was topped with deliciously sweet blueberry and blackberry sauce. My only grip is that the portion seemed a little small for the price. My hubby ordered the cottage breakfast which was a large portion of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and a homemade biscuit. The eggs were creamy and slightly sweet from the fresh tomato and asparagus. The biscuit was the showstopper for me. It was perfeclty moist and flaky, and you could tell it was homemade with lots of butter. I can’t wait to go back to Savories for more breafkast! Make sure you order a hot chocolate, they make theirs fresh with fudge, and it is delicious.

I somehow managed to grow up in Stillwater but didn’t make it to Savories until last month. Best Caesar salad that I’ve ever had, hands down. They clearly baked the croutons just before serving it, and the dressing was perfect. My mom’s lasagna was mouth watering but I couldn’t put my fork down long enough to taste it. Num!

A great date night restaurant. We brought our own bootle of wine from the winery down the street and they were happy to cork it and provide a cooler during the course of our meal. I was impressed with the speed at which our food came out for how busy the place was. I will definitely be returning here.

I went to Savories only once(although I wish I could afford going more) and the food was delicious. It’s a very small restaurant on main street and it has a very charming décor inside. The waitstaff was pleasant to work with and made recommendations for those in my party who weren’t sure what to order. I must say this again, the food was to die for! Simply delicious and inspired me to cook some similar dishes at home. only on more of budget! It is fairly upscale and a little pricey, but well worth it.

When they say«savory», they really mean it. I had a cannelloni that was so buttery, it practically just slid its way from the plate into my mouth. Boyfriend, who is a champion fatty, could barely eat half of his macaroni and cheese. It was decent food, for sure. It’s just that it’s way too, for lack of a better word, savory. It was just too heavy for us. We had to walk it off after, even though Stillwater folds up at like 6pm.

We waited for a little while to be seated which didn’t bother me. What did bother me was beign asked by 7 different people if we had been helped. They were friendly, but it seemed disorganized. The coffee was good and the server was very helpful when we had questions about the menu. I ordered a burger, however the burger on the menu wasn’t available due to a menu change. I was fine with the substitute and ordered that. When the food came it looked great. Presentation was impressive. Then I tasted the food. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. It wasn’t much of anything. They said the burger was stuffed with blue cheese and mushrooms, I couldn’t taste either. The homemade ketchup wasn’t good. It tasted like tomato paste and had no essence of actually ketchup. Also, the fries were soggy. My meal was disappointing. I don’t know if I’d go back. I can say that the atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was very helpful.

After a failed(yay for 40 degree spring weather) attempt at snowshoeing that turned into hiking at William O’Brien State Park on Saturday, my friends and I stopped in Stillwater for a late lunch. We were drawn to Savories by the sign in the shape of a fork displayed on Main Street. The service was absolutely horrendous; luckily, the food over compensated. We were«greeted» by a rude waitress who looked at us expectantly with the attitude of «well, what do you want?» when we walked in. After explaining we were there to eat and requesting a table for 3, she disappeared and left us standing in the foyer for 5 more minutes. This gave us time to enjoy the quaint, cabin like atmosphere, drool over the delicious looking menu displayed at the front door, and long for the happy hour cocktail menu. Once seated, we waited another 10 minutes before the rude waitress returned to take our order. The restaurant was probably two thirds full with one other server working, so we decided to cut Savories some slack. We started with the bread basket. I normally look down upon a restaurant that charges for bread, but we were starving. The foccacia and home-made honey infused olive oil and vinegar was phenomenal – so good it wasn’t even spoiled when we asked the waitress where we could buy the vinegar and she snidely looked at us like we were crazy and told us it was made in house. We pressed further and asked if the restaurant sold bottles of their home-made creation. I think she said no over her shoulder as she walked away… Back to the food: I ordered a beef-pork burger with a cilantro sauce and garlic fries. My fellow diners tried the portebella sandwich and carmelized brisket sandwich. We had a hard time ordering because everything on the menu looked fantastic. Lunch delivered – there was not much talking or sharing as we inhaled the delicious sandwiches, homemade chips, and perfectly greasy fries. Definitely go to Savories the next time you are in Stillwater – but be prepared to be treated like scum while you enjoy an incredibly satisfying meal. As an aside, a friend who grew up in Stillwater mentioned both of her brother-in-laws took her parents to Savories to ask if they could propose to their daughters, and her own husband planned to go there when he asked their blessing as well but was thwarted when they showed up and it was closed. Ladies – if your man is having dinner with your parents at Savories, the message is clear: get ready for some bling!

Love it! Went last week with my daughter for a night out, dinner was excellent. She ordered a pasta dish with a sundried tomato sauce that was so good I could not stop sampling it. My steak was perfectly prepared. But oh the dessert. Milk Chocolate and sooo wonderful, how could it taste better than any chocolate dessert I have ever had? Not sure but it did.

I took my wife and daughters here a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. The drinks were presented very attractively and the menu made it difficult to decide. The meal and the deserts were great. I will be back

I want to give this restaurant 5-stars, I do. The food deserves it! I’ve been there 3 times and each time the food is fresh and delicious! My issue is the service. Every time I have been I have not gotten good service. Servers are absent, hard to find and unpleasant. My last time there the server never came to our table, she just kept looking at us with pity(it was obvious our food wasn’t ready). She finally came over a half hour after we had ordered a simple breakfast and said they wer having«issues in the kitchen.» She looked like she was going to cry. It was ackward! So if you have a long time to sit and wait for food, but want something truely delicious, unique and fresh go to Savories…

Wonderfully charming, delightfully affordable. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating for a vegan diet. The waitress went back to the kitchen twice to ask about ingredients and figure out a solution. They ended up special making us a pizza with red sauce, artichoke hearts(spread out so you get a delicious bit in each bite), asparagus and some other things I can’t remember. Delicious! I also had a glass of orange juice which was Fresh Squeezed. Lovely place and I highly recommend going, if their vegan is that good I can’t imagine how nice their meaty-cheesy things are.

We went for my other half’s birthday dinner. The food was outstanding and affordable. I had the evening special scallops with risotto served with fresh heirloom tomatoes and sweet corn. The flavors were amazing. P had the chicken mushroom penne pasta which was tasty but nothing exciting. We did both agree our appetizer was one we would remember. Buffalo style calamari. It was cooked perfectly and the buffalo sauce was spicy but not overpowering. Overall a good meal. Also make sure you check out the cool bathroom.

Savories is little gem of a place just a bit down Stillwater’s Main Street. The menu is small, which I like. It features an eclectic collection of cuisine. Although it self-promotes as French, only the wallpaper in the restroom evokes France. I had chicken Thai pizza, which was pretty and tasty. My wife had a blue cheese burger with delectable garlic fries. But the dessert was what I’ll remember. We split a cheesecake wedge. It was chocolate dusted with cinnamon and chili. Rich and, well, savory, if you can say that about a dessert. The place is cute and charming, even down the the tilted wooden floor. The building must be over 120 yrs old. Beautiful women run the place. I’m not supposed to say that, but it’s very true.

Only had desert and the passion fruit mojito, but the bread pudding, strawberry cobbler were both great. Highly recommend desert. Breakfast looked great when we walked by.

I was out in Stillwater enjoying some nice weather and just wandering around with a friend. We had planned to eat at another restaurant until we found out it had closed. One of the store owners had suggested we try this place and I am glad we did. It is a totaly adorable and quaint European style bistro. I ordered a chicken pasta dish that was so rich I couldn’t finish it all, even though I wanted to. They also have tasty Italian sodas. This would be a great place to bring a date as it is quiet and cozy.
