I know Happy’s has a lot of fans in town, but sadly, my experience hasn’t been so great.
They usually give good service and communicate well, and I took my cars there for a couple years. Then on two occasions I brought my vehicle in for service before taking road trips and got stuck a thousand miles from home when something broke that they should have fixed.
The first time, I was driving to Colorado and the car quit when I reached the Rockies. Turns out the air filter hadn’t been cleaned or replaced. When I returned home, I told Happy’s what had happened and their explanation was that the filter got dirty between home and Colorado, and they hadn’t done anything wrong.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and a few months later got my brakes done before a trip to New York. By the middle of Pennsylvania, the brakes were squeaking and pulsating so badly that I had to limp to a local garage that my sister recommended. They redid the job for about ²⁄₃ the cost of what I’d paid Happy’s. That was when I decided to take my business elsewhere.
